  1. Thanks for mentioning Blockdorfs book, John. I've just ordered it.
  2. Of course you're not. Don't talk about yourself like that just because of something stupid like a computer game. If what you've said is your opinion, than stick to it. Just don't take it so seriously.
  3. Neither can I. I also placed the correct dll in the folder, just in case. Doesn't seem to make the slightest difference in loading times etc. though. I'm also using Windows 7 64 bits.
  4. Of course there will be new features, people. Chris said that he only had a couple of screenshots to share, since most of the new stuff is still being textured. Stop panicking for Heaven's sake. BF never disappoints. These guys aren't dumb, they know what people expect from a Bulge game and that includes fog, deep snow etc. Just relax and wait. All will be well. I'm sure those guys at BF are laughing their heads off, because of our comments, based on two tiny screenshots.
  5. I agree. If they could only improve one aspect of the game, then let it be the fog. Even more important than snow.
  6. Olebouch, I hope you are still working on this great scenario. It is such a good design, especially for a first attempt. You have talent, my friend and we desperately need people like you.
  7. Great subject and great screenshots. Looks like another scenario talent is among us. Very nice.
  8. For me 'pop' is more the sound of a mortar, so yes, perhaps it is wise to use another word. Perhaps 'Blam', which you also use sometimes. Personally I always think a rifle sounds more like 'Koooffff', but that is hardly suitable for a cartoon. Most things have already been said, like the IG not being a good choice. Also please consider adding some more details about the units involved. I love that sort of background information, it really draws me in. I think your series show once more the potential of CM and how little we make use of it, Bud. If Wargamer.com or another site would publish it, it would no doubt result in a lot of people buying these games. Very exiting stuff.
  9. I've just discovered this great series. My kind of cartoon! Very entertaining, please keep them coming.
  10. I agree with Kohlenklau. It WILL be great. These guys NEVER let us down so far. Screenshots are Alpha, so let's be realistic about them. Rejoice about all the units and vehicles included. This year it's really going to be a great Christmas with very little peace on earth.
  11. It is essential for this game to have typical buildings for each area, for instance the Ardennes need solid, stone buildings with little windows etc. Apart from that this game needs improved weather and landscape effects, like dense fog, thick mud and heavy snow(fall). The vehicles do not need that much attention, since they are basically good and can be modded. The (winter) uniforms however need a LOT of attention, same for the trees. Good trees are essential, absolutely essential. Those factories in CMBS also look nice btw. That's it for my shopping list. Well, they have until the end of this year.
  12. We've asked for screenshots, although it is obvious BF ain't ready for it yet, so for the moment these will have to do. The unit and vehicle list is very impressive, the screenshots are pretty bad, but they are Alpha and those guys at BF are no fools. They know very well that the landscape of the Ardennes is all about snow, fog and atmosphere, so give them some credit and let's not draw premature conclusions. Main thing is the Bulge is in the pipeline and boy, did I miss that theater of war.
  13. Looks like a lot of work still needs to be done, but it is an exiting start. And the Grille is in.
  14. Steve, can you tell us some more about the progress regarding the Bulge? Show some screenshots perhaps? You were going to at the beginning of this year, but something went wrong at the last moment. Give us some bones to keep us busy for a couple of months please.
  15. A realism-focused wargamer who gives up on CM is no longer a realism-focused wargamer. CM may not be perfect, but there simply is nothing that can match it.
  16. That would indeed be most welcome. The silence is deafening.
  17. Me neither. It is not that I don't want to or out of spite. The conflict just doesn't interest me in any way. I've considered buying it just to support BF and I probably will sooner or later, but not just yet. I've bought each and every game of the CM series so far and it feels a little bit like treason not to buy CMBS. I haven't much time at the moment though and as I said not much interest either. I do understand however (after some cooling down) that BF has other priorities at this moment and every dog must have it's day. So now the fans of modern warfare have a good time. Our time, ww 2 fans that is, will come again too and we already have a couple of great games to play with. I hope BF does well with CMBS, I really do. Let's hope the Bulge will be upon us when the leaves start to fall again.
  18. Olebouch, I've taken a quick look and I like it a lot. Great briefing, good looking map and setup. Well done and thank you!
  19. Everybody's attention must be focused on CMBS. That's the reason why we don't hear a thing about the Bulge. Not very stylish, but there it is.
