jeffsmith
Great job. I wonder if BF knew a decade passed so quickly without your post? Hiram Sedai
My account still works! I read the boards for a year before signing up originally. Then, I stumbled into the Peng thread thingy and was giving cod piece cleaning duty. good times...
MarkEzra
Waited for the CMBO Demo. Bought a PC that could play the CMBO Demo. Played the CMBO Demo...Died and went to heaven. Spoke with Fionn and was resurrected as a PBEM player of malice and mirth. Met MaxM and fell in love, wives and sweethearts be damned! Quickly learned the true value of headphones and marriage counseling. Met Joe Shaw and was taught vengeance is not always mine. I've been responsible of the murder of thousands of pixel truppen and played Italians in CMAK. I have become, in my greying age of innocence long lost, a Fanboi. My fate having been sealed that day in Nov. 1999, I embrace what I have become: a member in odd standing of this venerable forum!
Joe Shaw
My account still works! I read the boards for a year before signing up originally. Then, I stumbled into the Peng thread thingy and was giving cod piece cleaning duty. good times...Not quite correct lad, you were GIVEN cod piece cleaning duty. Your statement implies that you were the one in charge of giving the duty and, trust me on this, you were not. But I've never seen cleaner cod pieces nor shinier piss buckets than we had during your tenure as Serf. Mark Ezra I seem to recall that you won more than your share ... which can pretty much be said of most of my opponents. But I STILL recall that glorious first QB we set up ... a tremendous and close fought PBEM that would made a great scenario. A real tribute to the game and that incredible QB system. gibsonm
Well if you call them BFC, get some time up. Referring to BTS is the sign of a vet.

BFCElvis
Hey! What happened to my start date. I was #152 with a November '99 signup date that got reset in the refresh monkey incident and was changed to May 2000. But December 2007???? Someone get someone on the phone.... And good to see my bandwagon jumping buddy Hiram.
BFCElvis
*sniff***Found my first post...*sniff* and not surprisingly I'm whining. *sniff* I told myself I wouldn't cry. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=10801
Pvt. Ryan
Wow, you posted that eight years before you joined the forum.
theFightingSeabee
I've only been a forum member for a year or two, but I've been playing since I discovered Combat Mission when I was bored at work in 2000. I downloaded the demo and have been hooked ever since!
GLynn41
congrats BFC I have all the CM games so far and intend to for the future good job and all the best--I actually signed up when CMbo came and had a low number but let it go oh well -- that about 30 bucks will get me the next game
Taras Bulba
I just realized that I have been enjoying the CM games for quite a while now. Damn...time flies and I just get older.
Battlefront.com
Thanks all! Yup, it's hard to believe that 10 years has gone by so quickly. It's gratifying to know that we've somehow managed to beat the odds. There's only a couple of wargaming companies, including boardwargaming ones, that can say that. I'm still saddened to think of how Avalon Hill and SSI left the scene since they are the primary reasons I got into wargaming in the first place. Rick
No joke about time flying as you get older. It doesn't seem possible that I've been doing this for ten years now. BTW, the screenshot looks fantastic. I'm the type of guy that a gameplay detail would've been a much bigger tease though.
hoolaman
It looks like I have been here almost exactly half that time. Combat Mission and this forum have allowed me to procrastinate my way through the prime of my life, and for that I'm thankful... or something.
Michael Emrys
It looks like I have been here almost exactly half that time. Six is almost exactly half of ten? Which was it you flunked, math or logic? Michael
hoolaman
Erm, I flunked "what year is it?". Though my join date had to be updated by moon after the forum reset, so I might have just made it up.
birdstrike
10 years? Wow, that's awesome! I think I joined after CMAK was released, only been playing CMBO for about half a year before that. With so many day one veterans around here, that makes me somewhat of a noob in CM terms, I guess - and it makes me feel so much younger.
Sgt Joch
Happy birthday BFC! I am still a relative newcomer. I completely missed CMBO since NW europe 44-45 was never my favorite theater. I only came onboard when the CMBB demo was released in fall 2002 and have been hooked ever since. Hopefully, the next 10 years will be as productive and succesful! ..and who knows, maybe I will eventually see my dream game: CM:VIETNAM!
Thomm
Hmm. Lets see if I can manipulate that last post to fit my needs ... CM:KOREA ... works! Best regards, Thomm
Meach
CM:ACW even tho I am Scottish. I think CM:WW1 would be great to see too.
Vergeltungswaffe
The journey has been wonderful. The world changes, but not so much in here. I look forward to many more years of entertainment.
Michael Emrys
I think CM:WW1 would be great to see too. That would be a tough sell. BFC might pull it off, but it would take a lot of very shrewd promotion to make it pay. Not to mention a very good game. Michael
MrSpkr
Not quite correct lad, you were GIVEN cod piece cleaning duty. Your statement implies that you were the one in charge of giving the duty and, trust me on this, you were not. Didn't he viciously elbow his way to the front of the line to volunteer for that particular duty? Steve
