  1. For the dude who asked for this you've been remarkably reticent about trying it out.
  2. So, to go back to the very beginning of Abdul Gul's story:
  3. Just took my first proper look at this one.....Wow it's big! Is a Blue version of this scenario on the cards at any point?
  4. Doing my best, got a bit distracted by Mosul in Iraq, but work goes on. 'The Heist' has, I hope, finally been honed to a proper state for campaign play, while it's very simple to look at, it can be an utter b*****d to play if you don't micromanage your every move and plan out each action thoroughly in advance. If you decide you need to destroy an enemy unit you need a proper plan and you do need to do it thoroughly. Half-hearted efforts can really come back to bite you.....This is based on my own experience in testing and I designed it! If you'd like to test 'The Heist' please send me a PM.....I'd appreciate your opinion on whether it is too hard for the early stages of a campaign (it caused me to rage quit a couple of times while I was tuning it to its current state).
  5. The further east you go the fewer the favourable representations get.....Apparently. I'd like to see a good film made about the emerging truth behind the Dieppe raid.
  6. Moving on: Quite a lot of remodelling to do before CTS can continue their push to the Tigris.....There won't be much of Ramadi left in this section of the map at all when I'm done, but I'll be using LLF's block-building technique to create the new scenery. In this one there are lots of big compounds (wish I knew what they were).
  7. I'd actually be willing to pay to test it if someone wrote it and that's a fact.....Perhaps a crowdfunded Beta of some sort perhaps? Give the community the opportunity to put their money where their mouth is at.....Seriously.
  8. Not all of the scenarios at Erwin's link will work for your game, you would need all the modules for that.....But I suspect you may already be considering getting them by now. They are worth every penny IMHO, the amount of content you can access jumps by an order of magnitude.
  9. Common codebase for me too.....Add the modules you want (in my case, all of 'em). This would allow scenario designers to do amazing things, T-34/85s in Afghanistan or Angola, Syrian Pz.IVs, you name it! Damn that would be so cool! The ability to fully customise unit descriptions in the editor would be a massive boon in combination with the above.
  10. Here's what Hunnicutt has to say on the subject (in this instance the M36): Here's a thread from Missing Lynx discussing the subject (It has WIP photos of what may well be the model in the image posted by OP): http://www.network54.com/Forum/47208/thread/1422454707/M36+Jackson+Roof+Armor The second image from OP shows a post-war factory-built armoured top, commonly seen on the M36B2: http://www.theshermantank.com/the-sherman-tank-variant-page-pages-for-each-type-of-sherman-tank/the-m36-90mm-gmc-a-very-good-td/
  11. That looks like a lot of work, even with overlays.....Good luck and keep us informed.
  12. We've seen what Hollywood can do to our history before. Most Britons view Hollywood's pathetic revisionism with a mixture of contempt, disgust & disbelief.
  13. There was nothing special about the cannon in the Pz.I Ausf C and it was even rarer than the Luchs, though it did see some action in Normandy.
  14. Anti-tank ditches & canals would both be strong candidates.
  15. Toasting the Army.....The Mujahideen way: Some of these guys really take no prisoners: But their fire discipline is a bit questionable:
  16. You are not alone there fella.....Many of us would love to see the return of the 'Static Campaign' & persistent map damage.
  17. Tank destroyers tended not to have muzzle brakes as they kick up a much bigger cloud of dust, revealing the vehicles position, whether this would be a consideration here I honestly don't know.
  18. The history of the 'War on Terror' is no better, there are countless more terrorists today than there were in 2001. Probably best for us to stick to Ramadi in here though fella, if only out of respect for LLF's work on it.....I've been messing with another chunk of the map quite recently, but not for Mosul this time.
  19. That genuinely does surprise me.....I wonder what someone further from the battery might have seen? Found an interesting paper from 1985 discussing the subject: http://www.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fulltext/u2/a164593.pdf It's a translation of a German document from 1945 and it does show that attempts to control flash were already underway seventy plus years ago. They clearly don't seem to have mastered the process for tank cannon as the various images of ignited gas clearly show.....This is most perplexing.
  20. Only 100 Luchs were made, the only divisions to receive a full compliment in their recon battalion were 4th & 9th Pz., the rest of the production was doled out in company sized or smaller packets.
  21. War.....Sorry fella but these pathetic efforts do not justify the word. We've had wars in Britain, they look like this:
  22. Looks like we're all getting some, it's spread to Combatintman's yard now: https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/live/2017/jun/06/melbourne-siege-police-investigate-gunman-yacqub-khayres-terrorism-links-live
