  1. One of those surviving crew named Audie Murphy, by chance? If so, you’re In like Flynn!
  2. Me, and I've used the same viewing tactic: Watch the action, FF through the rest.
  3. What media outrage?!? This is a game and there are no civilians to massacre. All the CM titles take place where civilians live. If you want to imagine they are there, fine. But this still has little to do with Combat Mission. And civilians are worked into SF2 in the sense that the higher the civvie density setting, the less intel the player has. So in this game, civvies are a minus without any way to actually massacre then out of the way!
  4. I’m glad I had trouble with FRAPS or I wouldn’t have ever known about all these alternatives! I feel kind of bad, though, since I’ve been using FRAPS for 20 years, starting with my first “real” computer wargame/simulator IL2 Sturmovik. Like saying goodbye to an old friend.
  5. Lol, more like average sized modder--you just like Goums! I did do some FJs for RT but someone, I think Benpark(?), beat me to it and because he is a mod giant, they were much better and so I never uploaded mine. So, you have been holding out a scenario on us, Aragorn? Why haven't you been giving us any bones about it? (Couldn't resist, my friend.) Btw, with the announcement of CW, and with F&R coming soon, I hope to get the Goums based on the British and the US (along with some "unleavened" uniforms for SF2) out the door in the next month.
  6. Vacillator, BN had some sort of problem with Windows at the time, so it is structured a bit different on your computer. I don’t know how your own computer is set up, but I used to keep all my extra stuff, like mods and new scenarios, etc., and another drive. Eventually I bought an external hard drive, but a thumb drive would work too. I keep a complete back up and all mods, maps, scenarios and campaigns, and every so often copies of saved games (completely removing old turns from long games) on the external drive. I only put the mods I’m interested in now in the data/mod folder.
  7. Hi Phil, it’s good to hear you’re getting back into CM! I modified the Finn mod some time ago, added some weapons and even some uniform bits IIRC. Anyway, let me know if I can help out on any mods you might be cooking up.
  8. Well, that was quick. Nvidia installer wouldn't let the old drivers install because they aren't supported by the graphics card!?!?!?! Ian, I have that app enabled. I'll try that route, although I just might go the Windows Game Bar route.
  9. Hi Schrullenhaft, thanks for getting back to me. I have 3.5.99 version of FRAPS, using the same defaults options as you. Desktop PC, Windows 10, 20Hz x 64 bit with Nvidia Card (457.09 drivers), AMD Ryzen 3900XT 12 core processor. No known program running in background--I only have one other game installed as of yesterday (IL2 1946 BAT), but it's not running and FRAPS works fine with it when it is. I'll try the older drivers and see what happens.
  10. Thanks guys. It's not windowed, Sarge, but it was a good idea to check. Help @Schrullenhaft!
  11. Sarge, yup, starts up fine out of game. Like I said, it works fine for all other games. It's a pisser.
  12. Hey, good to know, Macisle, thanks! I'll check that out. Still can't think of a reason FRAPS doesn't work in CM. Last month with the old computer, other than a different HD and computer stats, it was basically set up the same. Using Windows 10, all the CM games reinstalled, etc. Interestingly, Bil, I was able to use Print Screen then, too, but that doesn't work either now. I can't figure what I could have done that FRAPS no longer works in CM
  13. Sure you can't do that, Bubba? You may have misunderstood. I was just testing it on another scenario, and it works fine bailing out the crew, and putting them back in the start up area with the rest of the troops on that side, etc. It was just funny to watch the Ami AI blasting away at the rear face of the Tiger out in no man's land. I wasn't intending to play the scenario or anything, just wanted to see if it would work as I had outlined above. landser, if you did it the way I laid it out, you end up with an abandoned tank as long as you don't try to put the crew back in it. I think maybe the author in fact only painted an objective square, and not a set-up zone in that square, or you would be able to position it to your heart's content at the start up phase of the scenario (i.e. before you hit the Big Red Button). If you can't do that there, you can go into the editor and position it like you want, or better yet, put a one square set up zone in the same square and then, in game during initial set up you should be able to position it.
  14. Thanks Sarge. I used the latest exe from FRAPS. I tried yours(thanks for that), but still nothing in game. Literally, nothing shows up on my game screen. No fps counter showing, neither screen shots or movie recording work. Nada. It all works as intended for every other game--IL2-1946 and a few others. I'm stumped.
  15. I had to get a new computer last month cuz the old one fried. Just today I re-downloaded and installed FRAPS. It doesn't work in any of my CM games, but works normally in my other computer games. Anyone have any ideas why, and how to get it working in CM? (I uninstalled-reinstalled FRAPS several times, and always with no games running in the background. No joy no matter what I tried.)
  16. Ha, vindicated! I just checked into it, and my suggestion above is exactly what the scenario author did. What do I win? No pic, though, because FRAPS no longer works in my CM games???? It works in the few other games I have installed on this new relatively new 'puter, and certainly used to for all CM games until now. (Just re-installed FRAPS and still nada for CM games.) Anyway, you can check it easily enough, landser, even without going into the editor. You can see how the author did it just looking at it in the normal game set-up. The author used a painted set-up zone one AS, and also painted the same square as an objective. I tried it in the editor and all I had to do was bail-out the crew and move it to the set-up zone for the rest of the troops. When I started the game, everything was just like the scenario. (I used a different scenario to test, and the Amis took out that Tiger sitting in their back yard lickety split! Sarge, I'll get the file to you shortly. I haven't re-installed Dropbox yet. Oh, and dismounting trucks create supply dumps, not tanks, at least in my experience.
  17. Hi Vacillator, yes, I’m up and running. I already had TrackIR 5, so no VR for me. Besides, there’s no way in hell I’d ever be able to memorize all the controls! The Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS are really nice, but neither controller have wheels I can easily use for aileron and elevator trim. As for actual flying, not much so far. Been rebuilding some small, heavily defended ports that I had built and made many missions for back in the day. Went with 1946 BAT, btw.
  18. IIRC, troops in the back of the HT will also be able to fire in Open Up mode.
  19. umlaut, why couldn’t you paint a small set up area for the tank in the same color as your main troops set up area, then in the set up/first turn, bail the tank crew and teleport them back to your troops’ main set up area, and then hit the Big Red Button? Voila...tank is out in No Man’s Land, and the crew is with their buddies who will attempt to escort them back to their tank.
  20. I extracted the scenarios to get a quick look at them/read the briefings. They look good! I think I’ll jump in tonight.
  21. Sounds like fun, Bartimeus! I love playing Red on Red so will check it out this weekend. And congratulations on your first scenarios/campaign!
