  1. MOUT in lightly armoured vehicles can be really nasty: The horror!
  2. I think I've got the AI bent to shape now, but it's still largely untested, rewriting the briefing is the next project.....Joy!
  3. I'm in it as I type mate, almost always am.....Currently reorganising that subterranean thing, juggling timings & testing movement.
  4. That's so cunning you could put four legs on it and call it a Weasel!
  5. I have a real soft spot for the 'Monster Mash' demo map, if you feel like trying another map conversion project.
  6. Fascinating. RE: The inappropriate Rhino.....Sherman Dozers were used to clear bocage, perhaps your Rhino was actually one of those? An atual Sherman Dozer would be a nice addition to the game IMHO, perhaps treated like a combination of Rhino/Crab?
  7. Apparently none of those weapons can stop a T-90!
  8. Impressive. Pink would be a more traditional colour for UK & Commonwealth territories.....Orange is more often associated with the Dutch.
  9. I'd have expected the Strv.103 to be in the 'CM:Nordic Storm' expansion pack for 'CM:Fulda Gap', a game BFC will no doubt release right after 'CM:Crescent of Chaos' (or CM:SFII as it is currently known). Pretty please.....With sugar on top! PS - But 'Shoot & Scoot' would be a cool feature in the mean time.
  10. Far from it, as I understand it the Altay's a derivative of the K2: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K2_Black_Panther A tank that makes anything in a current NATO arsenal look more than a little dated.....Not exactly cheap though!
  11. I'd love to follow an AAR. Love CM:SF & CM:A to bits, CM:BS not so much.....The odd thing is that in modelling at least I'm a massive WWII fan, but I barely touch the WWII CM titles these days. Once I've finished with the current Mosul scenario I'm going to do some more CM:A stuff before returning to the full Mosul campaign, IMHO CM:A's the best of all the titles for uncon actions and some of the units are just so funky (don't stand in front of the Drozd)!
  12. Some interesting and valid points raised in this thread, although I must admit that I completely fail to comprehend the OP's problem with the system.....None of the scenario design issues raised here seem insurmountable to me. The absence of persistent map damage in a campaign is possibly the biggest irritation (on a personal level), but I can't see why a recon mission couldn't be set in advance of a major battle with some creative thinking on the designer's part.
  13. The Altay is a fairly impressive looking thing.....Kinda behind schedule though.
  14. These aren't like other games where you buy them knowing they are good for a certain number of game hours.....So much new user generated content is produced for the CM titles that you need never stop playing them. Money well spent IMHO. PS - If you get into the editor and start generating your own content, these games are even better value for money.....For every hour I spend playing CM I probably spend two or three in the editor.
  15. I've been replaying some CM:FI missions too, in an attempt to get a grip on the 'infantry fleeing more easily in CMx4' issue (they possibly are, but not alarmingly so, based on what I've seen so far).....I haven't noticed this issue yet, but will keep my eyes open and upload any instances I discover.
  16. CM:SF & CM:A are still great games, the former has so much content available that it's a total steal at the price even with all the modules. CM:A is dead quirky (& dead cheap), but it's actually a slightly more sophisticated game-engine than CM:SF and at present it is by far the best for asymmetrical warfare.....What CMA really lacks is good user generated content (& functional trucks). Just my 2c, FWIW PS - I bought the CMx1 bundle twice because I wore a disk out!
  17. How about a 2nd US Civil War, that's a much better and equally plausible concept IMHO, just think of all the wonder-weapons you could use.....It would be eminently fair too, Strykers vs. Strykers, Abrams vs. Abrams, what more could you want?
  18. I wouldn't say the CTS force in Mosul was inadequate, while it may not match state of the art Western units, it's still pretty damned good and it has an awful lot of support from coalition air & artillery.....I'm quite sure if they slashed their ROE and let 9th Armoured plus the artillery & air-power have their full head they could liberate the smouldering, corpse-strewn ruin of Iraq's second city fairly swiftly and with minimal losses to their own forces. The same goes here. It's going to be a few more days before this is ready, firstly I need to amend the AI for the new map, this will in turn almost certainly require some further remodelling (so the AI controlled zombie-jihadists can at least attempt to sneak up on you). I will also probably need to mess around with the timings on the new map, so the reinforcement schedule above is somewhat provisional (the sequence should remain unchanged). Finally I need to amend the VPs to reflect all the other changes, I'm particularly poor at this right now (inexperience) so I will no doubt be asking for yet more help from my esteemed collaborators.
  19. Slightly off the main topic, but in relation to the above.....This is a lot of fun:
