Yeah bumped into this problem a few months ago as someone else hit the same problem. For them it was a corrupted save between missions 1 and 2. Unfortunately you'll need to start again, but luckily mission 1 is generally a quick affair. Never heard of an FO having too many fire missions during deployment but wouldn't hurt spreading them out. Worth a shot.
The second crack at the attack missions you will be a little forward from your current starting positions on both occaisions. Don't be sared if you are forced down this route either here or in Mission 3, as this is the true to history pathway for the campaign. If you fail mission 2, the second attempt is actually pretty fun with lots of Vehicle Pack toys. Best piece of advice I can give for Mission 2 is take your time and preserve the forces you receive in this mission trying to take the village. They'll be with you to the very end of the campaign.

Ithikial, I started this campaign and played the first mission no problems. I began the second mission, plotted the pre-planned arty and CM crashes when clicking the button. I have the included mods installed. Version 3.11, I have MG and CW as well as the vehicle pack. Is it possible to give an FO too many fire missions? Any ideas what could be the cause? Did all of that artillery kill every single enemy and the computer just couldn't believe it ?
And also, in the briefing you mention that the player will get a second crack at most attack missions. In the event of a second crack are you back to the start positions, or do you keep your territorial gains?

I'm sure it can't be hard to list also. Hook us up Elvis, please. I need these single vehicles for my 5th Panzer and 5th SS Panzer division TOE's!

In case anyone not sure how to do this in the editor - if you want a WSS Tiger battalion in summer 44 in Poland, you can change the date in the editor (under 'data') to January 45, purchase your WSS Heavy tank battalion, then go back and change the date back to say 14 August 1944. You'll still have your WSS Tiger battalion to play with (though you may have to ensure no Tiger IIs in the ToE).

It can of course be easily overruled by chosing a Tiger company in May 1945 and change the date to July 1944.

I don't mind this at all. FR is end of the war - Germans on the ropes. I'm fine with a "can you do better than they did historically?" scenario.

If there's anything additional for CMFI, it'll be battle packs or vehicle packs, not full modules.

I really enjoyed this campaign. Very good job of conveying the difficulties of urban combat. The maps were excellent and the AI setups were all solid. I played it ver 4 and found the new routing created additional challenges (mentioned it on another thread) as you had to find and fight units multiple times. Thanks for your time and skill!

    Feature request:
TCP/IP/Internet two players connected WeGo mode with adjustable timer.
So, basically two players connect and instead of playing in real time, both of them have the order and execution phase at the same time. Order phase length is limited by a timer which can be adjusted, but once both player presses a button the execution phase starts.

Here's a couple books that have very Black Sea - style combat.  Set in hypothetical russian attack to take Baltic states and then Poland.  The books are set in Poland.

Note, this aint literature, not by a longshot.  Everything is a set up for the fighting.  There's very silly cartoonish officer that needs to be overcome by our hero, but who cares? -- it's got some nasty fighting w modern weapons.  Book one is a stryker-based unit (plus some Poles) trying to take a heavily defended bridge position.  Book two is an abrams company + Irish infantry trying to defend a town.

Reading Career, crimes and trial of Gustav Knittel by Timo Worst.
Not sure where to begin...packed with 533 pages of detail, maps and pics many of which I'd not seen before, its detective work of the highest order...top quality purchase!
Description of the Schnelle Group during the Ardennes is my area of interest and I was not disappointed one bit.
The only downside is that I've now got to make some adjustments to my Stavelot and Trois Ponts maps!

    Bubba883XL,

HIghly recommend Panzers and the Battle of Normandy, by Bernage.

Everyone who hasn't read it should read Frontsoldaten, by American history prof Fritz. This is the Landser's war told from interviews, letters and even Landser veterans who went on to write about their experiences in novels. Deem it not just one of the most important books about WW II ever written, but one of the most important military books ever written, for this is the distilled essence of men at war, mostly in the titanic struggle on the Eastern Front.  If you would understand how the Gerrmans were able to understand how the German soldier was able to fight on and on and on, the answers lie here, and some are pretty shocking.

    Regards,

    John Kettler
