  1. Maybe wait for CM:SF II? Apparently it is coming. I don't much like Black Sea either truth be told, the whole scenario is utterly unappealing to me.
  2. The Italian's artillery is probably their only reasonably strong card, but their spotters are terrible.....I tend to drop the lot on objectives that I think I have a reasonable chance of taking at the start of the battle, then see what's actually achievable from there.
  3. I've still got both editions of Twilight 2000 in the attic, the second iteration was a bit more real-world focussed on the whole, but it also went even further to extremes with Alien technology and even zombies in some of the scenario packs!
  4. Ah, that's what happened to it (Riots at a guess?).....I was hoping to find that one to see what you'd done in there.
  5. Love the moustaches! Hope it's proceeding OK.....Looking forward to seeing how it all turns out.
  6. The battle for Mosul, from ISIS' perspective: https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/graphic-40-min-propaganda-video-shows-battle-mosul-shown-isis-perspective/ Poor Mosul.
  7. Kits mostly, some aftermarket bits too. You can do wonderful things with a brush, but it's definitely easier to get dramatic results with an airbrush.....Tamiya do a range of very good aerosol cans, but they're a bit pricy.
  8. Breakout is now thoroughly tested, VPs sorted, if anyone fancies giving it a go please send me a PM.....On to the next one.
  9. If they don't have radios reporting back would make a lot of sense.
  10. Pretty much no such thing these days fella, CGI undercuts everything.....Check out the Star Wars fan films I posted in the general discussion area.
  11. I was one told that Afrikaans is the optimum language for cussing.....Whether this is actually so I have no idea.
  12. Trust me fella, even in the current CM:SF low experience UnCons meet properly trained troops in the same way a sentence meets a full-stop.....It's their tricks & traps that get 'em the kills.
  13. And perhaps, a little Wagner: I'd buy CM:Vietnam in an instant TBH.....It's still a conflict crying out for a really good game IMHO.
  14. Eighteen years of crushing boredom expressed in plastic! But on the up-side, if I take it into my head to build something, I don't usually need to go shopping, pretty much regardless of what it is.
  15. Well it was, a couple of years back, but it's grown a bit since then.
  16. I also have a bunch of Perry Miniatures 28mm ACW stuff, for the Lardies' 'Terrible Sharp Sword' rules.....All still in the boxes.
  17. Nice.....Tidy paintwork on the figures, I'm terrible at them these days, I used to be pretty good.
  18. I generally share your opinion, but I make special exceptions for 'head-choppers'. Bring on CM:SF II and please include TOS-1A Buratino so we can: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPCpAKjvXuM&list=RDNPCpAKjvXuM#t=43
  19. I'm a huge fan of the humble Sherman too, I've got kits for all the main variants except the very early direct-vision M4A1 seen at Alamein. I do need to settle down and do a Jumbo though, it's one of the few M4A3 variants I don't already have built and I really need one for my late war 'Company' (Actually elements of.....Thought I had pictures of some of them but apparently not). I also decided to go completely barmy on the ancient Airfix 1/76 Sherman, just to see how close I could get it to the real thing: I chose 'Cecilia' because she's the most well known of the Tarawa Shermans that wasn't actually photographed (AFAIK), leaving some room for artistic lisence. I've since learned that the lettering of her name should probably be in white rather than yellow and the tank number is total fiction too, I was staggered at how well it showed up TBH. Both are under varnish now so they won't be changing any time soon.
  20. Cool. Sadly my close-vision has deteriorated quite badly in the last decade, I've got glasses that compensate but I find I still get pretty bad head-aches from straining my focus all the same. I should move up a scale or two really, but with that lot in the stash.....
  21. I'd expect UnCons to get their next outing in CM:SF II.....Hopefully they will then migrate to Black Sea (it is a very big & very chaotic crescent after all) and then the WWII titles too. As you say, we can dream.
  22. Highly recommend an airbrush, I have a few but I mostly use a Revell Vario (double-action Badger clone) as my go-to brush for general work and a old DeVilbiss Super-93S which is a serious tool, on a really good day with a really smooth mix I can sign my name with it (sadly the really good days are few and far between). Whatever you choose (Iwata &/or Harder & Steinbeck are the way forward these days), definitely get a compressor with a reservoir at the same time, it will save you loads of money and messing about. Anyhow, have a 1/72 Magach AVLB WIP courtesy of Tim Neate over on the Braille DG at Missing lynx: http://www.network54.com/Forum/47210/message/1443375719/IDF+M60+AVLB+(Magach+Tagash+Tsemed PS - I'm 100% my confident my stash will outlive me, my build rate is glacial these days (CM may be a factor in that TBH).
  23. It also offer loads of new options for scenario design.....Some folk like the Battle of Kursk, others favour the Secret War, personally I like both but usually on different days. We know from CM:SF & CM:A that the game engine can do both, hopefully it's just a matter of time (please BFC remember to give UnCon units access to satchel charges).
