  1. Yes, engineers will throw satchel/demo charges at vehicles, and works well if they can survive getting close enough to throw!
  2. I tried it the other day but couldn’t get it to show up. Since the 223 textures from RT and BN all have the same value (pixel size, bit size, etc.) simply dropping the camo-texture hull into the BN mod folder to override the default hull should have worked. It didn’t. There is no need to rename the textures or the skeletons because they all are named the same between the titles. I putted around trying a few things, but gave up. It is probably something simple that I can’t see, and it’s frustrating.
  3. Good read, Widukind. Thanks for posting it. Glad WWIII didn’t come your way!
  4. You can’t really change the dynamics of the smoke columns, only the color of the textures., Slippy. I keep hoping BFC will introduce swirling, thick/thin smoke streams out of the blue some day, like when they added gunsmoke to small arms fire. Since there are different types of smoke clouds in the game already (explosions, tank gunfire) it would seem the coding already exists....but I know diddly-squat about that!
  5. Yeah, I am pretty certain it has to do with the mds/mdr files. I messed with the skeletons, replacing some files with mds/mdr files added in later iterations of the game--probably to fix some bug(?)--but nothing worked. Renamed gear skeletons, and managed to get backpacks on the GI's hips, apparently replacing an ammo pouch or haversack! Looked rather strange. Could be on to something, because the backpacks were a 3D bulge, so the model was altered in some way. The thing is, model swapping between games is possible between BN and FI. I worked with Kohlenklau on a Crete-type mod quite a ways back, and we imported FJs from BN. And he worked wonders with other stuff too, as is usual with him, lol! He came up with some creative ways to simulate parachute drops. Pretty funny to watch! AFAIK, the mod died aborning, I think after GL came out. But I digress, I guess not all models can be swapped between the games. But I'll probably keep putzing away at it anyway.
  6. Me too. Nice close-ups!
  7. Huh, well, they're showing now. Don't know why they weren't...
  8. Hmmm, your pix aren’t showing up, FlatEric999.
  9. Hi jamxo, I wanted to let you know I tried to do a swap of models and uniforms from BN to FI-GL, but had no luck. It turns out going through some old folders from 2015(!) that I had tried this before (and I didn't find them until AFTER I tried to do it this time). I'm not sure exactly why, because I did swap Fallschirmjaeger from BN with Wehrmacht from FI before the latter was updated to include them. Could be several reasons, and I will keep trying off and on as I think of possibilities, but no backpacks for now.
  10. Good story, Hank. Enjoy your retirement!
  11. I have to run atm, but quick answer is "sort of". You have to find the correct skeleton, then copy those (6) file names over to the US counterpart skeletons you want to replace in FI. You also need to rename the actual bmp textures files for the uniforms according to what they are named in FI. Good luck, but if you wait a few hours, I can check it all out and make the changes (assuming it works as I remember).
  12. jamxo, Erwin’s advice is a good start. But it depends on whether we can swap out US infantry models from BN or FB with those from FI/GL. I don’t recall if that is possible, but it should be (pretty certain I swapped Fallschirmjager from BN into FI a few years back, way before the R2V module introduced them into FI/GL). I can check, but it basically involves renaming the skeleton files. That’s because we can’t alter the models BFC has put in the game (not counting some guys who are making new 3D models using a program called Blender), so unless we get a model from a CMx2 game that has pack already on it that we can swap, we’re generally out of luck.
  13. "5 months later I have purchased every single game and module..." Haha, welcome Mograth! You will never need purchase any other games except CMx2 games, and their progeny.
  14. That seems to happen with trees and smoke alot, too. At least for me, lol.
  15. No can do, unfortunately. Programmable AI is only for the opposition. There is the Tac AI, which does control your truppen in order to automatically fire at threats and run away/displace/whatever as the fortunes of combat play out. But you can't pre-program your own troops' actions.
  16. Yeah, that's pretty much a common problem with a simple model swap.
  17. P.S. Reading through this old thread...I did a Maxim swap with the mg42 for the Finns, and I think an AT gun swap of some sort. While you’re working on the Romanians, let me know what you are looking to do with the Finns and I will see if I can take care of it.
  18. Hey Phil, this might already have been started/ done, at least for uniforms. As we discussed offline, when I get the hard drive data back from my fried computer there may be Finns in winter uniforms in there. Pretty certain of it, but it was 3 or 4 years ago, so... I’ll let you know.
  19. Hey Aragorn...Nice! I’ll give it play test go if you need another tester.
  20. RMM, Chuck’s right about the ATG issue in general, but you implied the ammo bearer belongs to that particular gun, so not sure what the deal would be. Is there more than one ATG from the same unit nearby? If so, then the “7” rounds that ammo bearer is showing could be total for that unit, and they are all with the other gun...but that’s a long shot and probably not the situation in your game. As for the 9mm, there is no big ammo swap made when infantry share ammo, but it’s shared basically a magazine at a time as the teams are in proximity and as they fire. So you’ll see the ammo count go down faster on those guys with the ammo, but the out of ammo guys won’t show any increase in their ready rounds. I hope that’s the situation, otherwise there is a real problem.
  21. Vencini, preordering only gets you a few hours heads-up from BFC before the non-preordering people are notified that the game is released and ready to be downloaded. So once the game is released, you can buy it, download it, and install it.
