Stryker
Does anybody still have the pictures of when CMBO was still ASL? Computer Gaming World had an article and picture from the work in progress at the time, and that's what got me here originally.

Dogface
B-17 was fun, my buddy Sean had it IIRC. I think I played more Sea Battle however.
Splinty
Jeez! I didn't get into computers until F15 III, I had a tandy 1000 286 with 16k of RAM. I was high speed, low drag.

I remember that article. I also remember thinking the game looked like crap because the vehicles weren't scaled correctly with the buildings. A friend of mine (Brian Rock) convinced me otherwise.

Captain Pies
I cut my teeth on SSL's Arnhem on my Spectrum 48k, I must have been about 11. I used to take about 12 hours to play the entire campaign. I'm so fond of that game that I still occasionally play it on a spectrum emulator.

clcaldwell
Hee, hee -- thanks, joe for this thread! My first computer wargame was Eastern Front for the Atari 400. Although at least with CMBO we had the demo to play -- which was what got me to buy the game. NOT a complaint, just an observation. CMBO still rocks -- Eastern Front for the Atari 400, not so much! -- nick
