  1. That is a very, very Western perspective.....These are TURMS-T, they are irreplaceable top end assets. Conscripts & BMPs on the other hand. Not a criticism of anyone BTW, just a comment on perspective.
  2. This guy is very interesting, might be exactly what the region needs.....He's certainly sharp: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-43827660 He kind of reminds me of the late (& in my opinion great) Ahmad Shah Massoud (although he is a Pashto, not a Tajik), multi-lingual, politically astute and willing to speak truth to power.....Hopefully power will listen this time, before it's too late.
  3. We've already seen the various issues Germany has been facing finding equipment for their forces: Now it seems Canada were having similar issues in Afghanistan: Should this be reflected in CM:SF II?
  4. Your lack of night-vision gear is probably going to make this hard work.
  5. Kinda makes me wish we had the tools in CM:A to do a TOC style scenario.....It would suit the game a treat.
  6. I'm putting out feelers on a few other forums I visit.....It would be cool to get to the bottom of the matter once & for all. Based on my own research I'm fully in agreement, that we've seen nothing definitive yet, but I'm not ruling out either possibility just yet.
  7. This is alleged to show T-55ADs in Afghanistan: Not the most helpful or informative image really. I've found one possible candidate in a tank graveyard that is definitely in Afghanistan, but it's a tiny part of a bigger image and I could be seeing stowage boxes or even just junk rather than Drozd.....Also I'd imagine the Americans might well have swept up any interesting & unusual finds in the Soviet tank-graveyards long ago.
  8. Cheers, picking my way through that lot will keep me busy! Found a much better picture of the T-62 with Drozd:
  9. While I'm not doubting the general veracity of your comments, some links to follow would be much appreciated. I'm poring over images of tank graveyards in Afghanistan at the moment, lots of the usual suspects and a few oddities (Renault FT.17!!!), but nothing with a visible Drozd system so far.
  10. I for one am very glad that CM:SF will remain viable for the future.....There's still a lot of good gaming in that title yet.
  11. Is it time for Dozer-Tanks in CMX2?
  12. After a lot of time in Russian forums (& Google Translate), I'm beginning to believe that you may be right.....However I've seen several mentions of supporting reports from veterans (but I've not yet found a first hand account).
  13. If it were sufficiently flexible to do Vietnam or the Middle-East wars too, it would be an awesome thing.....Maybe one day.
  14. Do Bunkers still bed into the terrain? Always hated that TBH.
  15. Interested to see what comments this article generates: https://vk.com/milinfolive?w=wall-123538639_715166
  16. I'd buy that in an instant. TBH once CM:SF II is out I won't have much use for CM:BS.....Maybe a Vehicle Pack might rouse some interest, but only if it would allow me to model conflicts other than the default one.
  17. Fun little fight.....Look forward to seeing how it goes.
