  1. Yes it is - it just depends on your play style - when I play RT I hit the 'Esc' key a lot, when I play WEGO I plot more carefully.
  2. That may be so but it is far from obvious that the colour is black and the shortage of fuel reference is not overly clear.
  3. You are aware that when you have to explain the joke it won't be funny - but just to prove me wrong ... over to you.
  4. This any good to you? http://camopedia.org/index.php?title=Denison_smock
  5. Totally agree ... Lots of threads about: '(insert name of kit to upcoming release) would be really cool' 'CMFB only adds a couple of extra bits of kit ... how can it take so long to release?' The nuances of the TO&E are too often ignored which is a great shame. I hope that your efforts to raise awareness bear fruition.
  6. Sames .... looking forward to this more than anything else in the Red Thunder mix.
  7. Yeah I agree the guy 2nd from right has sideburns below the middle of the ear ...
  8. I've said it before but echoing sburke's comments - the wherewithal (NATO orbats, equipment, UNCONS) to do the recent COIN Ops in Iraq and Afghanistan already sits in CMSF, most of my CMSF scenarios have been based on these events (2 x Iraq scenarios and about half a dozen Afghan scenarios). For me the killer is making the maps ... so as a minimum just porting some features like the 'z' overlay into the editor and giving us things like bridges and water features would make a huge difference. While I would probably buy something related to Iran I would do flick flacks down the corridor just to get some more stuff in the editor so I'd deffo pay full price for something that gave me that ability.
  9. A certain Mr Churchill had this to say about the Battle of the Bulge ... 'This is undoubtedly the greatest American battle of the war, and will, I believe be regarded as an ever famous American victory'. I would be gobsmacked if there wasn't a CW module to cover the time period depicted in CMFB ... so let's just wait for it to arrive rather than getting into a US/CW urinating competition about content in the title (I'm a Brit BTW).
  10. Seconded ... awesome Museum - I visited it twice in the late 80s, the outside area wasn't well policed so I managed to have a good clamber around stuff.
  11. Osprey do a series of Order of Battle books on the Bulge battles which give great overviews and situation maps suitable for scenario designers. I have used them to put together one of the battles that will get released with the title.
  12. I wouldn't call it cinematic but FWIW a quick clip from SeinfeldRules Assault Position mission - these are captures from my planning thread: Assault_Position.mp4
  13. No dramas about the delay - your answer was pretty much as I expected - while I am absolutely a details guy there is a law of diminishing returns sometimes and I absolutely agree that time spent in the editor doing anything other than deriving outline ORBATs is overegging the pudding.
  14. BF are charging 2 cents for opinions now ...
  15. Just played Gorbatzewitch Roadblock and got a Major Victory .... another very enjoyable couple of hours play. I must confess that I thought my favourite scenario size was about Battalion/Battlegroup but each one of these has been brilliant and is slowly converting me to Coy-sized actions.
  16. The only daft thing you did was to take your wife to the pub with you ... I'm still trying to compute how you had a good time ...
  17. Bill, with regard to your last post, it is interesting to see how the picture is developing, this is what you posted very early on in this thread: ENEMY: This component of METT-T will evolve throughout the battle. As of now I know almost nothing, but I do expect to see something like the following: Pz Grenadier or Motorized Infantry Battalion (-) - I expect any infantry to be mounted either on trucks or halftracks. Tank Company (-) Expect to see mainly Panther tanks (perhaps two platoons)Expect to see at least one JagdTiger or SturmTiger (Intel says at least one of these is in the area)Light to medium artillery of at least one battery, could be as many as threeI'm guessing that you are still fairly happy with that initial assessment - my question is, do you ever go back into the QB force pick menu and play around with the points to refine your force strength assessment or do you just stick with what you see and rely on judgement/experience to refine your assessment?
  18. This is a fun scenario - I have played it twice - the first time pretty much going exclusively down the left flank and the second time employing something similar to your COA 2.
  19. Perhaps I should be less excited than I was about tank riders in a Western Front title .. probably a Beta image though .
  20. More like the whole damn forest your luck in that CAAR sucks like mine all the time ...
