  1. I didn't see any "commercial container button". Sorry Pete, didn't mean to derail the thread. PM me the answer, Kieme, if you would. Mord.
  2. Yeah, GEM is easisr 'cause it has an actual dashboard to toggle stuff on and off. I tried a SweetFX for Shogun II, I think it was, and it was a PIA having to edit script code to change settings, which I am assuming that's what this does.. Mord.
  3. I wonder if they are new or left over artifacts. There was supposed to be a junk truck in CMBN that was never included. Are they flavor object buttons? Mord.
  4. I know I got Emrys' right! I used to read Beetle Baily along with Chuck Brown, Hagar the Horrible, Andy Capp, The Far Side, Garfield, BC, Cathy, Family Circus, and Mark Trail...I am probably missing some. Not sure if we had Calvin and Hobbs in our paper or not? Speaking of Emrys, he grew up reading funny sandskrit in the Sunday Papyrus. Mord.
  5. It could probably be done (unless they changed something) but it's a poor replacement for the real deal. They would offer no protection and wouldn't catch fire or explode when shot up. Be nice if BFC would put the cars in the editor, maybe under fortifications or something so that designers could place them on maps. Maybe when they do Ukrainian uncons they'll include them like they did for CMSF. Mord.
  6. Beetle Baily, Phoenix Wright*, a weird pickle eating thing worshiped in the jungles of Borneo by even weirder pickle eating midget people**, Vladimir George Alfred W. E. Putin-Bush-Newman, the invisible-man. *I only know Phoenix Wright 'cause I just happened to come across this a few weeks back while looking for Dr. Demento stuff on YouTube. Mord. **Yes, that would be you, Emrys...
  7. Really nice work, Pete. Now all we need are some civilian vehicles to give the maps a little more "life". Mord.
  8. That's pretty funny you brought this up, I've been using GEM for Rome II and was wondering the other day whether something like it would work in CM. Mord.
  9. Yep. Background and music files are always set to stereo. And as far as I know only PC owners can use the 44,100khz wavs. Mac settings need to be 48,000khz. Mord.
  10. HA! I get at least two men killed before I even start a scenario...I lost six guys today during a QB force selection. Going by my record since CMBN was released I am not even the guy you want serving your chow. The only way I could get two WIA would be not to play and it would still be iffy. Good job. I doubt anyone's gonna top that for a while. Mord.
  11. Yep, been loving the plain version of this mod since CMSF. Looking forward to it, Marco. Mord.
  12. Good job, man, you dropped that chatter into the background at a nice level. Blends well. And, hey, no questions are stupid when you've never done a mod before. We all have to start somewhere. You learned in one day the culmination of what took me weeks of trial and error and picked up damned quick on what I was laying down, to boot. In other words; a quick study. You never asked me the same question twice. Now, just save our conversation to guide you along when you wanna try another. And trust me, LOL. you'll want to make another at some point. Anyway, I am glad I could help you. Mord.
  13. Ahh, I just checked and apparently never got them for RT. They are going in there now, though! Kickass flames, man. You've outdone yourself with them. Mord.
  14. Look really nice, man. Great job. Mord.
  15. What waffleman said. smod_russian_ratnik_soldier_uniform, smod_russian_ratnik_soldier_uniform 2, smod_russian_ratnik_soldier_uniform 3, etc. or something to that effect. Don't remember if you need the number 1 or whether you need the underscore before the numbers. But something along these lines should do the trick. Mord.
  16. You're welcome. LOL. I actually know who that is...the 'bastidge" guy with the cigar and sideburns, right? Will it get me chicks? If so, I'll get the Elmer's glue and fire up the sewing machine.. Mord.
  17. Good work, Vin, as usual. I get a kick out of those icons in the legend, thirty years ago they would've been ground breaking graphics for ALL wargames...LOL. Now, they are just an indicator for what a unit is doing. Pretty wild how far we've come. I started with Space Invaders and the Intellivision game system and couldn't even imagine, with my giant 10-year-old's imagination back then, that I'd see games like I am seeing now. Mord.
  18. One way around that would to be to make the loop bigger. I did some mods for CMSF and made the backgrounds about five minutes long so that by the time stuff repeated it got lost in the mix. However, that was a radio chatter background so it might be different. You can give it a try though and see how it sounds. Mord.
  19. Vein, are these flames brand new for CMBS? They have to be the best flames I've seen in any CM games. Incredible job. You are a master artisan. Mord.
  20. I don't use NATO symbol mods but just wanted to say, great job, Ian—that's a lot of work—they look really good. I know the symbols are pretty popular so, plenty of people will really enjoy these. Mord.
  21. I did a little bit of CMSF porting myself. No sense letting good mods stagnate and seeing that a lot of dudes never played CMSF (or haven't played in years) the older files will sound new to them anyway. Mord.
  22. The one thing that will really benefit you is to explode all of CMBS's brz files...here's a cut and paste from one of my mods explaining it. HOW TO EXPLODE A BRZ FILE: Go to where you've installed CMBS...usually it'll be C:Program Files/Battlefront/CMBS or something to that affect. Open your CMBS folder. You should see a folder called Mod Tools. Open it. You'll see a folder named RezExplode. Open it. Now you'll see two folders and an exe file. Place your brz into the folder titled "input". Now click on the EXE ICON that says RezExplode. The second folder (should be named exploded) will switch to this message ---inprogress---, at this point the brz is exploding. When it's done the folder will say "exploded". Open the exploded folder and you will find all the files that were packed into the brz. Some times they will be in folders, other times, just random files...all depends on how the creator packed them. Now, You can cut and paste them directly into your z folder or place them in another folder named whatever you choose...and place that in the z folder. NOTE: Don't forget to delete or remove the brz from the input folder. Once you do that it'll give you access to all of the files for the game that you can dick with. The most important part is it shows you what the correct naming conventions are for the files. One extra space or mistyped word and your mods won't activate. For sound modding remember to save your wavs as PCM 16bit 44,100khz (48,000khz for Mac) mono. This applies to ALL gunshots, vehicles, explosions, and voice files. The background sounds and music files will be PCM 16bit 44,100khz (48,000khz for Mac) stereo. That should get you started. Mord.
