  1. It was much higher this time. There were only a couple spots where it kinda mixed with the battle sounds but it was a world of difference compared to the others. I'd say I heard 96% clearly. Good job. BTW loved the voice acting on the US side...that guy is a genius! Mord.
  2. As far as I remember, once 2.0 came out they said they wouldn't be supporting 1.0 anymore. We'll know more when they finally let us know about what is going on with this new system. Mord.
  3. I don't wanna get in a big giant debate over this, but in my opinion, ultimately people are responsible for their own actions, the rest is excuses. Criminals constantly excuse their own actions and place the blame on someone or something else. It's called responsibility and there's another trend in the world today, America especially, where it's avoided at all costs. Mord.
  4. That could've been it. it was 2009 when I saw it. I thought he was there when it happened but maybe it's a pic that they show around as a cautionary tale. Regardless, it was shocking and ghastly. LOL. No part of me went, oh wow, I can't wait to see something like that in person! They've absolutely expanded my knowledge and interest in a lot of areas of history because I can actually participate in what I have read and learned about—a vicarious exploration of the past. And depending on the scale/focus of the game, could actually get involved in the geopolitics of which you spoke of in the rest of your post. I think as many of us do, that it's a great hobby. Mord.
  5. Which reminds me of something that popped up on the other site; that playing violent games desensitizes you to violence. I hear this argument about movies as well and it is a complete and utter ******** argument. In no way does seeing a guy in a horror movie getting a machete to the head or seeing dudes blowed up in a game, make maiming, suffering, or death any easier to experience in real life. The two things are mutually exclusive in my opinion. When I see a guy get his head chopped off in 300, I go; that was cool! 'cause I know it is fake and part of the show. If I saw it happen in my backyard tomorrow, I'd puke. There's a huge difference between the two. When I was in Basic one of the DSs was showing us some slides from his last tour. One ended up being a pic of a guy that had held a blasting cap in his mouth while he was fiddling with some C4 or something...it was an aftermath/don't be that guy/life lesson, all rolled into one. No movie, no game, no book, no nothing, was as real and sickening as that picture and I can only imagine how horrifying it would've been to witness it in person. I wasn't desensitized after 25+ years of horror movies, roleplaying games, and wargames. And if somehow playing a game, any kind of game, can desensitize you to death and slaughter then maybe you have mental problems already. That's my take on it, anyway. Mord.
  6. Sidewalks and Jersey barriers are great ideas. Guard rails and some parked cars would be really great. If not now maybe in a module. Mord.
  7. Sorry. Mord. P.S. I feel guilty, now.
  8. I gotchya covered there, Aragorn—19th SS Field Kitchen and 11th West Prussian Pioneer Rgt. Check. Mord.
  9. Ok, I've got all the Heer infantry and Panzer divisions insignia copied and ready for making shields. I am gonna try and stick to the lowest numbers for when any new units pop up. I wanna be as thorough as possible so I don't skip anything. I've created a master list of the Inf, Pz, and Pz Gren divisions in numerical order, so I can just cut and paste anything you might add right in. Mord.
  10. Not to get too political but we are living in a day and age where we are expected to feel guilty about everything; from where we were born to the air we breath, and it gets old. Do I feel guilty about playing wargames? Nope, not a bit. I save my guilt for tangible things that I have personally done, that I might not be proud of. If I weren't able to air-condition Canadians with some MG42s, or hammer a Syrian tank with a Jav, I'd be shooting a laser up some tentacled alien's wahoo to scratch that tactical itch (shut up, Emrys). I like war and fighting on an intellectual level, it's that basic. The history and all that includes is a big part of the attraction. However, Modern is just as interesting because it is happening now, in my own time, with weapons and vehicles that aren't relegated to some museum a thousand miles away—the history is playing out before my eyes and the tactics have evolved to fit a more lethal battlefield. Wargaming isn't a slight on those that died, or fought for real, or are fighting now. It's an interest, a hobby, a compulsion, just like my love for the horror genre. Some times things just turn you on. But, I guess you could even argue that by re-fighting some of these battles you are honoring those that were actually there. And if that sounds too pretentious just stick with the fact I dig blowing **** up on my computer. Mord.
  11. Are we gonna see anything like chain link fences, tall wooden fences, guard rails, things like that to give the surroundings a more modern feel? It's getting to the point where the trappings over the series are all starting to feel the same. Some updated stuff like those mentioned above would be nice. Mord.
  12. They might not of caught that one, but they did fix all the guys that had legs sticking out the bottoms of the Marders and Wespe etc. Thanks BFC! That's one more irritation removed. They drove me crazy every time I saw them. Mord.
  13. Yeah, after you install the vehicle pack (and do the activations), install 3.11 and you shouldn't have to reactivate anything. I just installed 3.11 about an hour ago on my PC (already had the VP installed from a couple weeks ago) and everything went fine. Mord.
  14. I am a glutton for punishment. And looking at the list, you may be right! But I am excited, now. This will be cool. You would've never guessed by looking at that list that Hitler wanted to take Russia. Jeeez. @Fizou. Awesome work, my man. I am gonna start compiling a working list now that you have quite a few. What I really wanna do is do them in sequential order, But I can easily start some shield templates with the lower numbers. Mord.
  15. Win 8 64bit AMD A10-6700 Code Name Richland Package Socket FM2 (904) Technology 32nm 12.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz Motherboard Manufacturer MSI Model 2AE0 (P0) Chipset Vendor AMD Chipset Model A55/A60M FCH Chipset Revision 00 Southbridge Vendor AMD Southbridge Model A55/A60M Manufacturer ATI Model AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series 2 Gig GDDR5 Driver version 12.104.0.0 BIOS Version 113-AD44500-101 At this point I wouldn't knock myself out over this. I seem to be the only one that has the problem and it is solved. I appreciate the effort and all, but it doesn't seem worth spending any more time on. You could be gaming instead of trying to figure out this bizarre fluke! Anyway, thanks for trying, Ian, but in the end I can live without that button. Mord.
  16. Join in, over here. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=117714&page=2 Mord.
  17. Yep, I got that part. I just thought you were gonna keep retesting in game to figure out where the LOS was best. But anyway, good video, I enjoyed it. It will be a valuable tool for budding scenario designers. Mord.
  18. Actually, Darknight Canuck (DC) would be your man. He has a love for the CW guys that borders on pathological and I say that in a good way. Mord.
  19. Hey Chris, to save yourself some time, just load the Brads and infantry up in the editor and place them on that ridge and check LOS to the buildings from within the editor. That way you won't have to keep testing and going back and testing in game. You might have already known that but I didn't catch you mention it, so I figured I'd give the tip. Mord.
  20. Thanks for the patch, guys. Ya'll have been busy little beavers. Mord.
  21. Controversy has never hurt a game. If it comes to that, we all know the deal, and BFC has the posts to prove it wasn't taking advantage of the situation. But in the end any spotlight shined on BFC is gonna make them money. Mord.
  22. Look at you even looking for insignia IDs. LOL. Good man! Mord.
