Every AFV is air-droppable. At least once.

    Yes, yes and no.
PBEM++ only has to do with Slitherine. It has nothing to do with Steam (other than the coincidence that the only game capable of PBEM++ in steam only at this particular time).

Yeah. I mean the troops can actually shoot out of the vehicle, so why not let them spot?

As with many hyperbolic discussions, this one appears rooted in something real, but the signal to noise ratio clouds the message.
One has to refer to this thread, more specifically the comprehensive testing done by @Drifter Man to see where this is coming from.

On page 23 of the PDF he posted, one can see that at 40m the M1911 pistol is showing a higher kills/min rate than 2 of the rifles: the Lee Enfield MkIV, and the Kar98k. At 80m they are roughly on par, as seen on page 24. (I’m discounting the rifles firing rifle grenades as the RoF would be low and their purpose is not the same as rifles firing bullets).

However, context is king. This is not a first shot kill probability chart. Comparing someone firing a pistol at a target as quickly as possible and easily reloading is not the same as a bolt action rifle. Give each man one bullet and one would see a different result.
I’d be inclined to say this is a poor understanding of the test and the results, but given the bombastic posting style it’s hard to take as much more than trolling. I find this unfortunate as an open and honest discussion of these results would lead to greater understanding of how things work and why they work a particular way (and perhaps an object lesson in statistical analysis).

I'm going to go ahead and say that unarmed vehicles should have a LOS tool, too.
Right now they do not have a LOS tool since LOS is done via the target command, and without a weapon you don't get a target command.
But that leads to some absurd situations. Not everything unarmed is combat-irrelevant. For example I have a SF2 German Aufklärungs platoon, which comes in Wolf vehicles. The Wolf doesn't have a weapon, it has 3 scout crewmembers (not passengers, crewmembers, big difference). So if you drive your scout vehicle to a certain point on the map you cannot determine LOS (without dismounting). This seems opposite of the scout's purpose.

I think I want to make a quick detour for those who think that the better gun makes the StuG so expensive (thinking AT capabilities make the majority of the price formula for some reason).
Sherman 105 - 217 points StuH 105 mm - 270 points Why? How? The StuH has 31 HE shells, 2 HEAT shells, 1 MG with low ammo. The Sherman has 53 HE shells, 5 HEAT, some smoke, apart from its own smoke launcher, 3 MGs incl. .50cal and a turret, one with thicker front armor than the StuH front.

I would be happy if this scenario was changed to have those organic 120mm mortars.

Are you saying the StuG spots better in CMx2? Because there has never been a shred of evidence of that. And we had plenty of spotting research threads just this summer and fall.

I added the iconic front grip for the paratrooper Sten. I also made the gun slightly bigger since it seemed a bit small to me and did the same to the Sten Mk. II.
    Download here:

Point of note, the animations included will change all weapons which use the Thompson animations so you can modtag them or take them out if it's an inconvenience.

    Hopefully the same day?

But keep in mind that if you run Windows you can get a Matrix key for your BFC CMCW, which gets you a steam key. So you would be able to toy with the new version on day one.

Most if not all of the WWII CM games have a PDF file for their QB maps. Might be too much to ask for due to how many there are but I'm hoping one may have been done.
Has one been done for the Fire and Rubble QB maps?
