I like Reddit. It's one of the best social media sites for curating your own feed. I just see the posts from the sub reddits I subscribe too. So, it's easy to avoid dumb *** memes (looking at your FB) and nutters posting about their nutty political theories (looking at you Twitter). I see just the things I want to.
Since I don't follow the Ukrainian war on Reddit (yikes too much garbage) I had to go look. I searched for "Russian bodies Bakhmut". The results contain lots of videos some with dramatic headlines. I don't see evidence of anything extraordinary. I found several videos of what appear to be Russian casualties but nothing like a massive slaughter per-say. There are several videos of trench networks with half a dozen to a dozen bodies and a few area shots of compounds with similar numbers of bodies. They do not match the wild head lines and frankly nothing more than I would have expected if a platoon was overrun and did not surrender quickly.
Edited to add my comment reflects the disconnect between the headlines and the actual videos. All four of the videos I watched were clearly from different places and if they were from when and where reported then clearly the UA kicked some serious ***. It's just like headlines like "bodies are piled up like cordwood" do not match the actual content.

And I saw someone make a good point, a furor over the polish deaths, from one missile tho obviously tragic, must be prevented, is important, is overshadowing the fact Ukraine is fending off hundreds of missiles and drones without the ability to strike launch platforms or command and center in Russia and Belarus.
Hope these are false alarms or that the amount of missiles is lower but I feel like Russia may decide to capitalize on Ukraine misfires, is entirely possible for them to pursue to drive a wedge into the Polish - Ukrainian unity and will seek now to cause further damage by focusing missiles on western Ukraine.
I hope all our posters here from Ukraine are safe and remain so.

LOS is broken!
Well, this is a very frustrating experience. Soviets are advancing in the direction marked in red arrow. They are still 300m away from the woods.

With that intelligence I move my JPz IV into a prepared fire position.
I thought this is going to be a prefect ambush place. It has LOS cover the open field and the road out of the town. The woods blocks advancing Soviets’  LOS, forcing them either go through the open field and take the flank shot or get into the woods (which should trigger the early warning as I have a lot of infantry units watching that area).


 
The result? It just feel like that T-34/85 has thermal sight, one round of 85mm AP shot through dense vegetation, penetrated JPz IV through “Forward Bottom”? What the heck?
 


 
 
OK, review the pervious turn save file, maybe, just a maybe this magic AP round was shot through a tiny gap between woods. But how come it penetrated through the bottom when my JPz IV is in a hull down position?

This is not a blame or a complaint that the game is broken.
I just want to speak out my frustration…..
Now I feel much better. Time to get back to my cockpit and resume my battle
 

 

I am holding on new purchases until we get game optimizations (engine 5?). Low frames are killing me. 

I after stating the unstatable immidiately hide in a hole expecting backlash and peeking just so slightly out of it here and then to check if those long awaited improvements (for me since 2013) have finally arrived.    

BFC: I suggest you please fix mdr files with 3D errors and then offer as a simple download with readme and not wait to include in a patch.
If you did pay Casio LIma studios to make those bunkers for all the titles...the axis ones with anti-tank guns and the muzzle effect is incorrectly placed, it seems like warranty work. 🙂 I think they are ALL a basic set (Pak38, Pak40, etc) and in a short time, those 3D guys sit down and fix the issue. Then it can be offered as a download link with a readme to put the files in the various z folders. These fixes do not have to be held hostage awaiting a patch with that entire headache of the license and activation. 
Just offering a suggestion from the peanut gallery...

I paid full price for a "combat simulator" that cant even decently model LoS. Im frustrated as i've hoped these problems would have been dealt via latest engine update but rest assured the main underlining problems that have plagued this series for over a decade is still alive and well and the devs seem to not care or just put their hands up and expect you to shell out another 60 bucks for the latest "engine upgrade". There is a 20 some-ton vehicle with its engine running, firing a 30mm cannon about 100 meters directly infront of the BTR crew and yet the crew cant see them to target even though its position was already relayed via radio. That crew knew exactly where that bmp was. Yet the bmp will spot the btr first and also open fire first. Brilliant game design lads really hit a homerun with that one. Please fix broken LoS. And for anyone who is new to the series or thinks the LoS is fine, look at the attached screenshot. Please don't start raddling off variables as if that makes up for the fact the crew cant see a massive IFV on the road firing its main gun. Give me a break. Please for the love of God, FIX THE BROKEN LOS.

Happy to report the same. Some graphics oddness but nothing game breaking. Yes it even feels faster/better!

We are spending LOT of money, it is also one of the better bargains in history. The Ukrainians are doing the bleeding, and even if it cost another hundred billion it is dirt cheap to essentially eliminate the Russian Army for a generation or more. With Ukraine victorious and in NATO we really CAN pivot toward China.

You can put steam in offline mode, then this won't happen.
