    -if a player without this mod/add-on will use a scenario made using this mod/add-on as an option the said player will see the buildings in game but with one of the 8 original textures, being those modded or not..
    -the roll up doors in building no.12 do not work in game, they are just aesthetics
    -the windows seen on middle facades of buildings 9 and 10 don't work in game, but you can use the long windows + balconies) to match the facade and make it servicable -and yet visually pleasant- in game, see this example:

    Apoll, yes it does sound like you are playing real time... I never play in real time, only wego.  I too suggest you play that way.  There is way too much going on in most scenarios to play real time, which I would only ever play in a platoon sized battle.
     
    You need the time to take stock of all aspects of the battle.. you can only do that in wego mode for anything larger than a platoon.  In wego you can rewind each turn, watch the enemy UI contacts and determine movement paths, intent etc.  Happy to go into more detail, but it sounds like you know what you are doing, only need to remember that you are playing as every commander at every echelon, from platoon leader, to company, to battalion commanders, all the way down to individual team leaders.  You need to be able to jump into each of their shoes.. not possible in real time.

    Pretty much what it says. When you add this to your game you'll get static laden radio chatter coming from all your vehicles (while sitting and moving).
     
    SEE the readme for all the info.

    I had my first contact with a rookie Su25 pilot. My only AA Soldier got taken out by a very far flying shrapnel.

     

     
    A generous burst of 30mm hitting the unsuspecting grunts, several directly.
     

     
    10 men 6 died 3 wounded and out of the fight.
     
    Really a shame since they pinned atleast 2 Russian squads down and could've easily decimated them with the AGS during the next 2-3 turns

    Here are a few images from my first scenario. As good as Battle for Normandy is, I can't help but wonder if Black Sea will soon mature and surpass it as BFC's masterpiece. What an embarassment of riches.

    Wary of possible UAV observation and the threat of precision fire, a RUS assault recon unit coils its way through a tree line in order to mask its movement. Their task in the Stara Basan countryside is threefold: identify enemy strongpoints, direct friendy CAS and pathfind for the follow on assault company.




    A RUS BRM-3K bolts from concealment enroute to taking up a new position. Exhaustive observation must be measured against the need for high tempo operations. Mobility is survival. 900 meters to the south of the RUS probe, a weary UKR platoon debuses in a shallow defilade and hastily prepares for the hammer blow about to befall them.

    LOL we have all wanted to rant at some point or another over our pixeltruppen.
     
    I get over it by watching and noting when they do things right, and I don't mean just in the sense of the way I ordered them to.  Example
     
    This team was ordered into this building, on the way they took fire from a guy in the building to the left.  They paused on their own, eliminated the enemy, then proceeded to their objective.  Now note, from the left guy number 1 and guy number 5.  They have taken a position with their weapons trained on the last known position they took fire from.  The TAC AI might not always do what you want, but it is far from stupid.
     
     
     

     
     
    I actually prefer the infantry TAC AI to the vehicle TAC AI.

    This is a CMx2 thing and I had hoped it would get better over time, but sometime the Infantry Tac AI is so frustrating it pulls my hair out.
     
    I been a player and holder of CM games from CMx1 to now my latest Black Sea.
     
    I absolutely love the vehicle TAC AI even when I do not like what the crew does, it still makes sense, the vehicle become endangered and throws itself into reverse only to get hit from a previous spotted At weapon, still perfectly understandable.
     
    But close combat Infantry Tac AI is what I feel lets the game down in the biggest way, I will explain some scenario and what I see and what i would prefer to see.

    PERCEIVED ISSUE:Running, I am not sure if it is the animation or they are so very slow but when guys a running they seem to be doing it on ICE, as in lots of movement but very little forward progress, 9 time out of ten they are all on top of each other so it easy for the enemy to get multiple kills. Now the speed may be due to the amount of weight they are carrying but the speed is exactly the same in WW2 where the in very little weight factor.
     
    PERCEIVED SOLUTION: What I rather see, is they move in pairs and individuals, with a more open gap between the soldiers, this way they all do not get slaughter like sheep. This could be an extra command like sprint, to get across streets, without loosing a whole 4 man team, because they are all snails without a care when moving.

    PERCEIVED ISSUE: Assaulting from a breached corner into a house. To do this you need your 8 man squad to Quick to the breech and then the other team to runs forward into the house, this normal exposed the first team to a hail of fire as the moving into an open area (rubbled wall) which gets them killed then the team racing in like lemming charge in without fire support, goo by 8 man to to a single person with an 8 AK or SMG.
     
    PERCEIVED SOLUTION: You can have a number of the team stack on the corner of the wall and support by fire, this has them less exposed, the assault team then breeches.

    PERCEIVED ISSUE: The Breaching team in a house assault get slaughtered come in the front door, The 4 man team act stupidly regardless the distance the team is away from the door, they pile in to there death like lemmings. The enemy just needs to be a single automatic weapon guy to take down a full team. The assault team does not halt its attack, does not toss a grenade in, does not do anything but run and die. I would just like to say I hate every stuid the tac Ai does, but I am giving one example above.
     
    PERCEIVED SOLUTION:
    The assault team stacks at the door, so we do not have 4 separate entries spread over 10 secs. If the team suspects enemy it toss in a grenade before entry, it enters in the door the first few metres in a rush then halts and frees at the enemy it does not run all the way to the end of the house to turn around and come back to first at the enemy at the front door. It the sweeps as a team through the house and stops an fire as a team at contact.

    PERCEIVED ISSUE: Move and then in contact. I prefer to use move sometimes instead of hunt cause I find hunt they stopping all the time on non valid threats that not firing at them, but using move in woods is a pain. If they get ambushed in the wood, the player continues to run and get slaughtered even if it running into the fire.
     
    PERCEIVED SOLUTION: If the fire is come from the front, then the move is cancelled and the TAC AI stops and returns fire, before they have to lose a man in the process and start cowering.

    PERCEIVED ISSUES: Cowering, I understand cowering makes sense, but I see cowering out in the open, I seen a whole team cower in the woods, and continually get suppress and eventually killed cause they will not even attempt to return fire. This frustrates me more then anything.
     
    PERCEIVED SOLUTION: Blind firing, not to hit the enemy but to suppress back to gain a little morale back, throwing grenades, throwing smoke if they have them. crawling away out of range. I rather this then see each individual solider die one after the other cause they will not do anything but cower.

    PERCEIVED ISSUES: Hunt in single file, move in single file. All movement is is single file. This allows  for longer time to get set for contact and normally means all you guys end up cowering and picked off one by one.
     
    PERCEIVED SOLUTION: Hunt when moving through woods should be in arrowhead or line formation, this would allow return fire on contact, right now it contact and then cower cause they need to run forward and the firing at the pint guy suppresses the rear guys, the time that my guys normally do better is when i am shot from the side, which they happen to be in a line formation.

    There is many more bugbears I have of the Infantry TAC AI, but these are my major ones, and the reason I find this game frustrating. I know there is certain things I could be doing better and I am sure a lot of people will come to the defence I the TAC AI . I am not saying it is super bad, just these things could be improved on. Right now infantry without a huge amount of micro management on building assaults or any assault in general take what I would consider unnecessary losses due to it stupidity, where a normal human would do something different. I would love to see BF spend so more time on this front, rather then more vehicles etc.

    It knicks the Tunguska in its wheels and it retreats. In the background, and ATGM-team moves into postition.
     
    The Tunguska spots them and fires a volley that demolishes the wall and the team is shaken, then regroups while remaining unspotted - and fires...

    The battle rages on. But with the odds slightly more on my side. Just when I was about to give up hope.

    Well thanks to the blizzard last night I didn't have to work today!  What better way to spend a snowed in day?
     
    Black Sea is the best yet in my opinion.  It's completely engrossing and consuming.  This is the game I've been waiting for since falling for modern era because of Shock Force.
     
    I'm completely loving playing as the modern Russian Army.  Now I have to split my time playing as the Soviets in WWII and the Russians in the Ukraine, oh the humanity!
     
    Great work gang, you continually impress year after year.  Combat Mission is the only game I've played so intensely and for so long.  Sheesh, since 2001!  Fourteen years of non-stop combat goodness.
     
    Ok, I'm fawning.  But seriously, this title really deserves the praise.  Just incredible.

    Pro-Moscow militia are the number 1 on my wishlist for CMBS.
     
    French and German troops would be interesting additions especially since we didn't have France in shock force.
     
    Maybe some more elite units for Russians? They seem to be rather mid-tier troops in comparison to US forces which have all the newest and fanciest equipment available. Maybe GRU Spetsnaz to support the pro-Moscow militia? They would have some really interesting equipment like VSS Vintorez.
     
    @dams-fr: deploying mines and dropping specials forces wouldn't make sense in the scale of CM missions. "Silent weapons" are already kind of included in the game if you mean suppressors. Mk. 21 snipers for US have them (but suppressors don't really matter that much in reality).

    in a few days will be;) I have everything ready (voice for Americans and Russians - about 700 tones), but for now downloading a game with stunning speed, too 60kb / s (about 12 hours)
     
    ps. will also be all the rest (motors, environment, guns, explosions etc - some 1,200 tones - 700mb)   - I have sounds for Polish infantry (I hope that in the next module)

    I ve seen scenes like that as well. The best one happened in CMBN, when a SINGLE german soldier took out 2 tanks and 1 squads of infantry on his own within 120 seconds. He hit the first tank with panzerfaust, rushed towards the second one and killed it with a satchel charge. Then he mowed down the dismounting crews and a squad of infantry with his MP-40 and some grenades. I watched it like 50 times in disbelieve, it was so awesome!

    I'd like to point out that there has been a thread like this for pretty much every release since Market Garden, when some massive optimizations hit loading times in general.

    The 3.0 patches have really brought CMBN and CMFI a long, long way forward. CMRT with the 1.03 patch is being also awesome.

    What I think has changed a lot is the map making in most scenarios and many QB maps that feels more... artistic? true to nature?

    Regarding shadows: just go and find a game where you find shadows to be realistic and also 1) allows you to make your own "levels", and place objects mostly arbitrarily, 2) allows the same degrees of freedom with the camera, 3) features such a wide variety of lighting conditions.

    There are not many, really, and there are good - technical - reasons for that.

    1. NO, the problems were magnified because they released it to non pre orders too soon.

    2. No logic in this statement because the problem would still be there if everybody waited until tomorrow unless the server issue was
    fixed. In which case this should have in place before announcing release to the world. Maybe we should have drawn lots. Somebody has to
    start downloading.

    3. BF's server wasn't ready to cope.

    4. Point 1 applies.

    5. Despite the fact that pre orders should have been allowed at least a 24 hour window, the non pre orders have paid their money as well
    and are entitled to be annoyed.

    6. Thing obviously were not fine.

    7. Be better prepared. BF knew how many pre orders there were. What did they expect to happen? Again, point 1 applies.

    8. It's somebody's fault.

    You obviously have had the game and these issue didn't apply to you. This is the second post I am aware of were you think
    it is funny. What exactly is funny? I know what is funny to me. It is that you are the only one of the usual suspects who
    has jumped to BF's defence so far. There are usually so many more ready to hop on the bandwagon.

    People are entitled to be annoyed when they have waited for hours on a download to complete only for it to constantly fail without the condescending attitude of some people on these forums.

    I finally have the download after 15 hours from initial attempt. Off to work now. Hilarious.

    so here is the deal - and I am not quoting to not single anyone out, this is just a general perspective
     
    1. BF has told pre orders that they are getting early access and they should not announce it as it simply causes a flood on the servers (this goes back a long way before their current service)
     
    2. The forum goes nuts with F5 monkeys refreshing as if having the game today versus tomorrow is somehow going to fundamentally change our lives
     
    3. BF has a cloud service that takes time for the installer to be distributed to the cloud servic e to make the cloud actually function as intended.
     
    4. The pre orders that get the email immediately announce they are downloading
     
    5 the non pre orders start complaining about how their lives are being ruined and they should have the game now!!!
     
    6. Chris announces fine, they are opening it up
     
    7.  Everyone starts downloading and as was probably predictable it causes issues.
     
    8 It is BFs fault for announcing late
     
    9. It is BF's fault for announcing early
     
     
    C'mon guys, lighten up and chill a little bit.  The game is released, you'll be playing it soon enough and yeah you are damn funny to listen to.
