Kevin2k got a reaction from DMS in FORECAST SERIES: Putin’s Likely Course of Action in Ukraine
Man, do I also belong to the "we" and the "our" you are writing about? I am from the same country, you know? I have no solidarity with it. Still in the previous ****-storm, and THEY are ramping up the next one already (or just bluffing about it). But I will have no part in any of it.

Kevin2k got a reaction from Warts 'n' all in Broken Shields Campaign - Snow Blind Mission: Spotting Bug
All .50 Cal weapons in CMCW and CMRT had thermal vision enabled in error. CMCW was patched/fixed earlier. CMRT is not...

Kevin2k got a reaction from Strykr45 in Panel Mod 'Red Thunder Style'
Combat Mission World War 2 series Panel Mod 'Red Thunder Style' v1.0
For the Sim/Game "Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy + Final Blitzkrieg + Fortress Italy".
A graphical modification of the user interface panel. This panel is always visible at the bottom
of the screen, when playing this game.
- Based on the panel appearance that came with Combat Mission: Red Thunder (v2.10),
but adjusted to the slightly different text location and colors hardcoded in each WW2 game.
- Special equipment icons (like binoculars) have been slightly adjusted,
and are included in this package.
- Silhouettes and green/yellow weapon icons not included in this package.
All credits to the Battlefront company for supplying the original images,
from which the modded ones were derived.
Only for use in the Combat Mission games, other then that, this mod is free and non-profit.
This mod cannot be held responsible for harm done to pixeltruppen.
Copy one of the extracted .brz files into your mod folder, or into your install folder
in the data\z\ subfolder.
z_CMBN-Panel-Mod-RT-v10.brz is for Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy
z_CMFB-Panel-Mod-RT-v10.brz is for Combat Mission: Final Blitzkrieg
z_CMFI-Panel-Mod-RT-v10.brz is for Combat Mission: Fortress Italy
You can also copy over the image and readme there, it does no harm. But you should only copy
over the single matching .brz file for each game.

Kevin2k got a reaction from Sgt.Squarehead in Exactly where can I find BMP names for uniforms in the game?
Hmm, that is a tempting offer you made there... Free even, that is not very expensive... very tempting.
But what if I made counter-offer? Like, suppose I would send you the file lists of all CMx2 games. If you take all, I could even throw in a bonus excel sheet; with the vehicles present in the four WW2 CM games.

Kevin2k got a reaction from Redwolf in NATO module; why I think the dutch should be in.
I wondered, it seems to be like this
British - L1A1 to L85A1 -> in service 1985
Germans - G3 to G36 -> in service 1997
Dutch - FAL to Diemaco C7 -> selected for service 1994

Kevin2k got a reaction from dan/california in Battlefront's first Super Bundle is now available.
Hey, I read that Niven Footfall book like six months ago. It is good. A bit slow at times, but a finale with lots of action. It is notch below my favorite books of him: "The mote in gods eye" / "Gripping hand" and "A world out of time". But these ones are weirder then Footfall, as they have no normal earth setting.

Kevin2k got a reaction from A Canadian Cat in Too many "bundles": How do I start from zero and get to play Market Garden?
you would need these two:
CMBN Base Game
CMBN Market Garden Module
- or this single one -
CMBN BIG BUNDLE
PS You will always have the necessary files, that is never an issue.

Kevin2k got a reaction from A Canadian Cat in Too many "bundles": How do I start from zero and get to play Market Garden?
Nope, you don't need it. At the time I bought Market Garden long before Commonwealth.

Kevin2k got a reaction from Vergeltungswaffe in CMSF2 Quick Battle Map Previews
CMSF2 Quick Battle Map Previews
For the Sim/Game "Combat Mission: Shock Force 2"
Consisting of 141 images in jpeg format.
Note that the system used for rendering the maps had its limitations in 3D Graphics power. So as usual the Combat Mission game engine automatically reduces detail in the scene. Some foliage further up may not be visible and textures in the distance become low resolution.
Only for use with the Combat Mission games, other then that, this package is free and non-profit.

Remarkable! I suspect the recent bits of information about "Combat Mission Professional" inspired people to make that particular footage.

The files are still available there. :)

Kevin2k got a reaction from Probus in List of all the latest versions?
I tried it once. The steam CMSF2 has the 'Game Files' folders as a subfolder of the Game folder, where the executable is. Same goes for the Slitherine version of CMBS. They do not use the My Documents folder like the Battlefront versions.
EDIT: As for Erwin's initial question. This page seems like a good reference for all the latest version numbers:

Kevin2k got a reaction from Artkin in Fire and Rubble Possible Bugs
It is not really a 'bug', but inconvenient. The following cannot be purchased as single vehicles in QB, but only as part of a formation:
- Elefant
- Sturmpanzer IV Brummbär mid/late
- Hummel
- Pz IIIM Flame

Kevin2k got a reaction from c3k in Moire Removal - Worghern Mod
By request I uploaded a tutorial of a Moire reduction method to my website. It is still the same thing as I described two years ago, in this topic. It has a preview image of the in-game view before and after the modification, photoshop files and a photoshop action.
It can be found here:
http://www.gb-homepage.nl/index.htm
Select the Combat Mission section in the left navigation pane there.
Hope it is clear enough, and that it may give people a compromise that is more pleasant to look at.

Kevin2k got a reaction from Monty's Mighty Moustache in So you just got your hands on CMCW...now what? Designers Q&A thread.
It is not a block or DRM, at least nothing more then it used to be, just a minor change to a format. You are misstating the intent. If they wanted to block/DRM you really, and put effort in that, it would be different.

Kevin2k got a reaction from STAGEMAN in increasing the Level of detail
I am aware what I just wrote was negative feedback. But it is factual. And I made sure to add constructive advise. Maybe such advise was out place to a game developer. But honestly, from what I saw in CMCW v1.00 it seemed like someone should say it.
So I am wrong you say, because of "techno-wizardry you don't understand" Fine. (do understand that answer leaves some doubts.)
I really want CM games, and especially CMCW, to be in the best state they possibly can. And I see the quality in the engine and in the missions and TO&E. And I appreciate that people put in personal effort to make CMCW happen, as you said you did, despite Battlefront working on other things as well.

Kevin2k got a reaction from Petrus58 in CMSF2 British Green Vehicles mod
CMSF2 British Green Vehicles mod
For the Sim/Game "Combat Mission: Shock Force 2".
Variants for all British vehicles in Green color.
The color was chosen based on averaging some photo sources and considering
the dust in a dry environment. In hindsight this color matches the stock green
"enforcer" remote weapon station texture exactly.
The common black camo over-spray has not been added in this set.
Included vehicles(10):
uk-challenger2
uk-crv-scimitar
uk-crv-spartan
uk-crv-sultan
uk-fv432+bulldog
uk-jackal
uk-tum-ht
uk-tum-st
uk-warrior
uk-wmik
+ some better fitting vehicle gear textures
All credits to the Battlefront company for supplying the original textures,
from which these modded ones were derived.
Only for use in the Combat Mission games, other then that, this mod is free and non-profit.

Copy the extracted files into your mod folder, or into your install folder in the data\z\ subfolder.
The naming of the files contains the mod-tag "mountains". This way they only override
the stock vehicle textures when the terrain is set to "mountains", like in the Quick Battle menu.

Kevin2k got a reaction from Bufo in Fire and Rubble Possible Bugs
I just did a test with a purpose made map. Soviet scout cars and German Kubelwagens separated by a mortar smoke screen. The scout car HMG gunners see and shoot through the smoke screen.
This was also reported as bug for Cold War v1.00 and current v1.01, as shown with M113 HMG gunners, just this week. I don't know if the problem is isolated to just M2 .50 cal HMG gunners.
