  1. That is very cool.....An M48A3 would be even cooler, but seeing a Patton of any kind in CM is exceedingly cool!
  2. And on the other hand: Second hand 2S1s from the Czech Republic. http://gurkhan.blogspot.com/2019/09/18-122-21.html
  3. Sweet.....I want to get that brick building placed on a few of my maps and I'm itching to try out the tags too. We should have quite a wide spectrum of terrain before too long.....I was surprised at how different the former 'Lair' map looked from its parent with just a change of tag, a few terrain tweaks and some bending of the elevations here & there.
  4. That shouldn't only be for the townies mate.....So I'm making you a new 'countryside residence' for these wonderful items, it's called 'The Hill'.
  5. IIRC the first scenario starts with a yomp to a series of compounds on the player's left.....I wonder if the designer was trying to slow them down a bit? I'd guess if you quick move them, they would tire more rapidly than less heavily loaded units.
  6. I've gone down the road of separate installs for the bigger mods ('Heaven & Earth').
  7. That's all a campaign is, but it automatically does the book-keeping between missions.....All the scenarios still have to be built and tested one at a time. In some cases they can be reused with minor variation in different branches of a campaign story, so there is some advantage to using the campaign structure.
  8. I have a nasty vision of an H&S incident involving spears!
  9. Still need one more victim volunteer to fight 'The Opium War' against @Aurelius.....Any takers please (I'd like to tick this one off as done ASAP)?
  10. BMD fail: http://gurkhan.blogspot.com/2019/09/blog-post_23.html
  11. That's exactly how it works and exactly the issue. In Abdul Gul's War I'm naming the Mujahideen Battalion (there are two) & the Company COs.....These are the characters of major significance to the story (Abdul Gul himself is a Company CO) and the demise of any of them will probably trigger a branch in the campaign script. At present I'm doing some minor reworking to my big city map, bringing a couple of areas a bit closer to my current style.....With that done I'll remake the early scenarios to a new format (as discussed with @MOS:96B2P) to reduce the risk of a 'RPG Induced Rage Quit'.
  12. 'The Opium War', a very simple two-player only scenario, set on my valley map, is available for testing: If you are interested, ping me a PM. PS - Just noticed I misspelled 'Vasilyek', most embarrassing.....Another one set on this map, but that's for another day.
  13. Wrong thread.....Still want to see CM:A brought back into the fold though.
  14. That sort of thing certainly didn't appear to apply with either CM:SF(original) or CM:A.....In the latter I've had a three man Spy Team arm themselves (by Buddy-Aid) with a PPSh-41, a RPK-74 and an AK-74 with 40mm GL!
  15. I could probably rustle something up along those lines using 'H&E'.....Well, actually, I already am. My mini-campaign starts out with the player chasing a group of Islamist bandits and heroin traffickers, led by the notorious Mg-Pyay-Ag (Trust me, you'll really, really start to hate him!).....Various 'complications' follow on from there. PS - If you want to try an early iteration of the first scenario, ping me a PM. PPS - Also check out what @MOS:96B2P has been up to recently.....I've tested an early version of that and it is a truly brilliant concept!
  16. Now that's what I call a useful AAR (from the designer's perspective).....Kudos for getting into the editor and actually looking for fixes & issues for yourself.
  17. Sometimes getting your units into positions with good cover, decent line of sight (arcs help) and just plain waiting can reveal a lot.....Spotting is not instant in CM, it can take a while for your units to notice what's out there. If you want to take a more direct approach, heroic two man scout teams can be used to draw fire (I use short dashes from cover to cover, with lots of pauses and the occasional slow move to get out of tight spots). Finally, recon by fire is a perfectly acceptable tactic.....Suspect there are infantry in the building? Stick a 75mm HE round through a window! If there is screaming.....
