  1. Your problem could be caused by any one of several things, what AV are you using for instance? It may be necessary to create an exception for the game/games (I've had to do so with all of my CM titles).....Your best bet at diagnosing and fixing the issue might be to open a support ticket on the main site, here: https://www.battlefront.com/support PS - If you are lucky @Schrullenhaft might be on hand to offer some specific advice right here.
  2. I've got a few plans for the Bishr map when CM:SF2 comes out (I'm mostly over the 'ammo dump issue' now).....Red vs. Red in a really big city, that's not Ramadi (or Mosul).
  3. The General's real trick was speed.....He captured his objectives and hit ceasefire while ISIS were still groping their way through the tunnels. I didn't think it could be done so quickly, but I was impressed with the result and decided to leave it in there.....You still have to capture sufficient objectives while taking sufficiently few casualties for it to work.
  4. Did you know you can use AI controlled engineers to rearrange the internal structure? Try creating a small AI group with only engineers, have them use an Assault order through a linear obstacle/wall etc (paint a single tile adjacent to the wall, then use an Assault command from there to an adjacent tile on the other side of the obstacle), there's a good chance they'll use a demo charge to blow open a rout.....Much experimentation and some customisation of structures is required for best results, but the potential is there.
  5. It's a sorry state of affairs it really is.....But at least it will make for a decent (ie: particularly vicious) CM:SF2 campaign, I guess.
  6. The good news just keeps coming: https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2018/08/taliban-video-shows-fighters-on-captured-afghan-base-in-baghlan.php https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2018/08/afghan-forces-cede-faryab-district-to-the-taliban.php I wonder how Resolute Support will explain this lot away? The 'Control Map' is looking particularly livid: https://public.tableau.com/views/TalibanControlinAfghanistan/MapExport?:embed=y&:toolbar=no&:embed_code_version=3&:loadOrderID=0&:display_count=yes
  7. They might still be playing it through.....That one can take as much time and attention as a full campaign if you want to do it justice. Very highly recommended.
  8. Fully agree with your comment regarding the map looking right from the soldier's perspective.....Troops leaving a building and running to their deaths outside because they can't use an internal door due to elevation issues is much more damaging to immersion than a few misplaced buildings or spot heights (IMHO). I try to lock building clusters at a single elevation where possible, preserving the overall elevation changes if I can, but not at the expense of playability.
  9. Returning to the subject of the thread, Time has an 'on the ground' account of the fighting in Ghazni (from a US perspective), here: http://time.com/longform/ghazni-fight-taliban/
  10. Even from that distant view it has a very realistic feel. How much elevation change have you managed to include? It's always tricky in urban settings, caused me to grind to a halt on a couple of CM:SF projects.
  11. Many a true word is spoken in jest: https://www.duffelblog.com/2018/08/pentagon-says-taliban-can-just-have-ghazni-we-didnt-want-it-anyway/ https://www.duffelblog.com/2018/08/united-nations-loves-the-taliban/ It's really getting quite difficult to discern the news from the parody.....What an utter mess!
  12. Really looking forward to seeing the finished map.....Truly epic stuff, I hope in future some kind soul might convert it to CM:BS too, it has so much potential.
  13. Same vehicle, they just bolted all the bits on:
  14. My biggest question about the force balance in this battle pretty much amounts to "Why were the Syrians probing a NATO force anyway.....Are they mad?". I really can't see even the Republican Guard mounting a counteroffensive in the face of a US led NATO assault, it would be utterly suicidal.....Far better for Syrian forces to retreat into the bigger towns & cities where NATO's ROE will limit the effectiveness of airpower. C'mon guys, give us a battle we can really get our teeth into!
  15. The triggerman's tendency to take potshots at enemy forces is a big mitigating factor.....If you suspect IEDs are present (scenario designers should always leave you a hint IMHO as they cannot be spotted) a little 'recon by fire' on possible overwatch sites can pay dividends (well in my scenarios it can, at any rate).
  16. Resolute Support are now deep within the realm of 'Alternative Facts': https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2018/08/analysis-gen-nicholson-says-us-strategy-in-afghanistan-is-working-despite-the-facts.php They should appoint 'Comical Ali' as their spokesperson!
  17. You don't get that till you are dead and then your comms with the living are cut.
  18. This article takes some getting into, but stick with it, they do have a very valid point: http://smallwarsjournal.com/jrnl/art/talibans-weaponization-moral-authority-afghanistan-part-1-3 The Taliban have very efficiently replaced the traditional Afghan symbols of moral authority with their own ghastly interpretations: All very sad really.
  19. As it turns out you guys who thought it was a T-80UK were correct, Alex Clark found me a picture of the same vehicle from a different angle: So as it turns out it had six smoke dischargers all along, they were mostly hidden by the Shtora boxes in the first image: FWIW
  20. Yup.....I attempted the same explanation somewhere, it's a technique I use a lot.
  21. @Mord You've said something that I've been thinking for quite some time.....Will definitely contribute if there's a possibility.
