Redwolf got a reaction from Armorgunner in So you just got your hands on CMCW...now what? Designers Q&A thread.
Self-defense smoke launchers.

Hmmm, I wouldn't want to miss the NATO module. That would mean the Bundeswiesel is gone. No way.
I guess I take an incomplete force happily if it offers some fun.

It is better to download the full installer from your user account (in orders).

Redwolf reacted to Thomm in Add something new please.
Still in awe that a single programmer could pull off something like CMx2.
Best regards

This should be logged with the Matrix helpdesk.

On the other hand you could argue that no sane defender would skip pre-registering TRPs in front of them.

Redwolf got a reaction from Pelican Pal in Steam reviews need support
Let's be honest, if you look at the individual negative points (not the weighting thereof which is different for people here) in the negative reviews you don't see much that is factually wrong.
It is just unfortunate that those 5 early negative reviews (only 2 in English) smashed down on us because they were Steam purchases and all the positive reviews were from Steam key activations - which don't count.

Redwolf got a reaction from Ultradave in M1 Mac works great with the new engine
I broke down and bought Parallels (too many problems with virtualbox).
It runs CMCW surprisingly well. Certainly well enough for quick PBEM replies.

CMFI is cool, you won't regret it.

Redwolf reacted to Ultradave in M1 Mac works great with the new engine
Made it easier for work I was doing for my research when I was at NC State. Combination of tools running in Windows and Unix (which run on Mac with a little massaging), and passing files back and forth. I've just stuck with it because it works well for me and I'm used to it.

Redwolf reacted to G. Smiley in M1 Mac works great with the new engine
Received my M1 MacBook Pro 14" 2021 today and fired up CMCW 1.03. Runs great, definitely better than on my Intel 2016 MacBook Pro.

Redwolf got a reaction from Stardekk in Air superiority in the Cold War
Ugh. Complex question.
I'd say that F-16 and F-15 showing up in numbers, along with decent air defense for the airfields, would be a turning point. So 1981-1982. But that is US only, I think the Germans in particular are not even competing for air superiority in the cold war.

Redwolf got a reaction from Shadrach in The Combat Mission: Cold War v1.03 patch has been released
That is a known bug in the BFC version 1.01, too.
I dunno whether this has been fixed in 1.03 and can't test right now.

Redwolf got a reaction from RMM in Engine 5 Wishlist
Steve said this is just a matter of not having done the programming that they did for the vehicles.
There's probably hope that this comes in the future.

Redwolf got a reaction from A Canadian Cat in Too many "bundles": How do I start from zero and get to play Market Garden?
There is no install for the module.
The CMBN base download/install already contains all modules. You just activate the ones you bought with a serial number.

Redwolf got a reaction from sttp in Engine 5 Wishlist
I'm going to go ahead and say that unarmed vehicles should have a LOS tool, too.
Right now they do not have a LOS tool since LOS is done via the target command, and without a weapon you don't get a target command.
But that leads to some absurd situations. Not everything unarmed is combat-irrelevant. For example I have a SF2 German Aufklärungs platoon, which comes in Wolf vehicles. The Wolf doesn't have a weapon, it has 3 scout crewmembers (not passengers, crewmembers, big difference). So if you drive your scout vehicle to a certain point on the map you cannot determine LOS (without dismounting). This seems opposite of the scout's purpose.

No need for Battlefront to do that.....There are already settings in the editor for limited supply options.

Redwolf got a reaction from A Canadian Cat in Cold War Questions
Both the BFC and the Matrix/Steam versions will have both conventional PBEM and Matrix' PBEM++. BFC is not ready yet but will.
Attack helos are in, the Cobra for Blue.
