There are a number of vehicles across the titles that are in the game because they're in the real world TO&E but are of little utility at CM scale. None of that is CM's fault, its just part of the world they're trying to simulate. You need to learn to work around the disadvantages as well as exploit the advantages,

Can't speak for the M-577 but all British Army armoured vehicles have this capability.  Gentlemen, I present the Boiling Vessel (BV):

Well, two actually, but you get the picture.

There is no reason to put your M577 anywhere near the front.

They are there to give your HQ units a ride, and to facilitate their job. That is, they gain some mobility, some protection against artillery, and access to a radio and the facility to make tea.

Correct - also the abundance of sand is not particularly reminiscent of northern Europe.  Nonetheless that is how they set up.  I was in the British Army during the Cold War and we would set up in very much a similar fashion.  The trick was to try and find an empty factory or a big enough farm with plenty of barns to set up in.

Well as this game is set in a conflict that never happened and it could possibly have involved Swedish involvement if there was Soviet incursions into Swedish territorial waters, land or airspace so why not? It's the reason 6mm Wargames miniatures are made for their kit.
Plus who wouldn't want to see S-Tanks, PBV's & IKV's in 'action' not to mention BILL atgm and they had lovely planes too!

I know this has probably come up before and its probably not do-able due to game engine stuff but there's always been a couple of things that I wish could happen in CM games.
Firstly some sort of Command & Control restriction if formation commanders get knocked out. In my Soviet campaign game I've just lost a MR Company's commander and I can still merrily give orders to his platoons, it'd be ace if there was some sort of 'lock' on giving them orders for a certain amount of time to add a bit of friction to things - I know I could role-play it but still might be a 'nice' problem to have.
Secondly, it would be great to merge understrength units together in campaigns, so if you end up with say a platoon with sections of 3, 2 & 4 men you could merge them into one large section then possibly merge two understrength platoons into one etc. Just think it'd add an extra bit of realism to the game.
As I said I know it probably can't happen but it'd be the icing on the cake of a great game for me - and CW is the most fun I've had playing CM in ages, thanks a lot to the team behind it and here's hoping we see the rest of NATO & Warpac forces in the future (and the Swedes, Finns & Austrians would be ace too - I have the Austrians in 6mm form for tabletop gaming!).

So I've now confirmed that ammo sharing does not happen between different, non-affiliated units; ie. not from the same section or squad. While one can make the arguement that people might want to hang on to the ammo they have, particularly if everyone is getting low, I have a howitzer ammo-bearer from a different section next to another section's howitzer, and they're NOT allowing the howitzer's crew access to their ammo. This is surely dumb, particularly when the bearer's original gun has been lost.
I also have a spotter unit that picked up some mortar ammo during a previous buddy aid, but will not allow a mortar section that's adjacent to it access to that ammo, even though, obviously, it has absolutely no use for the ammo itself!
On a more general unit, I've seem units with a pile of 9mm ammo (for example) stacked with a unit that's run out, and yet not allow that other unit to share said pile.
This really should be fixed please.

"Follow" command that works in terrain or on roads, and duplicates the waypoints for each following unit so adjustments can be made.

I don't think I have the save, but the 'best' I've gotten is taking out 2 unbuttoned BMP's with 1 tank round in the final mission of the NTC campaign.
The shot came from pretty much straight on the side of the BMP, went through the new meat-based internal armor system and knocked out the 2nd BMP that was lined up on the other side.  I couldn't see a round passing through, so I assume that instead of penetrating through both, the first BMP's ammo detonated and the explosion was massive enough to knock out the 2nd BMP.
I might be wrong, but I suspect modern rounds may have less of a tendency to over-penetrate like rounds of the past would/could in some cases, with advanced fuses and all of that. But it would be fun to test!  I might have to make a video of it one of these days if it produces interesting results!
Now this makes me wonder if there's a way to inspect a vehicle after a battle to see details on how it died, more than simply the name of what killed it? I'm a bit spoiled by Graviteam games where it shows penetrations / partial penetrations / deflects in pretty great detail (attached image to demonstrate)

I think the turret rotation is not working in a lower-detail model of the M60A3 (TTS). It glitches from showing the proper rotation to pointing straight ahead. As a consequence the shadow of the gun barrel is always straight ahead.

I'm a little surprised to see quite a lot of Soviet T-72's in the game. Were there ever Soviet tanks of this type deployed in East Germany? If I recall correctly they were in service with the third echelon units based in USSR. The main Soviet tank in GDR in late 70's was still T-62 and it was being replaced by T-80. I realize that for average westerner every Soviet tank from that period was T-72, but this impression is not correct.

Great videos, I've subscribed. I watched the last part of 'Stemming the Tide' last night and it looks a right tough fight.
It's one of the things I'm really enjoying about this version of CM, it seems like the AI can give you a good hard game if you make any mistakes, I'm dreading taking on a human opponent!

    Remember your training, Corporal!

Corporal did not in fact remember his training. The Dragon ploughed into the street and they received a kindly worded reply delivered by 125mm express mail.
Meanwhile, the rest of the company deploys on a hillside, searching for signs of Ivan.

Good scouting gave us some good warning, allowing us to catch a forward security element by surprise.

T-64s are beasts! This one ate a TOW and kept trucking along.

Thankfully, Potash Platoon was able to finish it off.

Meanwhile, Sgt Frazier of 2nd Platoon/B Company unloads into defensive positions, ready to hit the Soviets hard!
