  1. I'm currently working on a heavily modified variant of the northeastern corner of the delta, basically it's one of my mini-MOUT maps, with a fairly sizeable chunk of rice-paddy and beachfront terrain appended.....Among the buildings there is a cinema, readily identifiable by the posters outside: Apparently, the one in the middle was very popular with the locals.
  2. Hopefully the new format hills are more user-friendly than my earlier efforts.....Once the mod's out there I'd certainly love to see what you do with it.
  3. I've noticed that Spies seem very reluctant to pick up weapons in CM:SF2 compared to the original.....Which saddens me somewhat.
  4. Really nice to see some life on it after staring at it in the editor for so long.....The new boats are splendid.
  5. That's the problem.....'Heaven & Earth' is neither. We can give you a very decent approximation, but CM:Vietnam this is not.
  6. Funnily enough I was messing with some of my CM:A stuff last night, the map is done, but I haven't done anything further with it: I got a bit side-tracked with 'Heaven & Earth'.....I'll have another look at it in the coming weeks. I'm assuming it's the Blue campaign concept (Abdul Gul's War) that would be of the most interest? @MOS:96B2P ran some tests for me and we've come to the conclusion that changes need to be made to the early scenarios to reduce the potential for frustration (this largely revolves around the removal of RPGs from the enemy TOE while Abdul Gul has only a handful of men under his command).
  7. IRL there is no such tank. The closest approximations are in Thailand.
  8. No worries.....I already have some (and matching M48A3 & M113 ACAV etc. etc. ad infinitum).
  9. Have you considered placing pillboxes inside buildings to toughen them up? Perfectly legitimate, if a little tricky to do in the editor.
  10. I like the first, camo, version.....It's suitably ambiguous, whereas the second seems to imply the availability of US units.....To me at least. I'd be interested to know where you found the silhouette, it's a direct copy of an old ESCI 1/72 figure (or vice versa):
  11. I enjoyed the initial version, it was properly hectic! Happy to help out with testing of updated versions if you need another hand.....I'm kind of fond of MOUT battles.
  12. This would probably actually suit my purposes even better than if they spoke Portugese! #goodnews
  13. It seems we are probably actually more in agreement than we disagree.....But I suspect we both actually knew that already. The story of the start of the Syrian civil-war remains to be examined in detail, suffice it to say that the version presented by the western media has a certain bias.....When the truth comes out, which it always does, nobody will come away smelling of roses.
  14. Oh FFS.....Guess someone will have to fix that. Please god tell me they will at least get their own voice slot and they don't share the American files? @37mm.....Looks like I'm going to need even more of your assistance if 'Banana Republic' is ever going to get off the ground!
  15. Not running towards enemy (who I suspect they may not have been fully aware of).....Running away from explosion (that they were all too aware of). IMHO
  16. Yes & no. There's more than one way to control media and the public perception thereof. That is precisely what it is, as the documentation makes perfectly plain.....All the cutouts & fronts in the world don't change the fact that weapons from the same batch purchased by a US company have turned up in the hands of ISIS in several countries! Imagine the FBI discovered that US gangs were mysteriously being supplied with weapons bought by a Russian company, purportedly for use in Mexico.....All hell would break loose. Unnecessary, rude and TBH a display of sheer ignorance.....What did you expect, a memo on White House headed stationary? Cut the double-standards.....If this level of evidence were ever presented against the Russians, you would be all over it like flies on ****. Agreed.....Adding more guns to a situation rarely results in a sudden ceasefire. PS - What gives the US, NATO or anyone else a say on Syria? Maybe answer that one before spouting off inanities.
  17. Pistoleers can be surprisingly deadly and also a lot of fun.....So deadly and so much fun, in fact, that their antics may have inspired a whole campaign: I started messing around with a 'Taxi Wars' concept, partly for this reason.....But @MOS:96B2P 's concept was better!
  18. The random maps were awful.....They did generate nice contours though, so if you erased everything else they could be the basis for a nice map.
  19. You are right, they just ain''t there.....@IanL, this might be one for you to check on (could have sworn I'd used them prior to recent patches).
