December Normandy Bones

Recommended Posts

The armor and the environment look great. The soldier models are fantastic, but the identical postures are a little jarring. Is there any chance of some random variation eventually? Granted I almost never zoom in that close when I am actually playing.

In screenshots the soldiers do look too much like clones. However in game with the animations playing you will notice some variety. Right now there are 5 variants when the soldier is idle, for instance. So although the soldiers are in the same basic pose they make different subtle movements, like looking at the gun, touching their helmets, etc.

There are also different uniform colors and helmet camou.

How did you know? They are the third "faction" in the CM:Space Lobsters of Doom.

Ok sweet, so it must be comprised of Elite Lesbian warriors. Sounds great, looking forward to it. :D

So I was pondering the whole ammo question I brought up above (if additional ammo storage would be available to formations without vehicles - could be stored at an OP/CP, bunker, certain buildings, ect.) and I realized something:

Could ammo be added to the fortifications like that shown in the screen with the 88? There could be one action spot in it where an infantry unit there can acquire ammo. It could be a special type of fortification available at setup, should the scenario designer include it.

I don't think it would be telling tales out of school to suggest the website has been largely held up waiting for long-anticipated replacement game graphics. Seeing 2nd generation Bocage hedgerows instead of the current 3rd generation models would've only upset you. :)

the little pixeltrupen do indeed go through the fence opening. Which creates a nice, natural choke point for enemy machinegunners :D

Steve

I may be wrong but the gate seems to have its the vertical wooden beam missing. That is the one were the hinges are. it looks like a drawing mistake.

Don't think that the MG 34 or 42 gunner cares about it.

Apart that very small detail, I have been in wonder at the others shots details. What a long and fantastic way has been done with the graphics since Combat Mission Overlord. Thumb Up. Can't wait for the release.

Just looking back at the PZ IV shot, I am just wondering wether the crew, in the final release, will be fitted with earphones, not to speak of the throat microphone, so small that no one will notice. These earphones are most of the time seen in shot showing a tank commander lurking out of its turret hatch. They are almost a trade mark of the German tankers.

Well, maybe, but for CMSF they had these cool render graphics of vehicles and small arms, why not put up a website with that, a feature list etc and then let the screenies trickle in :P this entire year we've had like what, 10 screenshots in total and very little additional info?

Besides, the 2nd generation bocage hasn't scared me off yet :P

cf my post #27.

I've raised it internally too.

Considering most people wouldn't notice and the fact that they'd have to have a different model and texture that wouldn't show earphones come into operation when the crew bailed out I doubt it's high on the list.

And the headpieces better look like this or the entire game will be ruined for everyone and I will never buy another BF product!

Well I must say they don't look anything like 1940's technology to me.

Next you'll be suggesting they need to be Bluetooth (or perhaps that all German AFV must be iPhone/ iTouch/ iPod compatible)? :)

*Disclaimer: Below is in jest*

Graphics-Schmafix, the hard core crew is sitting here drumming our fingers on our desks waiting for some real bones relating to the inner workings of this much anticipated title.

I care not for hi-res headset wires or gate hinges, I want some meat and potatoes with my bones, save the gravy screen shots for the website when it launches!

*End jest*

Seriously though, this game is going to look awesome no matter what at this point!

While I would crave some bones like the previous ones talking about QB setups and such, me thinks the first release is not far off, so I will wait.

I think it would be cool if they scanned the horizon with binoculars when unbuttoned...

Mord.

P.S. I think it'll be REALLY cool when I send a Panther crew to hell with a well placed shot!

You mean you want a cutaway animation of the crew being escorted into Hell by demons with flaming pitchforks?

Michael

*AHEM*...HELL yes!

No...I just can't wait to start blowing up the Germies and their toys.
