  1. BPT: "Hey you guys are going the wrong way....." RPT: "Allah Ackbar etc." BPT: "Fekk!"
  2. I prefer these: http://www.mortarinvestments.eu/products/tanks-2#currency=USD
  3. You can kind of represent them with the basic FV.432.....Not ideal, but it's the best we can do right now. A vehicle pack for this game and CMBS would be great news IMHO.....We can but hope.
  4. Good point.....I'm pretty (absolutely) sure you are correct. However if we are using this concept to assist players new to the CM games, that's probably not the end of the world. It allows the designer the scope to set up some genuinely nasty side-challenges (to keep the experienced player occupied) while letting the novice have a real chance of overcoming any errors that they may inadvertently make through inexperience. Overall I approve. PS - Going to experiment with the hidden Occupy Objective, fairly confident it's a goer, but it never hurts to check.
  5. This would be another excellent addition, as would Reinforcement by Trigger/Objective etc. I believe this can already be achieved (but only if the player is strictly honest with himself) by placing some or all of the available reinforcements on hidden Occupy Objectives, however gamey players might attempt to re-occupy the objectives with decimated squads/crews etc. etc.
  6. Cheers, it's still a WIP, I guess it's probably my farewell to CMSF1, so I'm trying to put my absolute best into it.....The map has taken me ages, it's slightly larger and more complex than that of 'Ashsh al-Dababir' (a whopping 400mx400m) and I'm now at the point of tweaking it for best AI performance. I also still have to add quite a few more flavour objects to give it that 'lived in' feel. The first third of the fighting is fully scripted, I'm now experimenting with various timings and attempting to get the pacing right. Almost everything is intricately snowballed in this one, it's an amazingly useful technique.....I'm hoping that this scenario should prove surprisingly busy (for a game with only eight AI & Reinforcement slots) even for experienced players.
  7. CMSF1 (NATO Module required). ISIS are not well renowned for their 'niceness'. TBH I'd do things rather differently with the CMSF2 engine, even more so if it had persistent map damage.
  8. Excellent.....I fully intend to rebuild my 'Ottoman Dawn' scenario in CMSF2 with the aim of tagging up your mods and including them in the file (if that's OK with you).
  9. It reminded me of one of those 'Top Ten Best Tanks' or similar articles from the National Interest or War Is Boring, it contains a roughly similar amount of wishful thinking and liberal interpretation of facts too.
  10. Two reinforced companies, 320mx320m of urban Mosul, an hour & a half to clear it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wfjnp2xy78c1e2g/Ashsh al-Dababir.btt?dl=0 Give it your best shot.
  11. That's just old fashioned.....In Syria (& Iraq) they used this: CMSF2/CMBS Vehicle Pack anyone?
  12. The Grauniad is going down hill faster & faster.
  13. Impressive multi-shot coverage, but it's kind of bulky compared to the latest iterations of the competitors like Arena & Trophy.
  14. Just occurred to me, but do the Russians have any ECM in TOC? Could that be a factor in the drone's difficulties?
  15. You too huh? Goddam myopic piece of electronic junk!
  16. Great work on these mods @MikeyD.....I'll definitely be making full use of them in a scenario. Re: Turkey's odd AFV camo.....I'm fairly convinced that it's a partial 'sand' overpaint of the usual three colour NATO scheme, they seem to cover all the brown leaving just the odd arcs & patches of green & black. I could well be wrong, I often have before.
  17. For me that image just reinforces what a bloody fine job you did of mapping the terrain.....Given the limits of the CM engine what you achieved is doubly remarkable. Kudos (again).
  18. Interesting.....I think I've had the same experience, but didn't have saves to verify it.
  19. You might have done the attackers a favour by leaving the Hinds out.....In CM:SF1 they are very prone to killing the guys at the wrong end of the blue line (I don't know if this is still the case in CM:SF2). In CM:A on the other hand they are very, very thorough.
  20. I believe that's actually the most sophisticated T-72 variant in the game, the AV with TURMS fire control.....Syrians had some seriously old-fashioned **** back then. Have to admit, I am getting very excited to get my hands on the game, but I want the whole thing, the demo will just **** me off.
