In the campaign for Broken Shields, Mission 1. One of the buildings has no snow on the roof. Can this be fixed? Is there a way to get at the file and tweak/tag it so it has snow?

I'll log that to see about getting it fixed with any upcoming patches (as it will be the same for the model texture across every map it is used in).

If a month or so goes by, I'll mod one up and post it here. I don't check here daily, but I'll catch it.

For now, that was the warmest house in town before everyone scrambled.

Your thread title gets the award for longest thread title! The answer is yes and yes.

So, if you want to learn how to try and correct this yourself, I can walk you through it.

Edit: If yes, you can summon me back here by using the @ symbol next to my username (in case you were unaware).

@kohlenklau Thank you. That would be good to do and know. It's not the bug of the year. But love that map. A forest of gloom, persuasive dread and foreboding to think about sending anyone into it. New to posting. Apologies about title.

Apologies about title.

No apology needed. Just having fun! Welcome here and we I think are a good welcoming group.

We can take a nice and slow.

Step 1 is to learn how to use REZEXPLODE to open the brz file that has the building roof bmp files.

You have the main folder where the game resides? Go there and you should see a folder called Mod Tools. Open that up. In there you see another folder called RezExplode.

Copy a brz to that input folder and then right click on the utility icon and run as administrator. Normally you must hunt down the proper brz but we have done this already so I think we can cut to the chase and get you the right brz to copy to input. Hold on! I have all this somewhere.

Congratulations! You exploded your first brz file. Piece of cake.

Yeah, I been doing this a long while so I have knowledge you do not YET. I had to look at your screenshot and then poked my head into the folders one after another until I saw the exterior wall style and then saw the roofs.

The file was like this and to me stood out like a sore thumb.

building008-roof (02 [germany snow]

It was missing the closing paren ")"

So it defaulted to the no snow roof.

I fixed it.

building008-roof (02) [germany snow]

I looked in the campaign and those folks NOW have wonderful attic insulation.

Here is the repaired file you can grab and put in your CMRT z folder.

The one thing about a saved campaign in progress is that you might be stuck with that damn original no snow roof. I am not sure. Let me know if you load your save and that roof is still messed up. But on a fresh start, with my fix in z, the roof now looks goodly covered in virgin white snow.

Best wishes to you "Zar"!

kohlenklau. Thank you very much for the time and help, that sorted it. And Benpark too for original reply. I loaded a saved file and the roof now has snow. Woohoo. Off to the dark woods I go to see what's going to happen there!!!
