I fired it up the scenario and was able to call for undirect fire within 165 yards of my FO in the church tower. (The guns were in the back of the map where they were initially, I unlimbered them in place.) However, things got interesting because the gun itself appeared to be using direct fire, and its shells were hitting a building right next to the church that was in the path of the shell's trajectory to the target. Also, I could have sworn there was a bit in the BN manual or on the GUI itself that showed a minimum/maximum range for these infantry guns, but couldn't find anything. They do in fact have a minimum range, just like larger mortars, but damn if I can find it. Maybe in a later manual?

The movement path is too close to the bridge. Bridges always pose problems for vehicles. Move that blue line out a couple of AS and there won’t be a problem, but within one or two AS of a bridge, vehicles usually will move erratically. Those light forest tiles probably aren’t helping anything, either.

tank crew should get back on...

Unless something changed in v.4, the Sarge is correct regarding tanks and AFVs. (I did my own testing a couple of years ago, mainly because some Jeeps and HTs have drivers, some don’t, and it can get confusing who can remount and who can’t.) You can’t recrew ATGs and infantry guns either once you bail them. -
Also, jonz, was it one from BFC or was it from one of us unwashed types? Mark Ezra has really been on his game for making QBs, but if it was from a much earlier iteration of CMFI, then maybe it’s just a goof.
-
Nope, the headgear models are either one or the other. It sounds like *maybe* Fire and Rubble might be changing that a little, but we’ll have to wait and see.

QBs by default need to have AI plans, or they won’t show up in the selection screen. (Well, they’re not supposed to, anyway.) Maybe you didn’t choose the right type (Attack, Probe, Meeting Engagement, etc.) so that the QBs that weren’t working actually had an AI plan for a different type?

One of the early shots when F&R was first announced showed half-destroyed walls. Don’t know what more, if anything, there may be included.

Great minds think alike! That’s what I do when I want a beat up city or town. But I change things up a bit, using destroyers and cruisers (where available), and various calibers of arty to get a variety of craters.

Looks like a good scenario and a cool map, Doctor! Look forward to blowing it up! -
chuckdyke, you could learn a lot by reading the manuals. It sounds like you’re having fun figuring these things out, but you are not always giving out correct information.

Always like it when you blow stuff up real good! -
Thanks slippy. I’m thinking of doing a separate install for the VP pack. Either way, I’ll have plenty of material to pig out on for a long time!

Just as a follow up, I finally decided on IL2 1946 B.A.T., got my new maxed out rig, BAT downloaded and installed effortlessly on it, and new controllers are in the shipping pipeline. (My 14 year old CH stick/throttle/pedals are problematic under Windows 10 and just plain weren’t recognized by Windows or IL2.) Rig is Alienware AMD Ryzen 9, 2TB SSD, 2TB SATA storage. Sprung for Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS and pedals. (Forgot all about Virgil when shopping, cost was about the same for T-master stuff.) Happy flying!

When he was with the Moody Cerulean Men, Gingerbread and the Luftwaffe, or Walrus and the Flugelhorns? -

I use Move like MOS does, but put a 5 sec pause on the second vehicle in column, 10 sec on 3rd, 15 on 4th, etc. Different vehicles types in the same column can screw things up mightily, though! -
