  1. I wonder if they acquired the MG. If the original gunner was killed and these are either the Assistant gunners or another team that picked it up. If so then the guy is actually carrying both weapons and is switching, then the fault is the mg is not showing up on his back.
  2. This game really depends on a degree of micromanaging from the player. There would be an equal situation where one would want the assistants to provide cover fire while the MG is setting up and we would be asking: why are they not shooting? Its Tac AI it will always shoot as a default unless commanded not to by the player. Using target arcs to control engagement ranges is something that needs to be done continuously I'm afraid. My opinion. One thing I do is use the all round shift + target arc drag to set ranges. Its quicker and straight forward on the fly. I rarely use directional wedge arcs as direction of enemy can change often and it takes longer to draw.
  3. I like tangerines better, oh wait now we're talking apples to oranges again.
  4. Don't forget the pak36 comes equipped with a couple stielgranate rounds. Those big honking rifle grenades can be effective at taking out most armour that gets caught in its range.
  5. That could be a plausible situation for the 7.92k ammo. In terms of availability in the game it is present in the resupply platoon trucks, if a resupply unit is included in the scenario design. And halftracks as you discovered. But the average troop transport Opel truck would not have carried it. That is not an oversight but the actual reality at that time.
  6. Which technique worked the best for you? Or maybe all of them. Just curious?
  7. I find there is usually a good reason for that. The HQ tank may have just moved and been revealed. Even a small change to facing or rotation. In this game often anything that moves will be a priority target. And there are enemy infantry nearby. Also, its hard to see, but the ground elevation looks to have placed the HQ tank higher. Line of sight is physically modelled, so (silhouette) could be a contributing factor.
  8. No. They are pretty much static once the game starts.
  9. CM2 is very mod friendly. But the issue for you is perhaps it does not go far enough. To me, an example of a game that is not mod friendly would be the TOW series in my experience. You had to use a third party program to extract the database files. And any unit or formation created had to be added to the Dbase sequentially. Graphics had to be converted to another format using plugins, and then renamed. Scenario creation maps had to be hand painted in photoshop. The scenario creator had its own compiler for the AI, which required scripting using C++ syntax. It was all doable and there was a small group of us that had fun making the mods, But to me that is an example of a game that is not Mod Friendly. Combat Mission series in contrast, very mod friendly.
  10. The most you can do is check your email on one monitor while playing combat mission on the other.
  11. You are not on anybody's clock but your own. Do it for the fun of it when you have time, if you can?
  12. Congratulations. Great concept. Thank-you. You are playing it safe as a mini mod but I can really see this growing into something very inclusive. The Finns received 15 markIV G (no schurtzen), You can add that if you wanted some more armour. Machine gun companies were split into platoons supporting a rifle company so the German order should work OK in scenario creation. If you can add the PM1910 maxims that would be great for them as it was the standard issue Finn HMG. The Russian HMG's in-game would work. SVT use was sporatic and although the finns tried to set them up as a supplied and supported rifle it was not very successful. Mosins were the mainstay rifle issued long before and during the continuation war. DP LMGs were liked and scavenged when possible, might be worth adding them. Like the SVT, DP's were used as long as the squad could keep it maintained without becoming a burden. Oh there are so many possibilities in this mod, I salute you.
  13. That is correct. It is a no exit before x:xx(min time) providing the conditions of the trigger are met. Once the condition is triggered, and x:xx(min time) has been reached then the unit moves. If the conditions of the present trigger is still not met by y:yy(max time) then the script is activated anyways because the max time condition is reached, meaning the unit will execute its move at that point. Triggers are linear, the previous script must be executed before the next trigger is available in all cases.
  14. If it's crucial to refight on the same map, and l'm sure this crossed your mind already. Create a battle damaged version of the map. Complete with craters and rubbled buildings. Add a couple burning vehicles of the type that may have been in the previous battle. It's not perfect but it does convey the effect of the campaign battles advancing in the sequence after the initial engagement.
  15. I am not so concerned about about the kwk 37 having anti tank capabilities in 1944 (limited AT capabilities). It was very respected in North Africa from the account I read. However, I do wonder about the penetrating hits on the 234/3. You didn't show the damage screens in your captures. I would be curious to know if the engine registered damage or any compartments. I assume those are 37mm hits from the front, straight through the spare tire in the back. It appears to have missed the crew, and ammo. But it may have knocked out the radio compartment, and damaged the engine. If it missed everything, then yes there is a problem.
  16. And there are those who refer to a car as a buggy.
  17. There could be a flaw in that, because there are some very cheap but effective rock/paper/scissor units in game as in real life, and again based on the location and scenario design this could be unfair. I think it just comes down to scenario design with the tools at hand as they are now. Manageable Occupy objectives, and if clearing them becomes a tedious affair for ineffective remnants then consider making more objective blocks for the same area as rocketman pretty much said. As for the exact size, depends if it is a built up or open area.
  18. Yes thinking that as well. Objectives could be broken into smaller blocks if required. Also wouldn't want ratios to negate the scenario and AI surrender if there is an intact Pak left ready to take on a platoon of tanks. Although discounting a single crewman is OK.
  19. And here I thought you were inquiring about escalators
  20. .... ^^^ True. For now its just the kohlenklau and his gang for a north africa flavour.
  21. North Africa 1941 would be a fantastic proving ground for moderate sized armored clashes, which would work well in the CM2 world as it stands now with their large map capability. I think Libya would be a processor friendly environment. This was a time when the Italians were also very much a threat to the Commonwealth forces during that period. For a brief time, the M13/40 tanks and their 47mm guns were noticed. So much so, that the CW incorporated captured stocks of them to augment their formations at the time. Lucky for the British, the Italian M13/40 crews only received a month of training and did not establish themselves very well. Roll the clock forward a bit and the general grant tanks enter, more British cruiser tanks and the Sherman. Protracted armored warfare is fun. You have less lethal weapons slugging it out at longer ranges with room to maneuver. Not in all cases ofcourse, rough terrain, elevations, defensive positions, and built up areas could limit avenues as they greatly did. Even so it would be the Common Wealth dug in for the most part which is also exclusive to the period.
  22. Tannenbrg line, Estonia actually. Only available on DVD, or Kodi if you have streaming set up on you PC or android device. Maybe they'll get a full youtube version. Here's 10 minutes bellow. Not bad.
  23. I couldn't find it yet on Kodi for you streaming peoples. But if you want a foreign volunteer Waffen SS movie check out "1944". Its a pretty fair flick.
  24. I just watched "1944" on exodus streams, I couldn't find My Honor was loyalty. I suspect 1944 is a better movie than My Honor. Bigger budget, the story was somewhat clever with a twist in perspective about halfway through. Still not as deep as generation war but the battle scenes were well done for what they had.
  25. nah, just boys doing their comedy routine. One would think they rehearse these things. But its more like they "lie in wait" for the next victim
