  1. Pelican Pal, thanks, but that is CMBN, isn't it? The scenario I'm making is for CMRT. It would be nice to have the possibility to adjust the weaponry of your platoons. Strangely enough did the German recon platoons in CMBB have more SMG's than those in CMRT.
  2. I hope we will get more Sturmgewehre on the eastern front as well. That will probably happen when we continue with the next module. I'm working on a scenario at the moment with a German recon company. Their armament mainly consists of rifles and now and then a MP 40, which isn't nearly enough to fight it out on close range with a Russian SMG unit. I've solved the problem by reducing each German platoon to half strength and adding a Scout team to each of them (which has 3 SMGs), but more Sturmgewehre would be a better solution.
  3. That really makes my day. I love that vehicle. SUPERB.
  4. Ian. No, not yet, well, I've read parts of it, but not everything. But I'm going to. Thanks again for the explanation. It helps a lot.
  5. Ian, thank you for explaining and yes, I did try to say to a specific unit to occupy a specific terrain objective. Okay, so that is not possible. And you are right, I did make another mistake by allowing the AI to overrule the default setup. So it is not possible to make all of the three platoons of a company chose another terrain target and it is not possible to plan exactly their advance towards seperate terrain objectives via several 'sub' terrain targets?
  6. I must say that the objectives part of the editor is still a mystery to me. I've tried to assign an objective to a certain unit, had second thoughts about it (the unit arrived out of nowhere right on the target area), removed the terrain objectives, but still the unit jumps the removed objective area as soon as I start the game. I've read the tutorial and stuff, but I just don't get it. If anyone would like to advise, please do.
  7. I've noticed that German Aufklärung squads only have rifles and one MG, no SMGs. In CMBB they still had one or two SMGs, but not in CMRT. I wonder whether this is historical or just not right. It sure limits their usefullness at close range. Especially when they meet Soviet SMG equipped squads.
  8. I'm pretty sure of that too, although I'm not really thrilled about modern warfare. And yet, I still hope we will be surprised this winter by an offensive in the Ardennes region. But my trust in BF is unlimited. Whatever they release, I'll buy.
  9. They look very different from the Swedish girls my brother and I used to watch when my parents weren't at home a long, long time ago.
  10. Thank you, George, I appreciate your willingness to help. I will stick to the OOB as in the original scenario. Pity so little is left of that part of history, but so be it.
  11. Good question, George. And yes, according to the site below it is the date of award, so the action itself must have been earlier. The action is mentioned in Jung's history of Panzerregiment GD, page 242. The text is pretty much the same as on this site: http://members.shaw.ca/grossdeutschland/panthers.htm I've checked the pages in 'Battleground Prussia', but that doesn't help. I think it will be next to impossible to get more details and as with so much actions it will only be possible to make an educated guess with regard to what really happened.
  12. I'm currently working on a remake of the HSG scenario on the action of Leutnant Neumeyer of the Grossdeutschland division in Lithuania, on the 23rd of October 1944. Neumeyer supported an attack South or East of the city of Krottingen with three Panthers. The main force existed of elements of recon units of the GD. Neumeyer won his KC on this day. I do have permission of the original designer for this remake. It is very hard to find information about this small scaled battle. Can anyone perhaps tell me more about it, or tell me where more information can be found? I also would like to ask how such a force would probably have been put together. We know for sure 3 Panthers were attached to this Kampfgruppe, but that's about it.
  13. Equally interesting. Poland and Eastern Prussia are essential for me. If I had to chose even more essential than Hungary.
  14. What kind of impact does tree density have upon the movement of tanks? I'm working on a remake of an HSG scenario (with the blessing of the original designer) in which the tanks should be able to withdraw through an orchard.
  15. JonS, do you mean just a gap in the fence, or are there gates and if so where? I'm trying my hand on a map myself at the moment (and a scenario eventually), but I don't see any gates among the flavor objects or walls.
  16. I think you might be wrong there. The Finns are immensely popular overhere.
  17. Morbid wish? This is a wargame. Don't see any reason why bodies before the battle are morbid and after the battle quite normal.
