My personal opinion is CMFI is actually one of the best if not the best title right now. No pressure . Make sure you get GL and R2V as well.

Anonymous_Jonze reacted to FlemFire in What's the point of on map self propelled howtizers?
I don't know about historicity of these things, but as far as effectiveness is concerned I did have an entire American squad get deleted when it took a hit from German self-propelled arty. They seem pretty jank and easily destroyed, but they do put very explosive and deadly rounds down the range for whatever time they still live.

I'm going to say March 4th, as in that the Soviets are marching forth to Berlin.

Sainte Marie Du Mont with new grass, Bushes and trees from Hedgerow Hell mod, (highly recommended)...
Beautiful natural countryside around Sainte Marie Du Monts, where para fought para on the first day of D-Day.
To the north of St Marie du Monts is the Brecourt Manor Battery, lets see how many men you would need to extinguish this threat to Utah Beach.

The grave yard in St Marie Du Monts
In St Marie Du Monts, note the Normandy stone farm houses where no windows or doors face the roadside, this is very common in Norman villages.
In St Marie Du Monts, buldings with advertising hand painted onto the brick work.

Destroyed farm on the way to St Mari Du Monts.

I have great memories of immobilzing one in Final blitzkrieg then sending a Stuart to it's rear to take it out. Used all of it's AP rounds and the crew didn't even bail 😄

Yes the AI usually picks ill-advised choices in QB. I always pick for them and make sure they have a balance of infantry and vehicles. Then I just try to forget what I gave them when the map starts.

I like to see the introduction of medics. If they are successful, we could see a recovery of combat shock.

Anonymous_Jonze reacted to Aragorn2002 in Frustrated by this recent CMCW announcement . . .
We should all buy everything that BF can throw at us. A company like this will never appear again. Mind you, I'm driven by sheer egoism. 😉

Thank you all for your tips and links. I read Combatintman's guide and AAR and the translated manual. although the guide was quite advanced for someone like me, It did set me in the right state of mind for what's to come.
After about 5'ish hours, I manged to finish both the 3rd and 4th mission in the training campaign. I even manged to sang "overwhelming victory" on the last mission.
I have to say this again, this seems to be a very nice community. and I hope to continune to participate in it in the future.

Anonymous_Jonze got a reaction from infierno in Fire and Rubble: What are you looking forward to the most?
I would love a Warsaw Uprising Campaign or Scenario. Modded partisan uniforms with the home army armband. With all the new urban assets! It could be fantastique!

Mods like this really need to go official IMHO.....That is too useful a tool for everyone not to be able to use it (or benefit from it in play).

Anonymous_Jonze reacted to MikeyD in New things added to the new thing
The terrain shift when shifting between Germany and NTC region in QB is dramatic. I can see people playing faux Yom Kippur war engagements on the NTC landscape, its like having two separate games.

That's all I'm saying, too!
And a Rhodesia-Angola-Mozambique-SADF module is the logical extension of that!

Maybe, maybe the co-operation with Slitherine will also mean more modules for the ww2 titles. Perhaps all of our dreams will come true after all.

Anonymous_Jonze reacted to Sgt.Squarehead in And now.....
The expansion & modding options for this game will be enormous, with just a couple of modules it could almost certainly handle the USSR's adventures in Afghanistan and all the way back to to America's involvement in Vietnam, and almost everything in between, including the Arab/Israeli wars.
PS - Suffice it to say CM:H&E will almost certainly be getting a rebuild.
