  1. Well I spend most of my time in deserts, but you never know when I may have to be in arctic conditions, so sure... PM me. Curiosity is engaged.
  2. He's been doing that for decades. We had no credibility as one President after anther caved to political expediency. I recall some years ago talking to a diplomat who insisted that if we give Kim what he wants for long enuff he would finally come around(!) But it was obvious, that we (in the west) had lost all credibility re our "big stick". Finally, we are saying "no more" and Kim (and the Chinese) are starting to believe us.
  3. When I click on that button I get a "MEGA MUSIC SEARCH" window... with "Accept and Add" so it can do some other stuff to my system. Who on earth would do that?
  4. All the older mods still exist. We're discussing how to make all those mods available permanently. Probably won't happen till March at earliest as there are several hundred GB of old mods.
  5. Very interesting - but plz upload to CMMODS. This site is very confusing (deliberately I bet). Could not figure out which d/l button to press and I tried downloading this 3 times and kept clicking on the wrong button. Heaven only knows what has been downloading. Hope my anti virus and ad blockers kept me safe. Very scary.
  6. I don't know if this is the same thing, but in CMBS during TOC testing we noted that there was a bug where if a team was split in a certain way it seemed to either gain or lose a javelin.
  7. Have enjoyed this discussion of tactics. Wish more threads were like this. Thanks...
  8. In the CMSF2 game, it has been noted that the Bradleys will often fire their main gun when ordered to TARGET LIGHT a building. In fact, have seen em unload all their TOWS at a building 80 meters away - sometime on their own initiative, and sometimes when ordered to TARGET LIGHT. Can't figure out if this is some new SOP I don't recall seeing in CMSF1 or a bug.
  9. It's all downhill after that, Mord. Pretty soon you'll be wondering why you have to learn Windows 15 when Win 10 does everything you need, and younger wankers here will be laughing at you.
  10. Testing just started. The good news is that after over an hour in, the scenario plays well "out of the beta box". But, MOS always keeps improving his designs so... the wait will be worth it. In addition to novel concepts that MOS has perfected and enhanced from the TOC scenario, the new item that his most exciting is the ability to call upon "conditional" reserves - (conditional on losing Victory Points). This has been the Holy Grail since CM2 came out. In CM1, one could specify Battalion, Regimental and Divisional level reserves to be released if the game AI determined that the player was struggling. This was a huge help in making sure that a game was pleasurable by avoiding the dreaded need to stop and restart after large losses that could mean the scenario was unwinnable. This feature was not included in CM2 and many have asked about it MOS has figured out several ingenious ways that enable just that sort of voluntary reinforcement - simulating the player asking for reinforcements at the cost of VP's. As with the concepts in TOC one can only hope that other designers will be inspired to utilize these novel ideas. And if you have not yet played TOC, get on that! That will ensure that you will be ready for the challenges of Coup d'etat when it's released.
  11. If you can't find it elsewhere, we're trying to put up all the old CM2 mods from 2007 onwards someplace for general d/l. But, won't happen until end of February at earliest.
  12. Best to play Courage and Fortitude when one has built up the confidence/arrogance that one is rally good at CM2. It is humbling. It's worth grinding thru it as the final mission in C&F campaign was one of my all-time WW2 favorites. (It is huge - IIRC a Regimental sized Combined Arms Task Force.)
  13. There is truth to this. What puzzles me is if most players are over 50 now, why were gamers mostly into East Front and playing Germans 20-30 years ago, and now we're told that the market wants to play the US or Soviets? When or how did that taste change?
  14. I can confidently say that the vast majority do work across CM2 families as every game I have is very heavily modded. CMSF1 uniforms apparently do not work in CMSF2. But, am copying all other CMSF1 mods over and so far the vast majority all work. And while CMSF2 is good out of the box, the mods markedly improve the look of the game - the sounds, terrain, FX, UI and the vehicles. Not trying to sell anything. I would been very happy had someone else had all these mods and made them available. But it's been years since the Repository closed and CMMODS lost all the old ones, so have had accept the possibility that I have the mod equivalent of the lost library of Alexandria here.
  15. Er... actually I think that might be me trying to upload mods....
  16. How about all players pay a token amount of money to take part. If a player can't keep up with his responsibilities, the money is forfeit to the pool that the surviving players (at the end of the game) can share?
  17. Without giving anything away, I can vouch that that MOS has made another impressive leap in his progression to re-imagining the CM2 game and what design brilliance can achieve. One could describe "Coup d'etat" as "TOC" on steroids as a result of some even more ingenious ways MOS has discovered of (eg) creating conditional reinforcements that may cost VP's if the player makes the decision to activate them. There are also "political" and "financial" decisions that the player can make that will change his Victory Points or determine if enemy forces desert (or mount an attack). Lots of hard decisions and choices for the player to make. The other twist is that this is a Red vs Red scenario. The Briefing alone took me a few hours to digest. But, am confident in saying that if you enjoyed the decisions one had to make in TOC, you will definitely enjoy Coup...
  18. I thought you were studiously reading all my posts... If you had, you would already know that I travel a lot and am often without internet. That way you would know not to waste everyone's time with unhelpful suggestions. However, we all appreciate your amusingly snarky and sarcastic comments. Plz keep em coming... We all need a good laugh from time to time. To those who are interested in gaining access to 12 years worth of mods for all CM2 families, have arranged to send everything to Bootie when am next in UK so (Inshallah) they can be available to all. So patience... We'll get there eventually... Note that it is impractical for any one person to sort through ll the thousands of mods to determine which still work and which are obsolete. That will almost certainly have to be up to individual gamers who can access what they want and check the mods individually - and if possible make a comment regarding if they still work so others don't have to waste their time.
