I played Second Front to death, 30 years ago.

If they go down around a weekend they will not be brought online before Monday morning UK time. I don't think that is an acceptable service level for a game server.
 

I think we are missing the point of wargaming.  What would happen if Battlefront modeled the Israeli army in a fictional battle against Syria?  Does that now make the game a referendum on Israel?  Does it imply a stance by the game company?  I say no.  Playing Combat Mission is akin to playing a miniatures game in real life.  You have your armies and you fight it out.  It doesn't matter what happens in real life.  We play video games because we want to play war without the dangers of war.  Battling it out in a virtual Ukraine has nothing to do with what is happening in real life.  Has anyone looked at Command Modern Operations?  Some of the scenarios for that game are almost real time.  I just don't see a connection for developing a game and support for Ukraine or Russia.

It's because Ukraine is losing and the war may be over before the end of 2024. It won't look good releasing a game about the war in Ukraine after they surrender or give up a large chunk of their territory.
I'm not pro Russia just calling it like I see it. Bring on the hate mail.

While I can understand peoples frustration and I do think communication could be better. I do not think mud slinging by either side does any good at all.
Everyone needs to take a step backwards, after all this is just a game we are talking about. If you feel angry, frustrated, bitter, or whatever, then maybe its time to take a break, play a different game, spend more time with family and friends, or something similar.
Whatever you choose to do, there is absolutely no point in coming on here and complaining. There is no proof that it makes a blind bit of difference to release schedules or projects.
 
I've been playing CM games since CM1, I have all CM2 titles and packs, I will continue to buy whatever is offered, whenever it is offered.
I still have not had time to play every campaign, scenario or battle, so there is still plenty to do. Plus there are also people continuing to make great campaigns such as George MC, Dragonwyn, Paper Tiger, and Frank is soon to deliver a paid for campaign for RT.
 
If I get fed up with some of titles due to bugs, AI or boredom, then I go and play something else, or go to the gym, have a walk.
Life is to short and precious to get hang up on a computer game, surely

Yep like 90% of PUPs are fine. Mostly means the AV software never heard of the .exe and wanted to flag it for users just in case you dont recognize it and its harmful.

I googled but as you say there are a lot of books on the subject.  If you ask a specialist book shop, like for example https://www.foyles.co.uk/ here in the UK, they may be able to source it, given enough info - like more than a brown binding 🤔.

Yes, make an exception.  Had same problems with AVG years ago and had to make exceptions for all CM games.

BFC, I'd just like to say that I have a large backlog of as yet unplayed computer and board games, so go ahead and take your time and get it right.

PS. There is some kind of vBulletin native app for the iphone. No clue what it does or how it works, but if at all, that would be the only option we'd go for, if at all. It's not anything on the radar anytime soon, though. If you ask me, mobile devices need to adapt to the net, not the other way around.

There are, of course, a good number of YouTube videos about the Cold War, including this guy's channel, who has some intreresting ones based on his own experiences.

I thought people play these games for a moment of fun and to see how they cope with a challenge and not always for the chance to win the battles.

Dude, the disease affects roughly 0.000326% of the Chinese population and people are calling it a pandemic.....It's utter bollocks, just like SARS, Sharia dominated no go zones, The Steele Dossier, chemical attacks on Douma, The Deal Of The Century and a host of other BS that the MSM keep ramming down our throats in the hope that while we are choking on it, we won't notice that their lords & masters are robbing us blind.

Terrifying. 

At the moment, I am playing City Skylines.  I am only an average player, but use a long list of mods.  But I am always amazed what the truly gifted can create in this game.  I am doing my first Winter city.  I moved from some place where it always snows to never snows.  So, now it is is quite scenic! 
I have some older rail games.  RTD/RT2/RT3 but I have not played for a while.
Also, I like VP4 (Virtual Pool 4) ... talk about physics modeling!  Pool is great.  You don't have to study the table an hour before taking your shot.
