It is also worth pointing out that in the US, a bill is never single topic they often contain multiple other pieces of legislation which are in no way connected to the main goal of the bill.  Legislators who vote against a bill may be all for the primary, but cannot support one or more of the "side issues".

During election years we often see "poison pills" inserted into seemingly benign legislation.  This allows one party to smear the other by stating "They voted against providing healthcare to veterans" without mentioning that there was a poison pill which would ban guns, or take away free school lunches.  This is just an example I made up, but the point is to make voting for a popular bill impossible to swallow for a candidate during a re-election campaign.

I am not saying that this was the case for the 20 republicans who voted against the bill, just pointing out that things are seldom as simple as they seem in Washington.

I love the east front, but one of the reasons RT gets somewhat of a bad rap is because of the timeframe BF choose to use in this game. I think most people would have preferred a 41-43 timeframe for the game, including myself. That being said, RT is a great game, there are a ton of good scenarios and campaigns.

I read a guide on Steam from a player named "randomhan" for improving your FPS in Combat Mission BS, i think it works for any of the CM games. It worked for me in BS and SF2, now i can run big maps with nice FPS and few FPS spikes/dips. 

I use following settings. 

value in "dispaly size.txt" -  4096 2160 144
3D Model quality -  Improved
Texture quality - Best

I did copy the guide from steam Guides and all creds to "randomhan"

This only applies to you if you have horsepower to spare in your GPU

basically this games can only utilize 32bit ram & like one or two cores of CPU. Its prehistoric.
However....VRAM? & GPU no limits.
BUT, they put a limiter on this in order to protect your PC from blowing up.
So naturally, the game 'thinks' your beefy monstrosity NASA Spec PC (in like 04 standards)
just can't handle the intense operation of allocating 4-5GB of graphics RAM
To cut to the case,
before trying this out
- vsync: off
- 3D model quality: fast -> uses CPU
- 3D model texture: Best -> VRAM is not the bottle neck
- Shaders : OFF -> uses CPU, if you miss the shaders just use Reshade.
-VERY IMPORTANT!: turn off in-game shadows / shaders with: ALT + W . the game engine can't handle shadow rendering.
-> seems to use CPU for shadows.
now for the fun part:
(1) find or make a "dispaly size.txt" file in your steam\steamapps\common\Combat Mission Black Sea folder
(2) open it, put in some crazy value like: " 7680 4320 144 " (8k) or " 4096 2160 144 "(4k)
- 3 numerical value separated by space bar : horizontal screen resolution (space) vertical screen resolution (space) refresh rate
(4) if your graphics card can run modern AAA titles just go nuts with 7680 4320 60
- NEVER-EVER lower your screen resolution b/c the UI shrinking. It's counter- intuitive but you gotta increase the resolution!
(5) by some black wizardry, the game is forced to load all the textures, and doesn't ♥♥♥♥♥ out on allocating more v-ram
(6) ???
(7) = more FPS/ Much better graphics
My computer with Ryzen 7 5800X, 32GB RAM, Radeon TX 6700XT was running like 15-30 FPS before.
Choppy as Hell.
with this optimization? While running in 8K(!) now the FPS never goes below 45. with like 30 visual enhancement mods.
won't lie: Stil a bit of stuttering exists while in pre-deployment phase and zooming through the battlefield.
BUT consider this: amazing 8K graphics compared to Un-optimized settings + much better FPS
one drawback: it takes like 10min to start a battle. but hey ho, willing to make a sacrifice.

This got me to remembering.  Recall back in the good old days when the pro-Russian crowd called this all propaganda? Sigh, I wish they were right. They are all pretty much gone now, not sure if we will see them again.
I will miss the accusations of being pro-US and short changing the Russians/Soviets.  The arguments about crappy T-72 spotting…harkens to a kinder gentler time…January.

Hi guys, I've just come across this thread as I don't frequent this forum very much these days.
Firstly I'd like to say that I am very much still alive, the Union soldiers haven't caught up to me just yet!
Thank you for the appreciation of my AAR video's, it's really nice to hear how people have enjoyed them over the years. There are others out there producing great content, Usually Hapless has to be really commended for his commitment to the game and the high quality of his videos. I also enjoy the content of others, particularly Double's and some of the older channels like Rinald's, Ithikial's and his1ojd's.
So to give a bit of context to me, I started my own business in 2014 and it was a slow start which allowed me time to make AAR's of this amazing game. As you can probably guess it's a very time consuming process that took me around 2 months to play and edit each video. As time has gone on my business has taken off and in early 2020 it really started to take up more of my time to the point where I couldn't really commit to making vids. I've always really enjoyed war films ever since I was a kid, the main reason I played the game was to make the vids and recreate the battles from movies like A Bridge Too Far and The Longest Day. So as a result of not making the AAR's, I've also not played the game for 2 years.
I still believe that CM is one of the best games that has ever existed and I still follow it. I am still a member over at the Few Good Men but mostly play Field of Glory II & Medieval with some of the other members. The FOG games resolve much quicker than a CM battle and suit my current lifestyle better.
It's unlikely that I'll be able to make any more AAR's for the foreseeable future, maybe one day when retirement rolls around! (CM3 perhaps?)
So just wanted to say thank you and remove the mystery of what happened to me.

Spot infantry is a general statement. Troops moving in the open yes. Troops firing from cover yes. Troops hiding in buildings and other natural cover are hard to spot. Until they move or fire.

I think Battlefront has clearly taken a stand and for years on this forum has been much better than western media regarding highlighting Russian actions and intentions.  As to a financial position.  I don't think they really are in a position to donate sales however that doesn't preclude you from doing so.  You are free to send $50 to the Ukraine red cross. My wife and I are planning on making a substantial donation that would make my purchase of CMBS look small.

Thought this might be of some interest.  As a break from all the goings on in the world and because it was 70 degrees here yesterday I finally took a trip to the 1st Division Museum and tank park in Wheaton, IL outside the city.  I've been wanting to go for a long time but just never made the journey.  I have always wanted to stand next to/see an M1 for real.  It was very impressive and even bigger than what was in my head.  The M113 was actually bigger than I thought as well.  Apologies for the kids climbing all over, tons of people were out enjoying the warm up.

Having all the WW2 titles is like my own personal harem of super shaggable babes. When I grow bored of my bella Italiana I can head east for some bearskin rug romance with my red haired Katyusha. Then in the winter I hear the trumpets call me to the Bulge where she warms me in her Rollbahny bosom. ...or on a summer day I can sip Calvados and relax with mon amour.
I mean to say that they all are great to play and when you already plan to buy them all, then just have at it and it all gets its own rhythm. New scenarios pop up or campaigns or mods or modules or battle packs and you swing different directions.

If battle front sent all proceeds for the next week involving Black Sea I can’t imagine it’d be much lol. It’s not that type of game.

I really like your ideas. I get that this game is based on a what if situation so it gives a little artistic license to add in what if equipment. So yea maybe limit the amount of APS for the both sides, make it really rare and expensive. I think this along with the LWS removal from the US can really even the game up immensely and I too hope it is done.

And yet we, the West, are to blame. Divided and weak as we are, only interested in bigger economies and woke nonsense, while Putin prepared his moves, not even hiding it, but in plain sight. And it doesn't stop here. Mark my words, it's just the beginning.
