  1. I've got a couple of the converted maps.....Will have a look in due course. I hope this isn't the case because my Fragmentistan II stuff is built with CM:BS on CM:FI & CM:FB maps.
  2. For multiplayer all you need to do is remove the existing units, maybe reconfigure the setup zones and then save it under a suitable name to the Quick Battle Maps folder.....If you want to use it against the AI you will probably have a lot of work to do.
  3. The 115mm gun hits a hell of a lot harder than the 100mm and that's a fact.
  4. Anyone get one yet? I've fired zillions of rounds and it's not happened once. Are you sure there wasn't a bad guy with an AMR out there somewhere, plinking your tracks?
  5. The Turks also have the full fat cannon armed version: Apparently that one was in Mogadishu.....Camo for the ones in Syria is as in your image.
  6. That's part of its charm for me TBH. Wonder if the maps could be ported to CM:SF II?
  7. If you can do matching YPRs I've already largely written a scenario (one AI scripted, no briefings) and it doesn't use crew-swapping so it should be portable. BTW - The picture you chose doesn't make it obvious, but that example and many other Turkish Leos actually have three colour camo.....Four black corners and four green stripes (these may be the legacy of over-painted NATO camo): Don't worry though, plain is fine too: I believe the camoed examples are replacements/reinforcements after the first lot got trashed.....What's that saying about repeating a plan and expecting a different outcome?
  8. A couple more postcards from 'The Valley': Not a fortress, honest! Peace be upon them. Very close to finished now, just the area south of the highway and a few assorted bald patches to fill in (see foreground in first picture).....Then about a million more flavour objects to add.
  9. They clearly needed @General Jack Ripper to take command. It should be possible to do a lot more of this with the new engine, both @MOS:96B2P and I have been experimenting with using demo-charge equipped AI units on the map. At present you kind of need to customise the buildings for best effect, but with experimentation you can usually get them to do what you want without making it massively obvious what's afoot. Just having 16 AI slots to play with will make a huge difference.....In Mosul my static units took up one slot, as did the (snowballed) VBIEDS, the initial attack wave took three slots and the (snowballed) tunnel rats used up the remainder.
  10. This was my opinion too at first, although much more so for the T-90A/T-90AM than the mighty Abrams.....However I realised that I was basing my evaluation on my godlike view with no unit selected in Iron Mode, when I selected the vehicle in question and saw its 'perception' of the battlefield, the behaviour made a lot more sense. Give it a try. IMHO Iron Mode is both a very useful tool and by far the best way to play. PS - Not saying I disagree BTW, merely that on reflection it's not quite as bad as I thought it was.
  11. Personally I'm filling the time with old Italeri kits, but if it doesn't come out soon I'll probably have to switch to full on self flagellation!
  12. Wizardry? Where? I rather fancy experimenting with something, big, unscripted and with a plausible force balance (ie: with no Oplots on holiday from Thailand).....This is the best example I know. Don't expect any actual output (although I'll be happy to send you what I do), I'm still quite new to the later games. PS - Wonder if you can paint triggers in water?
  13. It's definitely easiest to script for the defender first, test a few triggers and stances, see how it works out.....Do you mind if I have a mess with it?
  14. This is only LWJ's account, they could be wrong.....I don't think they are, but they could be. Here's their current control map: https://www.longwarjournal.org/mapping-taliban-control-in-afghanistan PS - You missed one, July 26: 'Taliban Suicide Bomber Targets Afghan Intelligence Personnel Who Are Targetting Taliban': https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2018/07/taliban-suicide-bomber-attacks-afghan-intel-officers-in-kabul.php You really couldn't make this **** up!
  15. I tried to replicate this but couldn't, I used BMP-3s.....Would be but the work of a moment to make 'em BMP-3M (ERA)s..... Done and testing. PS - Test file here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/obyqa6lp1itlxm0/[Test] BMP-3Guns.btt?dl=0 The BMPs usually switch to 100mm cannon after 3-4 minutes.
  16. That generally makes things a bit more playable.....For me the biggest offender is not the Abrams, it's the Bradley. After pounding them with multiple 122mm precision munitions and still having them beat T-90As to the shot/kill in 'Galloping Horse Downfall', I'm of the opinion that they too all seeing and quite are a bit too tough (as opposed to Abrams which is just too all seeing IMHO). Just my opinion, FWIW.
  17. Not sure how well genuinely removable APS modules would work out, I'd imagine the radar wouldn't like it much, so I suspect that once they're on, they're on.....At least until the vehicle undergoes major maintenance or is withdrawn from the theatre.
  18. Looks a very impressive scrap.....Did you ever add an AI to this @HerrTom?
  19. That last map seems to rather exaggerate the territory controlled by ISIS. Should we bring discussion of the never-ending fighting in Afghanistan into this thread? I've been following LWJ's reporting.....NATO & the US administration continue to peddle 'alternative facts': https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2018/05/mattis-claims-taliban-cannot-win-at-the-ballot-box.php & have now even resorted to 'body counts': https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2018/07/nato-command-touts-body-count-of-taliban-irreconcilables.php Naturally the Taliban disagree, vehemently: https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2018/06/taliban-denies-it-is-in-secret-talks-with-nato.php https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2018/07/taliban-again-equates-their-islamic-emirate-with-the-afghan-nation.php & it has to be said, the facts on the ground are rather difficult to reconcile with NATO's account: https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2018/05/afghan-military-identifies-7-provincial-capitals-under-pressure.php https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2018/05/taliban-activity-in-ghazni-city-highlights-deteriorating-security-in-afghanistan.php https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2018/05/as-taliban-enters-farah-city-resolute-support-wrongly-claims-afghan-government-is-in-control.php https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2018/05/taliban-claims-it-seizes-2-afghan-districts.php https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2018/07/afghan-military-suffers-significant-casualties-since-end-of-governments-ceasefire.php
  20. Very off topic, but I don't suppose you could work out the dimensions of the Turkish flag on the turret in 1/72 scale for me could you? I'm planning on building a Turkish Leo, the flag's the only thing that eludes me.....The smallest Turkish flag decal that I can find is 3mm x 2mm PS - Oh look that Jihadist has a MANPAD.....The CIA will be very upset!
  21. Two roughly equal, but easily distinguishable Uncon factions would be a very handy thing to have.....When they're not fighting Red or Blue, they're fighting each other. Flexibility is king IMHO, the more we can do, the more we will.....CM players seem to be built that way.
