Sgt.Squarehead
The current iteration of the Core Units file is here if you are interested (it's a bit unconventional), look in Deploy (Blue) to get the best handle on what I've done (I haven't tweaked the individual unit settings yet, but the basics are all there): https://www.dropbox.com/s/xm958cg3k01d9ro/[CORE] Azerbaijani Peacekeepers.btt?dl=0 The idea of all this is that with the regime crushed the war in Syria is over, 'victory has been declared', NATO has accepted Azerbaijani peacekeepers both to allay Russian fears and in an attempt to draw the Azeris into the US camp (we know what's going to kick off in the Ukraine in a couple of years after all). OSIRIS is basically a mega ISIS, bolstered by surviving Syrian forces in addition to the Iraqis and the countless foreign fighters. After all...the tread title is "2018 look ahead"...It seems to be a fairly OK place to share ideas for future Projects...even if they are not done by BFC... Many members are looking forward to some Irak/ Afghanistan...and anti Taliban/ISIS kind of scenarios using CMSFII...Good to know some are in the making It's not like he is going to charge money for his work...Simply mentioning that this is something we can expexct to see the comming year... 9 hours ago, Sgt.Squarehead said: The current iteration of the Core Units file is here if you are interested (it's a bit unconventional), look in Deploy (Blue) to get the best handle on what I've done (I haven't tweaked the individual unit settings yet, but the basics are all there): https://www.dropbox.com/s/xm958cg3k01d9ro/[CORE] Azerbaijani Peacekeepers.btt?dl=0 The idea of all this is that with the regime crushed the war in Syria is over, 'victory has been declared', NATO has accepted Azerbaijani peacekeepers both to allay Russian fears and in an attempt to draw the Azeris into the US camp (we know what's going to kick off in the Ukraine in a couple of years after all). Besides and as I said before, there's hardly any real news from the side of BF in this thread, so yes, by all means share ideas for future projects. Why not.

I wouldn't even promise that much, I'm just experimenting with things.....What I was attempting to do is point out the massive flexibility of the current CM:SF array, without any of the improvements that version 2 will bring. If, as I fervently hope, Steve & Co. are generous in their allocations of SIngle Vehicles & Specialist Teams, this will be an immensely flexible game. At present I'm having to muck about with my TOE in Mosul because current Syrian Special Forces don't have the SPG-9 in their default TOE, whereas the Iraqi CTS that I'm using them to model do have that weapon.....With the new engine and a bit of luck this may not be a problem in the future. Same may apply to things like ZPU technicals, if we can get 'Syrian Army' crews in 'em we're half way to modelling half of the world's small wars! Some people just go through life with a chip on their shoulder. Anything that generates additional excitement for the products BF has commented on here is a win as far as I see it. Looking forward to what you do next with CMSF2 @Sgt.Squarehead Mosul was fantastic, with all the new options the next will be even more so.
PIATpunk
any beta testers care to comment whether the random turning off of shaders by the engine has been fixed? Still seeing it occasionally.

Still seeing it occasionally. If it is happening in a scenario or QB with foggy or hazy conditions then it's actually not a bug. There is apparently some compatibility problem between the shader and those weather conditions so it is deliberately disabled. I personally haven't noticed any problems so I can't be more specific. I didn't want to bug anybody for screenshots this past week, but I will start bugging testers quite soon So what happened? Did they tell you to mind your own business?
