Redwolf reacted to Schrullenhaft in How different are the GoG versions of CMx1?
GoG's version is 1.03 (the latest/last from Battlefront was 1.04). Other than that they are the exact same, though GoG does include a DirectX utility. I really haven't experimented around enough to discern if the utility makes any sort of difference to the game. I suspect that your 2D UI issues will NOT be resolved by the GoG version/distribution.
To get the games working properly (resolution-wise) I had to delete the Prefs file that gets installed with the games (something that normally isn't present until you go through the resolution selection process).
Do you Alt-Tab out of the game and re-maximize it to refresh the 2D screens ? That may not always work, but it is something to try. Alt-Tab'ing is also a bit necessary to get the CMx1 games running at a decent speed under Windows 10.

Okay, so here is the thing. The regular GIMP bmp importer does not support transparency. Your problem is on the input, not the output. The file inside gimp has no transparency / alpha channel.
    However, I found a workaround:
    - convert the bmp file to a png file using ffmpeg
    - import that png file into gimp. It has the proper transparency. See attached xcf file

Spent all the points on off-map arty maybe? And/or air assets it couldn't call in because it's an HQ unit, not an FO.
A "cannon company" fits this description. An HQ and offmap 105's.

Just have an "unlimited" option in the pulldown menu. The opponents can use a honor system on limits they have chosen.

Small preview of the Unification aspect of this mod. All four WW2 families with similar UI elements. Spot the differences. Red circle is a known error.

Portraits - looking to provide a bit of diversification with background smocks/camouflage patterns used by that nation or branch. Difficult for the Allies however... ideas anyone?
Special Equipment and Weapon Slots - Uniform across all titles. (Still messing with some shadows).
(CMFB is the surprising problem child of the group )

What is interesting is that you can see that the cost of the T-80 tanks (all 3 models), the T-64B and T-64B1  (but not T-64A) are increased from year 1980. I think this means that the ammo they fire is upgraded for years 80-81-82, but it is not written in the manual.

For all other vehicles the price stays the same throughout 79-81, just the rarity (may) change.

I have created a spreadsheet to show how much points IFVs and MBTs cost and how rare they are / rarity point cost.
There are three tabs for loose/standard/strict rarity levels.
    You can access it here:

Post them in this thread. Go slow, one by one, have savegames and wait for reactions before moving on. Don't "dump" large lists without interaction:

    Same bugs exist in CMCW.

    With a twist:
    - if you continue from the savegame with "play" (which you normally would), then a warping-stuck loop is shown for the tank on the bridge
    - if you instead hit the red button (and never watch the 1 minute turn), then the bug does not appear

I second the notion that a text field to enter a number would be the way to go.
I mean just the formation selection screen shows several premade (realistic) formations costing close to 30,000 points. And that's not even high quality troops.
(also, I would really like to have the points values displayed in the editor. If you take formation variations into account it is nearly impossible to "translate" from a QB selection display to the editor)

Probably due to the fact that 41 Pantserbrigade based in Seedorf/Hohne was the only significant element of 1 (NL) Corps based in Germany in peacetime.  Anybody interested in the Dutch military in this period should bookmark this site:

Thanks, that's quite an improvement, although a maximum of 18,020 points for a meeting engagement is still not enough IMHO. I'm currently playing a ~30,000 point PBEM meeting engagement on a 4 x 4.5 km map, using the Scenario Editor to put the troops together, which is rather cumbersome as it doesn't show a budget. A flexible solution, where we can define our own budget would be really helpful

Yes. I explored the problem a bit more and found it related to NVidia settings in the graphics menu. Once i set the MFAA to off i got no more spinning and lagging mouse. Using an old Geforce GTX 1070. 3D Model Quality is set to improved.

Redwolf got a reaction from arkhangelsk2021 in US armour spotting ability - buttoned or unbuttoned?
I seem to recall that the regular "move" command is as slow as it is because it abstracts away a short halt to fire. So it gives an accuracy bonus when on the move, as if it had stopped momentarily to shoot (which you can't do in CMx2). Likewise, a spotting bonus (as if swiveling the turret, which you can't do in CMx2). But that is from memory, something that might have been said during CMBN release discussions.

~13,000 points for huge quick battles is nowhere enough for the big maps (especially if air and arty support is involved). I would love to see if the budget points for quick battles could be increased, as even a single US mech bataillon without additional support costs more than 20,000 points.

Redwolf reacted to Ithikial_AU in Future of JuJu's UI Mod - Project Unification
    Evening all,
@Juju has announced that he was stepping back from modding and after working as a tester for a few of his releases and then helping out directly with R2V he's graciously offered to handover the care of his long running UI mod to me. As he said, "Please look after my kids". JuJu has provided me with all the original .psd files now so it's easier to update and add things in with the new content matching pretty close to the existing mod. This is still well and truly his mod. Now I'm no artist but have been labouring away behind the scenes for a few hours every week and learning quite a bit as I go along. Please be a bit more patient.
There's been no CMRT F&R update from me but this is because I'm trying to hit these three goals before sending to Bootie for upload to CMMODS. Number 3 is the big one but a huge time saver going forward.
    1) CMRT F&R Update - Done - just tweaking  (I may release this separately so you can overlay it on top of your existing UI mod). Also fixes the mod to reflect the changes that were brought in with the background panels in the update.
    2) CMFI R2V Update - Fixing up some of my mess with shadows and colour correction in the last release.
    3) Mod Unification Project - JuJu had different background textures for each family which made the workload quite high with not a lot being easily transferable between the families.. well without standing out like a saw thumb. I'm switching this around so for example the same M1 Garand Weapon Slot texture will now fit in in CMFI, CMBN and CMFB. Over time there's also been updated different icons for the same weapon, vehicle and special equipment icons between the families so I'm unifying the look there as well. CMFB icons get the preference given the slightly better detail. This also makes life a lot easier if and when future modules are released.
I should says this doesn't mean the all the mods will now look identical, the exact opposite, however the comment elements like weapon slots will carry across the game families. Think of it as the kids are still unique but I'm sending them to school and making them wear something resembling a uniform.
A few things that I'm not continuing or putting on the table now so there is no shocks later on. Most of this is largely due to time and I have no idea how to set up an script for the Paint.net to do some of this repetitive work automatically. Batch processing doesn't appear to be a thing. (I'm not paying subscription money to Adobe).
    - Reducing the options for the "Yellow Weapon Slot" textures to just the red cross option. The many options JuJu provided over the years here is an absolute time sync to create each one by one for every weapon BF has modeled in WW2 era CM2. It's actually an enormous list now! I won't rule it out down the track to bringing some of them back or doing something new here. Vinnart has already had an interesting idea, but I want to get something out sooner rather than later.
    - Portraits - Will fill in the gaps if I can get crafty enough and it meets my own (probably too) high bar. These are tough to get looking right. Backgrounds will be tweaked to sort of match the uniform of each branch to separate them out a touch. (See preview pics).
    - Never going into Cold War or the Modern titles. JuJu didn't and neither will I.

Preview pics (I know about the black line running through the centre panel).
