I think differently  When they say 'things are looking good for a release in 6 months', you seem hold that as a promise. It is not a promise. It's a roadmap with a 'guestimation'.
Conceptually there might never even have been any delays in the development, there were just increments of work progressing at a invariable pace. Other work taking priority it means that development was perhaps not as fast as could be theoratically possible, but I assume nobody did ever 'delay' the development just because they felt like frustrating you / insisting that the game should be released later without a rationale.
Well, to feel frustration is someone does to himself. I can't feel frustrated for you, nor can you for me (luckily :)). Games can't feel frustrated, or infer frustrations upon someone else.
So you choose, perhaps subconsciously, to be frustrated.

Fine - sit there and imagine Steve rubbing his hands thinking 'let's bid for a military contract just so we can delay the module for a couple more months.'
I agree that a comment was made that said that COVID had allowed BFC greater focus on development but those of us that create content and kick the tyres around things have had other concerns as outlined.
Stuff happens and RL is complex - this has been a difficult year for most if not all of us.  My wider perspective is that I'm lucky to be alive and therefore banging on about whether a game module is going to release in the next few weeks or not is very much lacking in perspective.  So yes it is about perspective and as I've explained I've got a lot more skin in the CMRT module game than you will ever have.  Mine is a sh1t tin of work, yours is, when you're going to spend 50 bucks or whatever it is going to cost.
So - you're looking forward to the module ... trust me, we get it but please let's have less of the conspiracy theories about why it hasn't been released.

Guys, I have a suggestion. Put Aragon on your ignore list. It is much more pleasant to read the forum without reading his complaining. I only see his BS if one of you guys quote him - if you all place him on ignore I wouldn't even have to see that

To be precise you choose to be frustrated because you expected and assumed this module would have been out for years. While it was announced officially somewhere last year iirc?
Of course already long time ago, probably after release of CMRT, there had been 'bones' that a module was on the roadmap for CMRT. And it has been worked on for a long time, and yes priorities change and the work on the RT module didn't get the highest prio. So of course we all get that it is a bummer that this module hasn't been out sooner.
But I haven't read much promises. BFC always says it will be ready when it is ready, which is the most important promise imo.
Just accept that they don't and will probable never (again) do promises regarding when exactly something will release, if it isn't finished yet. Perhaps for military contracts they do, but that's probably how those contracts work.
You don't have any contract for the release of this module by any date.
It is much more relaxing to just accept how the world works, instead of trying to change or fight (and or get worked up) about the fact that this module hasn't been released yet.

Sure - but we could all take our tinfoil hats off about Steam, military contracts et al.  The latter reminds me of those discussions when Shock Force came out ... remember those ... "It is a click fest", "Battlefront is chasing military contracts"  Then remember that they all ended up in the Gamesquad Forum talking to each other and see how that went.  Remember that the introduction of real time play was described as all sorts of doom and gloom while conveniently forgetting that WEGO was still an option and still is ...
The brown smelly stuff bust bottom line is that this module is being worked on, it will be next out of the door and as the saying will probably go ... it will be ready when it is ready.
To give you some context - I have a scenario which I hope will release with the title - I started it in 2018, it is still not ready for release because of various issues.  This year alone, I have spent the equivalent of working every day, 24 hours a day for a month and a half and probably longer testing it, tweaking it, retesting it and stripping out every single unit in the scenario and replacing them again and then testing and tweaking again ... no fun when you have a regiment-minus of Germans and about the same on the Soviet side on a map that is roughly 3.5km x 3km - and that is smaller than it was originally made because of various issues identified in testing.  Then of course there is the time spent researching the scenario (it is historical) and making the map and then the time spent by the testers opening up the scenario, trying to play it and hitting the various issues.
I won't even go into the work that other contributors have put into the module which make my effort above seem a small drop in the ocean.
To conclude - the thing is being worked on and there is no "good reason for delay if you want to find it."

Really looking forward to Final Blitzkrieg as the British in Northern Germany. Now if only they would add the Russians to Shock Force 2...

I just try to get a squad close to the house I wish to enter and use the target command. If they're close enough and have hand grenades they will usually lob a 2 or 3 of them during a one minute action phase. Rush your boys in there next turn while they're stunned and they will finish the job. It's not a breaching charge but it will suppress/kill the enemy fairly well. Alternatively you can split the squad have one group suppress and the others charge. This worked wonders for me in the Aachen Campaign in final blitzkrieg. It's not safe work but as aforementioned urban battles are nasty stuff in war.

What always sticks out to me is that the animation for firing from half-tracks overly exposes the crew. Since exposure = death a better animation would improve the utility of the HTs. I played around a bit with the animation files (after getting inspiration from the animation mod) and was able to get folks in the HT to not stand when firing and they were much less likely to be killed. Unfortunately it broke other things.

Any a future update a change to firing stance from vehicles would be nice.

It depends on how they die and what they accomplished. I generally try to take lower casualties as NATO then I do as the Allies or Germans in WW2.

I am still working on this and the updated missions are being play tested. I have a few missions left to update but progress is being made. I will admit this campaign is taking a backseat to my gardening work, I have a large family and with all the fun from Corona, I want to make sure I can keep them all fed.

It is more than a little surprising that I've been gone since 2014 and to come back to see nothing new with CMRT six years later. BFC haven't been slacking however, given all the developments with CMFI, CMBN and the arrival of CMFB afterward. That's a lot of work though not so much for the Eastern Front. CMBB was a masterpiece, however, so I'm confident BFC will make up for the drought. At least they kicked off the new engine on the Russian front in 1944. Barbarossa is overblown 😃
Hey, it could be worse. It could be Bannerlord. Love that game, but the wait was insane.

I think steam could possibly help but there's so many games on there now it could get overshadowed. There's a ton of "hidden" games on there that are never being promoted. But with that being said... You know how I found out about this series? Searching on google for a Star Wars Battlefront review video and clicking on the wrong link.

It has nothing to do with CMBS being unsuccessful, but with whole Combat Mission being too unknown. Because people waited for that CMFI expack for about as long. And will wait for CMFB module for 5 years too. They have way too many separate titles but not enough people to produce content people actually WANT to buy. I WANT to BUY. There's demand, but Battlefront cannot fulfill it.
I still believe Battlefront keeps shooting itself in the foot by staying away from Steam or EGS. Yes they will take the cut. But that will give a huge enough boost to sales to counter that.
Look what wonders that has done to DCS World. In 2013 or so that game was barely anything more than a basic A-10C sim and a bunch of arcade planes on a single map. Then they went on Steam. Now it's a huge library with dedicated teams per plane and terrain.
Hot damn, Battlefront teamed up with Slitherine and got themselves a real military contract because Slitherine knows how to sell such things.
Word of mouth is not enough when you force people to buy an expensive game from a "Web 1.0" website.

I find they never hit with their bombs and seem to machine gun random little bits of infantry instead of priority targets. Am I missing something here? It almost seems like a waste of points to bring air power to a battle in all of the ww2 games. Air support changed the battlefield in ww2 but I'd honestly take arty over air support anyday.

Honestly no idea what you are talking about...

Honestly, all my troops are green (which I think is actually @benpark's work to try and balance out the forces on both sides), unsure what it does for motivation of the German troops in May 1945. But I think what you are seeing in this battle is more because of the TacAI changes for troops behind hard cover. As I mentioned last month, expect to expend an awful lot of ammunition to dislodge enemy troops in urban battles if you only have small arms. If this was a battle in an open map I think you'd see my troops running (away from the enemy) quite a bit more.

This is true. I think I watched one of your video's (based on your sn) where you absolutely pounded the Germans across a river in CMFB. It also requires the opponent to spend points on AA.

I recall in one of the WWII titles (I forget which) Steve told scenario designers explicitly to leave air power out of 'official' scenarios. He considered close air support along the line of contact of ground forces to be a-historical, for the most part. He just included air power in WWII because CMSF modern war had got air power so he left it in as a sop to QB players just for fun. Was it game engine upgrade 3 when they removed the player control over aircraft targeting from WWII titles?
Modern war of course is very different, they've even included drones directly controlled by the ground troops.
