  1. I have dozens of camo schemes for all the CMSF2 pixeltroops. Made for an ImagiNation sort of thing in an African setting. Still will need the bmps from the game, so not quite Day One from me, but of course any modder/beta tester might.
  2. RepsolCBR, I’m hoping we can swap model skeletons between SF2 and CW for that very reason. Won’t know until we get our grubby little hands on CW. But 37mm and his H&E mod crew can probably figure that out or come up with a genius workaround. The uniform, face, and weapon models are all separate, so the the SF2 modern weaponry won’t be a problem.
  3. I think you are right, Amedeo. Jan/Feb of '80, '81, and '82 will be missing, but all other months are in.
  4. Both my wife's and my oldest son's birthday is March 11. Come, let's get 'er done for them! It's 3 days earlier...we can all get behind that, yes?
  5. Thanks for that. Gaming- and reading/study-wise, I was never too interested in Cold War wargaming, mainly because I assumed it would go nuclear very quickly. So, other than the Mutual Assured Destruction concept, how did Clancy and other Cold War warfare writers get around the nuclear thing? Or did they? Looks like I have some fun reading ahead!
  6. I wouldn't be surprised if they do a lot of modules and special packs for this. This is their first game in which there is no tight (several months or so) time frame. BFC even states outright that this game is a sandbox, which seems to me to be a major departure for them. In keeping with that, it would seem natural to release more forces AND more seasons. This game is going to take off like crazy, judging by the response these last few days, so I think we can look forward to a smorgasbord of goodness following in its wake!
  7. Sorry, I meant it takes three.... (Do we have a bunch of new emojis, or have I just not been paying attention?)
  8. Patience, good sir, there will undoubtedly be a NATO and Warsaw Pact modules. I think this surprise release’s popularity will outshine all previous BFC titles, and I’m speaking as a guy who was never a “Fula Gap” “Cold War Gone Hot” fan (mainly because I could never see how such a conflict could ever not go nuclear). After seeing the potential of the types of forces, battles, and equipment available, and BFCs declaration that this is meant to be a sandbox for innumerable scenarios over a 3 year period, with more expansions to come, we are likely going to see many, many modules for CMCW.
  9. Vacillator is right on the money. No terrain cheat sheet, and because the files would be so huge, there is no feature that allows you to view the whole battle with just one file. Would be nice, though.
  10. I included Maggie! Figured since there are Commonwealth elements in the Caribbean and all.
  11. I’m going for the Invasion of Cuba. I have been playing that out with miniatures, plus doing an air superiority campaign over Cuba using IL2 1946. This was set in mid 70s, right after Nixon’s successful invasion of North Vietnam in 1972. Which I also played out using minis and IL2.
  12. I like that this is basically a sandbox. And what a sandbox! Assuming NATO forces and Warsaw Pact forces eventually are added in modules, the sky is the limit. Stuff I do now in miniatures, like Iran-Iraq War, India-Pakistan, African Bush Wars, Vietnam, the Falklands, Ronnie and Maggie’s joint Invasion of Cuba (hey, it could have happened) are just waiting to be modded. Great times ahead!
  13. That's all I'm saying, too! And a Rhodesia-Angola-Mozambique-SADF module is the logical extension of that!
  14. Holy sh*t, this is even better than I first thought! While I have never been a big fan of a playing a face-off with Russia in the 80's, this will certainly get me into it. But even better, along the lines of what the Sarge is talking about, this will be a great sandbox for all my African Bush Wars and Arab-Israeli Wars stuff I've been putzing with (in modern day settings, of course) with CMSF2. Great times ahead for us and BFC! If it was done that fast alongside development of Fire & Rubble and British MOD work, I can imagine when they get around to early WWII, they could cough up at least one title per year, at least. Maybe we'll get to the early war stuff before I croak after all!
  15. Chocice, hit the Spacebar (at least with the default Hotkeys) and they show up like that.
  16. Sorry, you did, but I forgot to add that I always thought it was intentional. However, I just checked all the WWII titles and the latest module Rome to Victory has FO's available in Specialist Teams for infantry, pzgrenadiers, and armor for Heer, SS, and LW units. No matter the year--from '43 through '45 those units (when available-some German types are not available in various time periods) the FO's are available in Spec Teams. Red Thunder, although only having Heer types at this point, has them in Specialist Teams for Inf, pzgrens, and armor. For FB, only LW infantry and Heer pzgrens had them in Specialist Teams. So now it looks like it was maybe unintentional, and that at least the new module for FB might fix it??? Still don't know if they are modelling German units in Normandy differently because they had many fewer radios at lower levels...but why would the Germans in Italy a year earlier have them? I don't know if before Rome to Victory module they were in Spec Teams or not. Regardless, maybe the patch that will be released with Fire and Rubble (and applicable to all WWII titles, IIRC) will have a fix for Normandy.
  17. weapon, for the Germans, the FO sections are listed under Formations. Heer, SS and LW all have them. As far as I could ever tell, they act no differently simply because they are their own "Formation".
  18. I exploded the scenarios from the campaign a long time ago, and forgot that the de-compiler numbers them starting with "0", so I was actually testing on Battle 8. Still can't figure out where I saw the stats for minimum/maximum ranges on these guns.
