Well the other way around certainly works. CMBS -> CMCW.  But at least for Quick Battle maps there is little point. Pretty much all CMBS QB maps seem to already be present in CMCW, sometimes with a slightly different name.
CMFB -> CMCW also goes, but the barns need to be re-placed, because they look funky. Maybe more...
This requires the tiny map hexedit, as you know of course.

    Hello,
I was messing around with models and decided to fix the fact that the ZIS gun shields are way too straight. Ironically they're at the correct angle on the limbered model, so I took the gun shields from those.

Thanks! Yes that is the white annoyance right there.
I just checked, and the issue seems to be confined to the Scenario Editor. I could not reproduce the bug when doing two Quick Battles, snow then non-snow. That is a relief.

This is an issue in other Combat Mission games as well:
    - The Panther D (Late) has a main model without turret tracks modelled, but strangely the lower detail one has a turret full of tracks.
    - King Tiger main model shows turret tracks, lower detail model does not.

Panther Bunker formation seems to be available in juli 1943 already, but holds no actual content until spring 1944. Still the QB auto force selection loves to pick some of these empty formations, which have a cost of 50 each.

Good to have that in proper perspective. And glad to hear that the Italy base game was a success (commercially I assume). Seems it makes for three winners: Battlefront for a successful game, The investor for eventually getting 3 Italy based games instead of 1, and the normal customers for also being able to play all of those for customer pricing.

Since the above mentioned issue was fixed so nicely. Maybe have a look at a similar thing for the UK forces. It is not as bad as the it was with the US Marines faction, but the game logic spends like 90+% of its points on scimitar recon vehicles in 'sabre troop' armored formations. With QB auto mix force that is.
For now I just have to enable 'human' selection of forces and click 'suggestion' until the sabre troop entries diminish.

Kevin2k got a reaction from Lucky_Strike in Battlefront should implement a publically viewable bug tracking site.
Note that I am not advocating a public bug tracking system. Don't really care about that.
But what I find really questionable is that whenever a bug is reported by an ordinary forum user, and there is a reply with a request for a screenshot or save file. Then that ordinary forum user cannot directly attach it due to the forum policy on attachment sizes. For me that means I will explain a bug in writing no problem, but principally will not put in any effort to transfer any image or save.

Kevin2k got a reaction from Sgt.Squarehead in CMBN - Upgrading to Version 4
Earlier, I tried the "Foliage runners" test map in the different CM  games. In CMBN v4.01 / v4.02 it gives the weird Tactical AI behaviour with high and low bocage. When I run a converted test map in CMFB or CMFI with low bocage (they do not offer high bocage) the bug does not occur. It must be something CMBN specific, since CMBN handles bocage differently from other titles. Also it affects all of CMBN, which means it can be seen in the Market garden maps when they have low bocage placed somewhere.
CMBN V4.00 does not have this bocage bug, but was criticised for fleeing tactical AI behaviour in case of HE explosions.
CMBN v3.12 has neither of the above issues.

This article is very interesting. It lists the Flu Mortality rate in Italy, year by year, from 2013 to 2017. It seems the current death rate while extremely tragic, is not unusual for the country.

Make of it what you will.

The problem has always been "interpretation of data" controversies.
One can say that currently the death rate is "x"%.  But, if the vast majority of the people dying are from a certain group - ie: those with immune problems like some elderly and those already with serious illnesses, then that "x"% death rate is irrelevant to the population as a whole.  All one can say at present is that for that particularly vulnerable section of society, the death rate is x% if infected.
If you are not in that sample group, the death rate is almost certainly going to be completely different (much lower - perhaps no more than the death rate from the annual flu)).  From what I understand, young folks who are normally healthy may not even know that they are infected, let alone get sick, and should have virtually no fear of dying.
Logically, since young people are likely to not be aware they are virus carriers and need have little fear of dying from it, they should be wiped out (or at least interned) asap to protect the rest of society which is more vulnerable.

Kevin2k reacted to sttp in QB map pdfs
(I'm starting this as a new topic since the links to even the old pdf files will be changing.)
I just finished the pdf which shows all QB maps for CMBN. It is a huge file -- nearly 400 pages and 330MB -- and is HERE. (A smaller, lower quality version for CMBN is HERE.) Since Assault, Attack and Probe versions of the various QB maps usually vary only slightly, I only included Assault in these pdfs. Those and (I believe) all Meeting Engagement maps.
Also, the old dropbox links for the other 3 titles will be expiring, so I'm moving everything to this newer account. Here are the new links for pdf's for the other 3 WW2 titles:
    CMFB is here.
    Here is Red Thunder.
    And here is Fortress Italy.

The model detail switching distance goes together with somewhat small vehicles. Because of that the images describing the bugged behaviour are small in nature. Well to my eyes it is rather crude when I see it in game. As it is now I would rather have no spare turret tracks on any vehicle, instead of them appearing and disappearing like now.
My conclusion of yesterday was that there are several Panther model files with bugged randomized  'optional' items and texture mixup. I count at least 4 bugged Panther model files in that regard.  Also the game logic to synchronize the randomized 'optional' items between main model  and low detail model can lose track, confusing the matter and causing the same glitches for a different reason.
Thanks for the tip on dropbox. I could make a dropbox account or use imagebam.com like before. But these services tend to hold images for a few years and then crap out for some reason. Photobucket being a bad example.

( Another "bug": I cannot attach images to this forum anymore, since  I filled the amount of a whopping 2 MegaBytes. Well that is more then a DS HD floppy disk, but only just )
