Good news. I have a skilled uniform modder that is interested in making what I call a German "early war" uniform set with helmets.
Until then I will hodge podge together what I can.

Thanks to @mjkerner for his excellent job adding 2 front pockets to the Soviet M35 uniform work in progress.
Any uniform modders want to volunteer to take on some small tasks? Please PM me if you want to help pull the Barbarossa wagon across the finish line.

I don’t think so - never confirmed or denied. Reckon too busy researching his next book.

Other one coming on thanks. Did some tweaks and about ready to do a test compile. RL has become tad busy so CM time in short supply at the moment unfortunately, hence progress has slowed somewhat.

This new map looks great George, fantastic vistas, do like a railway embankment to drive Panthers along. Which reminds me, how is that other campaign coming along?

    Spot on.
I've had some correspondence with Douglas Nash (who BTW is a super helpful and really nice chap) regarding clarification with events which I was querying involving Fluegel's Knights Cross award. Caused me some confusion as Trang quotes the citation and places it in the 18-19 August timeframe. Confused me no end working out how the Panthers could motor about at will through the middle of a full on Soviet offensive. Long story short the original citation got the date wrong! Both Mr Nash and Ewald Klapdor were right in their framing of the time and place.
The map above is the location for the harrowing retreat that his small panzergruppe undertook the night of the 18/19 August and is mentioned in detail in the book. But thats not the action I'll be doing on this map - more the earlier local German counterattacks by Fluegal's panzergruppe against the attacking elements from 8th Guards Tank Corps (Part of 2nd Tank Army) led by Major General Vasily Vasilievich Koshelev (who was a Hero of Stalingrad) and 76th Guards Rifle Division (part of 114th Rifle Corps).

Obviously from the "From the Realm of a Dying Sun" book, Volume 1. Hundreds of battles in the series (reading Volume 1 now), lots of tanks and artillery. Looking forward to seeing how this develops.
    The maps look great!
    Keep us posted.

The name is my WIP reference name and refers to a rather confused action around the village of Jasienica and the town of Tluszcz in Poland mid August 1944.
This map is fairly large (4x3km) but has been giving me a bit of trouble to sort out. Its low laying terrain with a rather complicated rail network on often embankments. looks easy but trying to get everything to match up... Also progress has been glacial slow due to RL. Still getting there.
This is the real world location on period maps and aerial images taken before the actions occurred (though judging by the shell holes it was getting some hot attention from bombing raids I suspect!

So first step was sketching out the map in CM.

This was pretty quick to do as effectively this is just sketching using the overlay. I'm not a fan of zig-zag roads. So i end up making compromises to 'fit' the overall 'feel' of the road/track/rail. I think this makes it easier for the player in game to plot road movements etc. So I compromise map accuracy for ease of play.
The real work comes when you start adding the elevations... This was a tough one as there are also lots of water features. Lots of do and re-do to only re-do-re-do...

So slowly taking shape. This is the railtrack at the north of the above maps looking west.

Looking south, from the west edge of the north of the map, towards the large wood block (on Google earth they are marked as 'Budziska'.

Looking back east from the above wood block - way in distanced will be Tluszcz (not started on that yet)

View of current state of work of the map. Only about a 1/4 done regarding terraforming! A looong way to go yet. The view here is the same view as above but slightly higher. I'm just starting doing the village of Jasienica itself (top right), which will take a wee while.
    Cheery!

I would like to know this as well. I'm holding off on playing CMCW multiplayer for now because I'd like to avoid using both the old PBEM and the new PBEM++ at the same time. So any information about the implementation of PBEM++ would be appreciated.

Portraits - looking to provide a bit of diversification with background smocks/camouflage patterns used by that nation or branch. Difficult for the Allies however... ideas anyone?
Special Equipment and Weapon Slots - Uniform across all titles. (Still messing with some shadows).

    New mod available.
    https://www.thefewgoodmen.com/cm-mod-warehouse/combat-mission-battle-for-normandy/cmbn-other/jujus-ui-mod-v6-unification-mod/
JuJu has announced that he was stepping back from modding in the CM community after many years stretching back to the CM1 days. Ithikial has been handed torch to Ithikial to keep the mod going. This release unifies the separate game families together to make the process going forward a touch easier. The unification project doesn't mean the mods for each title will now look identical, the exact opposite, however the common elements like weapon slots and silhouettes will now carry across the game families. It also adds support for the "Rome to Victory" and "Fire and Rubble" modules. All WW2 games are included in the one download at the link below.
Please read the included Read Me in the download. For any bug reports, errors and suggestions for improvement please post them to this thread (no PM's please!): https://community.battlefront.com/topic/139356-future-of-jujus-ui-mod-project-unification/   Screenshots and file names are a big help to help quickly identify the problems.
    Thanks for downloading and enjoy!

So yeah, if I had a magic wand I would create another development team and we would all be kicking some Space Lobster butts by next summer. But said magic wand has not fallen into my possession, therefore I don't see it happening any time soon." // Steve (July 25, 2012)

    Steve,
We have heard the story from MikeyD about the Valentine going in or not going into F&R. You're the boss. You take a high standard on TOE and historical accuracy. He proved it and you then agreed, it went in.
But for the vehicles that Casio has already modelled but are in other titles, the dogs and cats, like the R-35 or the Samoa, early Panzer III, (I can send you a list if you want me to bird dog it all) CAN THEY BE JUST SHOVED INTO THE EDITOR AS SINGLE VEHICLE PURCHASABLE? Please maybe also a water cooled HMG for the axis? And some infantry team WITHOUT panzerfausts? These would be clearly said as "Steve didn't approve but took pity on kohlenklau" and we threw it in for modding purposes as building blocks for SOME early war scenario ability...
..and I think this might have helped get me the Schwimmwagen...

    About The Scenario
This is one for the modern ‘Tread heads’ amongst you!
This is a revised version updating the orginal to CMSF2, so you will need the base game CMSF2 to play this. Revised AI Plan using triggers; tweaked map using new CMSF terrain features and updated OOB for both Syrian Army and Rebels. This is SF2 version 2 which has a slightly reduced mission time based on player feedback.
The actual scenario is very loosely based on events in Daraya, a suburb of Damascus where rebels from the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have attempted to create a stronghold near Damascus centre. In August 2012, the Syrian Army defeated the rebel forces and took control of the town. After the failed rebel offensive in late July 2012 ,the Syrian army started a campaign against rebels in the Damascus suburb.
This, the 2nd Battle of Darayya, is the ongoing battle between the Syrian Army and the rebels in the Damascus suburbs of Darayya. In mid-December when the Army intensified their attacks with heavy shelling and Tanks raids into the city.
This scenario depicts an armoured raid, typical of the tactics used by the Syrian Army to seize control of Daraya. You can view the video which shows these raids using footage (often filmed whilst under fire) shot by the rebels Syria - Men versus Tanks in Daraya - The Powerful T-72 Raids
So your scenario looks like the scenes in the above film I’d suggest modding your game using the following excellent mods links are to CMODS:
Longleft Flank’s Shot up Building;  Pete Wenman’s ‘Squalor’ mod;  Pete Wenman’s BlackSea favour objects for CMSF2 Map and Scenario Size
This is a fairly small map although it’s very built up.
    Map Size: 720m x 512m
Forces: Syrian Republican Guard armour Vs Syrian rebels (combatants and fighters)
    Best Played As
Can be played RT or WEGO. This is best played Blue Vs Red AI or H2H only.
There are two RED AI Plans.
If playing H2H it is recommended the more experienced player takes the RED side.
The scenario is NOT playable as Red VS Blue AI.
You can grab it from TSDIII at the following link:
    http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/tsd3/cm-shock-force-2-2/cmsf-2-daraya-tank-raid/
    Acknowledgments
Many thanks to Buzz, Erwin and Snake Eye at the BFC forum who played through the early Blue Vs Red versions and provided a lot of feedback. Thanks to Lethaface and Sublime who played this H2H and provided excellent feedback in this regard. Thanks also to Slysniper who took the SF2 version for a spin and provided some useful feedback. Cheers Guys!

Fizou reacted to dragonwynn in CMRT Finnish Campaign: The Battle of Tali-Ihantala
Recently kohlenklau who is heading up the mod team of the Finnish Mod asked me to contribute a short campaign to go with the mod pack. Below are the details.
    The Battle of Tali-Ihantala

The Battle of Tali-Ihantala is a CMRT Mini-Campaign depicting the actions of the Finnish IV Army Corps during June -July 1944 on the Karelian Isthmus. It was designed
originally with version 3 of CMRT but was finished with version 4. However none of the new features in version 4 were incorporated into this campaign. It should
play out fine in either version but let me know if problems arise.
As always let me know of any corrections or problems as the campaign has only been quick tested.

The battles depicted in this campaign, which is part of the Continuation War  had been going since 1941. It focuses mainly on the actions of Finnish 18th Division and
several supporting units. I tried to tag each unit with the correct Finnish abreviations as well as included the actual commanders but if any of our Finnish players
see anything totally screwed up let me know. Below is a listing of the core units:
    Core Units:
    1 P JR48 (1 Battalion Infantry Regiment 48) Eversti (Col.) Vaino Forsberg
    2 P JR48 (2 Battalion Infantry Regiment 48)
    2 P JR6 (2 Battalion Infantry Regiment 6)
    2 P JR12 (2 Battalion Infantry Regiment 12) Eversti (Col.) Yrjo Hanste
    3 P JR13 (3 Battlion Infantry Regiment 13) (Company of Swedish Volunteers)
    1 Er.P 16 (Seperate Battalion 16)
3 Jaeger JP (Jaeger Battalion) Eversti (Col.) Albert Puroma
1 Er.Pion.K (Pioneer Battalion) Everstiluutnantti (Lt. Col.) Reino Inkinen
Panssaridivisoona ( 2 Rynnakkotykki Assault Gun Battalion) Kenraalimajuri (Maj. Gen.) Ruben Lagus
Sturm Brigade 303 (German Assault Gun Unit) Hauptman Friedrich Scherer
    1/SG3 (Lufftwaffe)(Gefechtsverband Kuhlmey) Ju-87D Ground Attack Aircraft
    1/SG5 (Lufftwaffe)(Gefechtsverband Kuhlmey) Fw-190F8 Ground Attack Aircraft
    Soviet Forces:
    45th Guards Rifle Division
    63rd Guards Rifle Division
    27th Tank Regiment
    30th Armoured Brigade
    Campaign Tree:
    1. The Assault on Tali
    2. Portinhoikka Crossroads
    3. Counterattack at Tali
    4. The Road Block at Ihantala
This campaign features the excellent Finnish Mod Pack designed by the team put together by kohlenklau and all credit goes to them. The mod pack is included
in the download. I added a Finnish Stug III mod to the pack to represent the Finnish armoured units. The mods are tagged for this specific cmapaign and should not interfere with any other campaigns or battles with the exception of the Finnish voice pack included in the mod folder. Remove this folder after playing or your German pixeltruppen may speak Finnish.
All the maps were hand created by me based on what information I could find and google maps. Hopefully they represent the battle locations reasonably accurate.
Also be sure to read the campaign designer notes as I have added some historical information about the battle.
    Hope it proves enjoyable
    Michael
Here is the link to the campaign. Just place the mod folder into the dataz folder in your CMRT directory and the .cam file into the campaign directory.

Maybe some folks can help me? I have atrophied on some of my CM related skills and know-how...
Q1. Is dropbox the thing I should use or is there something better? I would eventually upload to CMMODS of course but I always loved the freedom of sending dropbox links so people could try out my mods or or scenarios and provide quick feedback.
Q2. I guess photobucket is mad at me, I used to see my images plain but now they say photobucket across them. For future image hosting and posting here, what is best?
Q3. I had a free download of photoshop but now it seems to always crash. Is there something else free that I can open my old photoshop files with?
I appreciate any advice on the above Q's. Thanks.
