  1. Another feature that might be reasonably simple to implement and which might have considerable utility (especially in combination with the Reinforcement Triggers previously discussed) would be the ability to add a minimum required duration to a Touch Objective. Perhaps it might be called a 'Hold For Objective'?
  2. I have every confidence BFC know what they are doing, they've been receiving my pennies in fairly regular instalments for some time now (with a bit of a gap between CMx1 & CMx2).....Long may they continue to do so. The horror! PS - Is CM:SF II ready yet?
  3. Cheers HerrTom.....I'm clearly getting a bit myopic in my old age, I missed that completely.
  4. I'd imagine the need to build a 2km x 2km map of central Mogadishu might have been a factor.....Just 320m x 320m of high density urban terrain has had me close to gibbering & meeping!
  5. While 'Reinforcement by Trigger' might seem unnecessary and perhaps even open to abuse in conventional warfare scenarios, in uncon warfare it's a very different matter indeed.
  6. I'm more interested in the processes you used in the editor than the fight itself, CM:BS holds almost no appeal for me as a game.....But it does give us in idea of what CM:SF II will be capable of in the near future and that's a game that appeals to me greatly!
  7. I've not played it yet.....One of the big problems I'm having with older scenarios is that having worked on adapting the CM:A Herat map and more significantly converting part of LLF's mighty CM:SF Ramadi to my own Mosul, I now have zero tolerance for borked buildings, they massively effect how a battle plays out and utterly ruin otherwise rather lovely looking maps.
  8. That is a very good idea, I was kind of hoping it was already possible.....I think this is probably a MUST HAVE for CM:SF II, to facilitate properly timed insurgent attacks from previously undiscovered positions.
  9. I don't know all that much about Leading Edge Games, but I don't know of any other game where you can determine the actual medical consequences of a gunshot wound, so I wouldn't rule out the possibility.
  10. I like the sound this randomisation idea, intrigued to see how you've gone about it.
  11. Coincidentally I've just knocked up a Mercenary Company core file, partly inspired by the various discussions in the 'Interesting Scenarios' thread (and partly by the desire to test the firepower of the Barret M-82 on some old Soviet tanks).....My thinking being that most authenticity issues can be avoided when 'non-state-actors' are the focus of the scenario. I'd be up for a PBEM if you want LLF.
  12. I don't have a zipped copy, but I believe I have all the files, so I can soon make one.....BrB. Scenarios: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yxinki3tnff8a5g/CMFI Scenarios.zip?dl=0 Campaigns: https://www.dropbox.com/s/swh7f688432w6rw/CMFI Campaigns.zip?dl=0
  13. Great.....The willy waving has started in here now. Maybe stick to ruining the Black Sea forum.....Leave this area for the rest of us? Amen to that! Give me the old CM:SF (& CM:A) units and the new game engine.....I'm a pig in mud. Have you any idea of the damage we'll be able to inflict on conventional forces with all these new tools.....And then we can run off through an exit zone giggling!
  14. If you want seriously detailed wargaming you need to step away from the computer and take a look at Leading Edge Games' dice & paper ruleset, Phoenix Command.
  15. Triggers, Exit Zones.....We has them (soonish)! Has it come out yet? I'm getting quite impatient now. It seems a very long time since the announcement! PS - I would love to see some low intensity uncon-warfare type scenarios included in the mix, one of my issues with the stock CM:SF & CM:BS scenarios is the way screenshots of the aftermath all to often look like something from Kursk, rather than what we see on our TV screens (& thanks be to the almighty for that).
  16. And now the weather.....Outbreaks of high-explosive with scattered shrapnel are expected later this afternoon, with a storm of lead sweeping in from the south later.
  17. To be fair the attacker was sat in the spawn twiddling his thumbs while his CO watched VBIEDs racing around, but it was a serious explosion.....Ironically of course the whole thing was a part of the same script error that crashed my testing, but I still didn't notice it until it was pointed out!
  18. 'Group Build' & 'Britmodeller' respectively.
  19. Cheers fella, the AI Group thing really annoyed me as it had played out in front of my face at least three times without me noticing it! As for the briefing.....Well you know how much I love writing those! I'm hoping the new one is a bit more purposeful, let me know your thoughts.
