Yep, it easily cost 100‘000 plus to clear up his mess. The bill is, of course, on the tax payer.

Loads of ammo in your basement are explodeable.
Small arms and ammo are at least stealable.
Did he have any qualification to drive his tank? I mean, if he had crushed some people’s kids or my car, I would not have said „Don‘t worry. It’s just him and his Panther“.
Enough reason to worry for normal people in a normal housing environment?
And, since „the other side of the pond“ admires personal responsibility, why did he not properly declare his collection and tried to find a proper solution?

@kohlenklau just started a project to create early war scenarios. IIRC, he plans to base it on CMFI. Anyway, search for his thread or contact Kohl for info.

I think, the „why“ would be pretty obvious, if you would actually read the thread.
Otherwise: Who is „we“? So far, Chuck and me discussed my initial remark. But you are welcome to join, if you would like to contribute.

IIRC, Steel Panthers PBEM was pretty straight forward, as you would expect from an „Igo-Ugo“ game. Though I can’t quite remember, how opportunity fire and reaction moves were handeled.

Yep, that is the updated version. Unfortunately, the original mod description got lost, when Bootie migrated the stuff from GaJ‘s site to the FGM site.
If it is of interested: There should be another „splash mod“ with the overture from „A bridge too far“ on the FGM site. Fit‘s nicely to MG scenarios. If you don‘t find, drop me a line.

And finally I found the time to convert and upload some songs, including Lili Marleen, D-Day Dodgers, Erika, It's a long way to Tipperary and some others.

Well, there is an easy fix. Just create a collection of „force specific backgrounds“ with all the pic‘s you want, submit it to @Bootie and ask him to upload it to the CM Mod Depot.
Have a look there first, you will find plenty of examples of force specific background mods for other CM titles in the Mod Depot.

Eh, why don’t you just leave it to the guys designing new scenarios?
I would assume, their intend is to have fun with the design work and I am quite sure they spent a considerable of their free time doing so.

If not, shut up or make a helpful comment to the scenario designer.
As others stated, even an assault against a well placed, completely motionless Defense can be an extremely challenging task for the attacker and may be thrilling for the hard pressed defender.

TWC means the scenario has been made by „The Blitz Wargame Club“, if I recall correctly.
VP means „Vehicle Pack“ and indicates, that you need to have the vehicle pack to play this scenario. Such scenarios use some of the equipment, which was included in the VP only, like the Crocodiles or minesweepers.

If I recall correctly, the weight info may have a practical use, since there is a weight limitation for different types of bridges.
The other data a probably more „for your information“. Resp., they are certainly built into the game system, but we without practical use for the gamer. Except, they give you an impression of what you can expect from a vehicle. E.g., a heavy tank with little (motor) power will probably have a poor acceleration and climbing rate. But such things you will quickly learn anyway.

LOL. According to your posts you've been gone for eight years! Unless you were lurking. Kinda makes sense why you don't understand what's going on at this point. If you'd just came to the site as a Newbie it probably wouldn't have been as confusing. You probably would've just bought the bundles.
Well, BN is gonna be on Steam after CW is released, then at some point FI, FB and RT, so yes, you'll have that option eventually.
