    Map is 99% done. AI plan #1 written for the Germans.
    I am playing it in scenario author mode and really enjoying it. Making tweaks as I see what needs tweaked. Shaping up nice. Tomorrow morning I crank out a briefing and a TACMAP. In a few days I can release it. "Another banger"
     
    Unless someone volunteers to playtest it first.

    1115, 21 May 1940. Along the Escaut Canal near Esquelmes, Belgium. A slight haze, light wind from the east. 
    You are the human player controlling the counter-attack of the 3rd Battalion Grenadier Guards. 
    The mission is to counter-attack and destroy the German bridgehead. Occupy the objective. Sweep it clean of Jerry to obtain 500 points and win the battle. 
    Excerpts from the 3rd Bn. Grenadier Guards War Diary...
    **1940 May 21
    **At 0730 hours a violent Artillery, Mortar and Machine Gun barrage fell on the whole of the 1st GUARDS BRIGADE front.
    **A determined enemy attack was launched at the point of junction of the Battalion and the 2nd Battalion COLDSTREAM GUARDS.
    **A crossing was forced and Machine Guns, Mortars and Snipers got across the river, infiltrating on the left, and forced our men back as far as the PONT A CHIN road.
    **The open country held by our forward Companies was completely under enemy observation, and every movement made by our troops was dogged by accurate Machine Gun and Mortar Fire.
    **Seeing that the situation was serious the Battalion Commander went forward in a Carrier and made a recce on the spot as there was no post from which he could see what was happening.
    **As a result, No. 3 Company was ordered to counter attack and regain No. 4 Company’s position. Supported by one Section of Carriers under Lieutenant H. REYNELL-PACK and this attack went in with great dash at 1130 hours

    The platoons of No. 3 Company (reserve force) have been ordered to the start line west of the PECQ - PONT A CHIN ROAD. 7 Platoon has already arrived and can be repositioned in the dark blue set up zone. 8 and 9 Platoon will arrive in that same area at 5 and 10 minutes respectively, more or less centered on the map. You can shift the axis of the attack as you desire. Finally, the carriers are being fueled and will be in position at 1130 in the south-west corner of the map. 
    NOTE: The Germans are attempting to reinforce the bridgehead. You must decide to either wait for the carriers or to press onward now with 7 Platoon. 
    A few men from No. 4 Company are still trapped down by the canal bank, most likely in rough shape.

    Hello everyone, I am looking for collaborators for this campaign project. The campaign is about the actions of the 7th Armoured from their engagements at Tilly-sur-Suelles to Villers-Bocage and culminates at the "Battle of the Brigade Box". I accept any kind of help, but what is most needed are map makers, as well as people well versed in the actions of the desert rats during Operation Perch. Some texture work is also needed for correct markings on vehicles. Each scenario will have its own modtag and there will be an attached modpack for the campaign for all the historical accuracy freaks such as myself. The most time consuming part of this project is making the maps, and researching the battles. i have good refrence photos but some helping hands would be good to have for building the maps. There is no ETA for the campaign, but hopefully it gets done within a month or two.

    Apples and oranges. 
    We have mdr files for flavor objects and gear and buildings and vehicles and YES they can be combined and edited and we have a lot we can do like Horsa glider.
    The uniforms are the mds file format and we have no way currently to mess with them that I know of. BFC will not allow it and the hacker code brain "Stan Bobovyc", who deserves a trophy/prize/medal got us into mdr files is busy elsewhere and it is a lot of work beyond my brain to accomplish. Maybe some day.  
    EDIT: Damn, one thing I must say is that I don't own the modern titles and so what exact mds uniforms exist over there is unknown to me. I doubt they have rolled up sleeves shirt with long pants tucked into combat boots - but you never know. I suggest you hit those guys up.

    Nobody chimed in. Not a single entry. Surprise! Mr. E.R. Bradshaw was not an actual forumite. So I get all the whizzo butter!

    The scenario editor details are noteworthy of how I have crafted the German infantry force.
    Anyway, for anybody out there interested in making CMRT seem more early war @Artkin @Suchy here is what I did.
    I set date to May 1945. Quality to poor. Purchased a shifstamm kriegsmarine battalion!
    I only needed a company size force so I deleted out a bunch of stuff.
    The mod turns them into German infantry.
    Return date to June 1944. Region is Soviet Union.
    I get 99.9% LMG34. No rifle grenades. I don't see any G41 or G43. I have only 2 or 3 panzerfaust 30 or 30k among the company. Go to those squads and detach an anti-tank team. You lose 2 riflemen but they take the panzerfaust and you can use an exit zone filter near the axis set up zone to pull them out of the scenario early.

    Alrighty, I will take the bait.
    First of all, I am no tactical genius. But I have been around a while playing CM.
    SOILERS AND SPOILERS
     
     
     
     
    I approached/entered the trenches far on my left flank. I did this in conjunction with a delayed arrival area barrage. Getting the barrage set up on the first orders opportunity is very useful. After that, you MUST have line of site if you have no TRP's. But then plan on your first few turns to move that platoon HQ in so it DOES have LOS to the barrage area. Makes it accurater. Is that a word? 
    Split your squads up into 2 teams so they move in smaller groups. SPREAD OUT!! Yes sarge...
    I moved the HMGs up center leftish and rightish for overwatch and used the sniper as the probe sacrificial iron cross recipient who crossed the creek stream and got some spots.
    Make note of your delay when the barrage will arrive. 30 minute battle. I think my barrage said it needed 9 minutes to get going. Keep checking this and everybody has ear comms like a SEAL TEAM. 
    Get your guys over there but not too close. Demo charge dudes are back a bit until needed. Slow crawl up but then let them catch their breath.
    IT WORKED!
    But the scoring is hosed I am sorry to say as I got 200 points for the bunkers but so did the US side? "What the fudge?" EDIT: No, I am wrong. The scoring is fine. I misread what I was looking at. I took too many casualties to get the total victory is what happened.
    I will post some screenshats here in a bit.

    Alrighty, GORILLA T5637 is done and sits proudly next to GWENDOLYNN T5653. I still have to go into Blender and remove the antenna off the 3D model of the Vickers Carrier. The squadies are wearing @Falaise BEF uniforms and helmets. Merci mon ami.
    Next up is the unarmed carrier, Gosport T5644.
    The map is taking shape and I am figuring out what buildings get plopped on it. A church and a few houses --- maybe a lingerie shop, French knickers for the bird back in blighty. nudge nudge wink wink, say no more.

    NEW PROJECT ALERT
    @Kuli
    CMFI FJ will wear the British shorts uniform
    step 1 is we rename that mds to be what the FJ normally wear. CHECK (Very easy to do) This just changes the 3D model shape.
    They will look very ugly as they are still being dressed in the uniforms, boots and skins of the normal mds for FJ
    You trick the game code by taking the proper bmp's for shorts and renaming as FJ uniforms for "the set" (soldiers, nco's, officers at 3 levels)
    For the shorts there is another element of the gnarly leg haired bastard skins with forearms too.
    You gotta have the files of German skins to match what is needed. Maybe boots too need renamed.
    THEN AFTER ALL THIS ART BMP FILES ARE RENAMED AND SHOW PROPERLY IN GAME - CAN BE REWORKED TO LOOK GERMAN IN GIMP or PHOTOSHOP.
    THEN we can go into the mds and add back the German gear.
    Long ago I had the Italians in British shorts.

    Congratulations! You exploded your first brz file. Piece of cake.
    Yeah, I been doing this a long while so I have knowledge you do not YET. I had to look at your screenshot and then poked my head into the folders one after another until I saw the exterior wall style and then saw the roofs.
    The file was like this and to me stood out like a sore thumb.

    It was missing the closing paren ")"
    So it defaulted to the no snow roof.
    I fixed it.

    I looked in the campaign and those folks NOW have wonderful attic insulation.
