  1. Am glad your map is getting more use. I recall how long and much work it took. You should redo "Relief of Joker 3" or similar
  2. And the names look like they all came from the same finishing school. Great dentistry ad.
  3. Just went and saw the 3D version with spousal unit. She wanted to see it but then found it boring (so maybe not for sigothers). I very much enjoyed it, and it was well worth seeing it in 3D. Peter Jackson gives a good on-camera interview about why and how they used modern tech to accomplish the tasks like to making the projection speed correct, the colorization correct, and yes, employed lip readers so we can now hear what was being said. Apparently, he is a WW1 buff and has tons of WW1 uniforms and gear etc. Gotta love his sense of humor when he reveals that to get authentic sound of artillery guns moving etc. that he reveals nonchalantly that he owns a personal collection of heavy WW1 guns "as one does"... The only odd aspect is that thru most of the doc it seemed like the participants (interviewed in the 1960's) were almost having a good time. There are harrowing photos of dead and rotting (all colorized) and some mention of the horror. But, no one with psych damage was interviewed about any really horrible personal experiences that they found shattering. "It was all in a day's work" and "I wouldn't have missed it for the world" seemed to be what one takes away from the film(!). Nonetheless, a remarkable achievement by Jackson's team and definitely highly recommended for breathing so much "new life" into the WW1 footage. Stay after the credits for a short doc about how they made the film itself.
  4. Sometimes it benefits you, the player, and sometimes it benefits the AI (or oppo player). Research indicates that for unclear reasons it's only the latter case when one tends to blow a fuse.
  5. Very interesting. Thanx. Waaaait... is this a spoof?
  6. Yeah... I figured that out all by myself. But, am reluctant to dismiss anyone's observations out of hand. I still remember people being ridiculed when talking about strange shaped aircraft b4 Stealth was announced.
  7. The ironic thing is that I learned that phrase back in 2007 CMSF1 days from BF site. I thought I was the only one who didn't know what it meant back then.
  8. You mean Kieme's HD mods? Am using em. They make a difference. Using em in CMSF2 as well.
  9. Totally agree, The best scenarios have multiple AI plans so a player could face a significantly different situation the 2nd or even 3rd time depending on how many AI plans there are. Wish there was a way for the system to "know" which AI plan a player has experienced so one is sure to face a new one. It's horrible replaying the same exact situation/scenario.
  10. It's your thread, you can do with it as you please. Besides there are a hundred just like it stretching all the way back to CMBO. I even made one circa 2000! Nobody's gonna care, no worries. LOL... be afraid, be very afraid... we do have hall monitors here who DO care, and u may get jumped on...
  11. The question is did he accurately see 6 propellers. It's pretty obvious from the pics that there are not 6 of em on this aircraft. Best to avoid dismissing observations blindly. Reminds me of group pressure influence experiments where when enuff others poo poo a subject's opinion, the subject will actually change his mind. We're talking about changing someone's mind about whether one piece of string is longer than another when it's clearly obvious which is longer. So, unless Pinot is now certain he is in error, let's give him the benefit of the doubt. There are all sorts of strange things flying about. I see em as am close to airbases.
  12. Also in theaters now (even in 3D!) is Peter Jackson's (Lord of Rings trilogy etc) homage to WW1 "They Shall Not Grow Old" doc that is getting rave reviews. Even spousal unit #1 expressed interest in seeing this(!) https://www.polygon.com/2019/2/1/18206812/peter-jackson-documentary-wwi-they-shall-not-grow-old-review
  13. Quite so... Can't understand why anyone would want to replay a scenario just to get a Total Victory score. Says something about the personality. Not sure what.
  14. Enjoyed this scenario. Looks and sounds even better with the "African Theater Combat" mods (temperate uniforms for the Brits, jungle sounds & terrain, Syrians converted to African Uncons etc.) Mostly, maybe all created by MikeyD.
  15. The problem is that there can often be a pixel sized hole thru the densest woods that the AI will be able to shoot thru even tho' it's invisible to the human eye. It's one of those "Not WYSIWYG" situations.
  16. Huh? Who said they are overloaded? Members are more frequently asking me for this and that old mod. So, people want mods depending on taste. We may have a way for the mods to be available to all by March/April. No requirement for you to have any, so no need to be bothered. Relax...
  17. Wow...! How did you even get to play with more than a tiny fraction?
  18. OMG! Just realised 9th Co should be available on Amazon Prime streaming. Going to put it on "My List" right now. Bye...
  19. Good grief... my dad wouldn't have understood a word and would probably given me a wallop for being sarcastic or summat! I see these students using their smart phones to pay at supermarkets now... Maybe BF could start an eldercare business/independent living facility where us "more experienced" humans can play CM2 and CM3 and CM4 etc without the new fangled hassles...?
  20. Exactly: Hypeman said: "With the new version 4 upgrade, are infantry units able to resupply by standing within close proximity to transport/resupply vehicles? I know that they can share ammo with other, ammo depleted, infantry units by sharing the same physical space; however, does this mechanic apply to infantry-vehicle interactions? It can be tedious having to mount each unit to acquire ammunition only to dismount, then repeat." The above implies that he hoped that one can acquire ammo simply by being adjacent. Doesn't work that way. I wish it did. It would also be great if one could exchange ammo between adjacent units (with time and quantity limitations of course).
  21. I use mods cos they IMPROVE the look and immersion of the game - it's not wanting mods on principle. I have over a hundred GB of UNUSED mods cos they are not desired. I agree, currently am only using the best from CMSF1: xnt terrain/building mods by Kieme, Long Left Flank and some other modders, plus a few vehicles like T-55's, rusty taxis and weathered PU trucks that look great in MOS' new Coup d'etat scenario. I use your voice mods incl "Allah's Army", plus BG radio chatter, cricket or birdsong BG combat sounds, some great Arabic music, plus a bunch of UI mods - esp range and caliber, a bunch from Vinnart and Scipio, your unit portraits... Nearly all from CMSF1, so no real need to redo any (other than uniforms maybe).
