  1. To quote the briefing: My post was intended to emphasize that despite its enormous scale, you still need to micromanage each & every unit in this scenario.....The player is expected to know about the tyres and as they are flavour objects they are not hidden in any way. Indeed IMHO, if a player were to attempt this scenario without knowing about the tyres it would be a short and disastrous journey to a rage quit.....They are part of the scenery, not a secret hidden thing (those are discussed elsewhere and only elsewhere).
  2. Scratch that, found it.....Thought you were playing a custom battle on one of the extracted campaign maps, but couldn't find it (as you weren't).
  3. *****Small Spoiler Alert***** But only a small one 'cos it's in the briefing, so I'm pretty sure @MOS:96B2P won't mind! A sniper provides cover while his spotter attempts to save their team leader from the results of his (my) foolish mistake: Do not walk on the tyres!
  4. Are any of your objectives of the 'Occupy' variety at all? If so you may struggle on this front.
  5. A B-3 apparently, according to this site: https://heroesandgenerals.com/forums/topic/79855-soviet-halftrack/
  6. Yup.....Horrible stuff to work with, but it looks the dog's danglies when it's done right. Me being me, I will actually be using a few more shiny things on my own builds:
  7. Yeah but only one kit (in several boxings) and you need to replace the entire running gear.....I'm building one right now as it goes (202128 - 3rd vehicle, 2nd platoon, Charlie Co. ('Death Dealers') 1st USMC Tank Battalion. Vietnam 1969). PS - Here's what a decent high end 1/72 kit looks like these days (before the paint): No aftermarket parts whatsoever on that one.....All out of the box (for $25 US)!
  8. I've got a soft spot for the M47 Patton: Probably because it's one of the few things I can't get a kit of in 1/72.
  9. And the 1979 Steven Spielberg film '1941':
  10. Nudge nudge, wink wink, a nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat! Snap snap, grin grin, wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more?
  11. You young whippersnappers make me feel such a geriatric.....What in the name of the almighty is a Bandicam?
  12. I'm saying no more than I already have! A rather more restrained run is imminent.
  13. Thanks fella.....Sounds like witchcraft to me! Somebody made a tool that was supposed to do it, but I couldn't get it to work.
  14. Putting squads by weapons teams seems to be the key to it.....I've noticed some odd ammo jumps, but assumed it was down to sharing without paying it any particular attention, will keep an eye open in future.
  15. It didn't go well at all. Which TBH is exactly what I expected.....As I said to @MOS:96B2P elsewhere, someone's bound to try it, so why not me!
  16. Oh things can change quite dramatically and really fast in this one! My main advice.....Don't **** off the Russians! I've pushed @MOS:96B2P concept really hard and it hasn't broken under the strain or caused me a severe whinge yet.....Properly impressive that is. A measured approach seems to be the way forward, but there are countless ways you can go about it.
  17. I like some of the stuff JK posts, some of it gets right up my nose.....The world's like that in my experience. +1 to JK for his cratery goodness.
  18. I sometimes like to play real time for platoon level engagements.....The CM:A campaign Salang Blues is one that I usually play in that format, it's a nightmare in WeGo.
  19. So did you buy it yet Chris.....This thing is just made for your dry style! I'd love to hear your comments on what I did in my last run through the TOC.....I fear I may have triggered WWIII within the first six minutes of play!
  20. Matches my own limited experience attempting to crew-swap in CM:FI & CM:RT.....I didn't pay any attention to the size/contents of the resulting supply dumps TBH.
  21. Ah.....The Orange Exclamation Mark Of Doom! Once that starts in conscript units it spreads like wildfire.....Very realistic IMHO. Don't worry.....In CM:SF II he can have SAMs (maybe even a Shilka)! Enjoy the victory (& a fine one it was) while you can and get ready for round two. Thoroughly enjoyable AAR, nicely done.
  22. I look forward to seeing those almost as much as I look forward to the game. I've been mucking about with CM:BS in order to learn some more of the new things I will need to know for CM:SF II.....I'm building a couple of things vaguely modelled on the Chechen Wars, under the working title 'Fragmentistan 2' (The Russians are mostly built with Ukrainians in this one, so hopefully everyone can still feel like the good guys when they play as Red. )
