    My work will be a touch later than Frenchy's but I want to unify it a bit so there is one point of call for the weapon slots and silhouettes across all WW2 titles. Weapon slots will still need some game family distinctions given there's three unique backgrounds across the 4 titles.
    Still, plenty of progress has already occurred.

    Um... JuJu has provided me with the .psd files to carry on the mod (from R2V) and I've been working on the same thing. Still working... but got the first pass on all silhouettes and weapon slots completed. I do like your MP3008's though. Tough little blighters to get right. Merge each other's efforts?
    I'm also trying to take this opportunity to unify the common elements across all WW2 family titles. I've get no desire to go to the modern titles.

    Still tweaking the ME soundscape for WW2 battles (there's at least two different versions for the BAR in the following vid for instance), but I think I'm getting there...

    This icon mod is a low visibility icon set for RT/FR for people that spend lots of time at ground-level, or near it and find the icons can sometimes be distracting from what's happening on-screen.
    Soviets are dark red, Germans grey with an option for grey-green. Opacity is something like 40% of original.
    I generally plan big orders at start, then mainly stay near the ground level. The icons were getting in the way. These are more low-key for the ground-level player.
    Harder to see, at times from higher heights but still there- that's a given. These are tailored to where I almost can't see them, but still can- almost out of the way, but still providing the needed information. Soviets are a bit tough to see in the red Setup zones, but are good once the game starts.
    Probably will work with stock RT, but I can't go backwards from FR now.
    I'm attempting to attach them here, until I can figure out where to upload stuff now (Mod site seems down)...

    Hello again, with the release of Fire and Rubble I have been working a lot on adapting existing mods to the new module. That includes the great GUI mod by Juju who has sadly ended support for it.
    I have added or adapted weapon icons from other iterations of Juju's mods, as well as branches, ranks, etc. However I will tell you that I have made some changes to it that suit my preference more, so you may have to dig into the files to revert to default.

    Holy crap! This is big news! I’m surprised this managed to slip by unnoticed by many. Understandable with the FR frenzy. 
     
    A performance upgrade would be major in my opinion. To me, it seems like there is a lot more that would benefit from said improvement, beyond just a simple player quality of life FPS boost.

    As a general comment, before reporting something as a possible bug, remove ALL your mods, every one. Move them somewhere safe like the desktop, then check what you saw again. 
    There is no testing on new modules done with any mods installed at all, so there is no guarantee that any existing mods will still work. They may, and many do, but they might not.

    This is the most important statement that has been said in weeks.
    For all those that want to see the glass half empty.  None of you want to see the glass as to how it is overflowing in that none of those other companies or games does this. None
    What I like about Steve is he has a view of how things should be and he goes on the path that he believes he should follow and he does not allow himself to get diverted off the path by the peanut gallery that think they can proclaim themselves as experts and try to push their own views.
    Also, I do recall many a quick update release of fixes if there is some that are found shortly after a game goes out to the masses.  Then what happens is a few months go by and then some additional issues are finally discovered and these are the ones that do not get addressed normally right away since by then they are focused on another game.
    So how can these type of issues be game breakers if it takes months after all the hours that players have played to finally figure out what is not right. I agree that it would be nice to get them fixed right then, but I have never lost any sleep over how the game was working  and always found ways to still play it without it affecting the results too much.

    I don't think that's fair. I work in software and sometimes bugs are incredibly hard to recreate and from what Steve posted a while ago it took he and Charles 5 hours to find the cause, meaning it was an absolute pig to find because of the rarity of it occurring. They may well have tried to replicate it when it was first reported, couldn't due to lack of info ("x doesn't work" with no supporting detailed information is unfortunately the norm), and other more important things pushed it way down the list. The difference here it appears is they saw it themselves and then managed to track it down.
    Software is complicated, I have 20+ years experience and I still ship stuff with bugs because, well, deadlines. I appreciate that they take their time and get it right, it's a rare thing in this industry.

    This poor PzIV (/s) gets hit by two tanks but shot at by three plus a PIAT. I think all four of them will claim credit for the kill. When I first watched I was convinced it was the infantry that scored the big hit but I was wrong.
