I am really sorry for what is happening to you right now.
But please, can you continue this in another, appropriate thread? I would like to read about the game here.

Bufo reacted to Gkenny in Battlefront should implement a publically viewable bug tracking site.
As I have played combat mission over a few years now, one thing that I have constantly seen is how disorganized the process of bug tracking/fixing appears to be. People post multiple topics for each game, other bugs simply get lost in existing topics, and unless a beta tester or one of the devs happens to see the post chances are it won't be recognized, whether it be campaign issues, Tac AI issues, or model issues. As such, I feel both Battlefront and the community would greatly benefit from a bug tracking site that allows users to post issues with descriptions and evidence, which can be viewed by all such that people can identify what has already been reported and acknowledged by the team. This would also allow others to contribute additional evidence/discussion to any specific bugs reported.
For example, take sites like these from the game Arma :
https://feedback.bistudio.com/project/view/1/
And from some mod teams:
https://dev.cup-arma3.org/
http://feedback.rhsmods.org/view_all_bug_page.php
Thoughts?

Bufo got a reaction from Saint_Mattis in What do you consider "acceptable" casualties?
You can replay any turn. This way you can complete campaigns without a single loss of anything.
Its only a matter of savescumming.

Bufo reacted to Bulletpoint in [bug] people get stuck
If we are creative we can explain away nearly any bug with such stories, but it is not very helpful to find and fix bugs in this game. I know you like the game and want to be kind to the people who make it, but in order to help them improve it, it is also necessary to sometimes focus on shortcomings and things that should be improved.

Bufo got a reaction from Scipio in Loading time tests with AMD GPU
So I did a little test because when I switched to an AMD GPU recently I discovered that the time it takes to load a game significantly worsened (with CM titles).
I have discovered that of the game options texture quality has an effect on that. And only that. Model quality, shader, multisampling etc. does not have an effect on this.
All times are given as m:ss, from a cold start (I have quit completely CM before starting the next test).
Test hardware: Ryzen 3600X + 5700XT + 32GB DDR4 RAM + Kingston HyperX Savage SSD
CMFI: Beyond the Belice scenario (tiny) loading times in accordance with the 3D texture qualities:
Fastest: 0:14
Faster: 0:19
Fast: 0:29
Balanced: 0:46
Improved: 2:16
Better: 2:17
Best: 2:18
CMFI: Hot Mustard scenario (huge)
Fastest: 0:46
Faster: 0:50
Fast: 1:01
Balanced: 1:12
Improved: 2:28
Better: 2:31
Best: 2:31
You may wonder whats the difference in picture quality. Test shots for each setting are here in QHD resolution:
Fastest, Faster, Fast, Balanced, Improved, Better, Best

"A vehicle must be unbuttoned to horizontally share (report) information from about 9 to 32 meters.
A vehicle can be buttoned & horizontally share (report) information if it is within 8 meters of the other vehicle."

Btw folks if you have redeemed your game on Steam be sure to leave a review. Well done reviews are important to the marketing of the game on Steam

Depends on what you want:
CMSF2 - hunting terrorists (USA vs peasants with rifles)
CMBS - classic warfare in the modern age (USA vs Russia)

Bufo got a reaction from Bulletpoint in New patch arty observation
I also had a guy who was hit directly - and I really mean directly - on the top of the head by an airburst mortar round, and he became only yellow injured.
He was running and didn't even stop. Like nothing happened.

It's the 21st century. AMD and Nvidia ship with tools to do this, AMD Relive and Nvidia Shadowplay. Don't use any garbage 3rd party tools. FRAPS and Bandicam are hilariously obsolete.

Bufo reacted to com-intern in Exciting news about Battlefront and Slitherine
Honestly people are panicking way too much over Steam reviews. To the point that I actually question whether people commenting actually use the platform. Here are some reviews for "serious wargames" many of which look significantly worse than CM. Some of these are literally chits on a map.
Command Ops 2: Very Positive
Graviteam Tactics: Very Positive
Flashpoint Campaigns: Very Positive
Armored Brigade: Very Positive
War in the East: Very Positive
War in the West: Very Positive
Decisive Campaigns: Very Positive
Command (CMO/CMNO): Very Positive
Scourge of War: Very Positive
Take Command: Positive

2 hours would be a terrible way to demo a complex game like CM.

Bufo reacted to IICptMillerII in Exciting news about Battlefront and Slitherine
Not gonna lie I am completely taken by surprise with this. I never thought I would see Combat Mission in steam. I thought at the most we would see it sold on the Slitherine store.
I hope this move benefits CM as a whole. I am however braced for the impact of an influx of the usual steam player base. It’s certainly going to be interesting.

Bufo reacted to Pablius in Exciting news about Battlefront and Slitherine
As a sort of long time fan (since CMSF1 times) of CM this is good news...I think...the "Steam wars" have raged on this forums from time to time, and good reason for and against have been argued over time
I sincerely hope it works, Steam does offer many conveniences to costumers and if the math works out and more people buys into the CM brand it can only benefit us all
In my particular case, being from Latin America, I wonder how localized price will work (if at all), on the one hand it could entice people over outside the US to buy more titles, but certainly reduces revenue in the short time I guess
Still, whatever the case is, having more options is always good as a costumer
