  1. The only concern is that "Counter-Terrorism" orgs (like all govt orgs) want to extend their power and acquire more budget and so keep expanding their purview. The danger is that they eventually become an instrument of repression of the general population - creating the need for yet more "counter terror" resources etc.
  2. It was a record 21 degrees C (70F) yesterday - blue skies and sunshine. That's astonishing for February in London.
  3. Looks good. My only thought is to dirty up the green camo a bit. Looks new.
  4. Fun articles. If they made comedy TV series depicting such incompetence, no one would believe it! Then again the F16's were destroyed by Belgians, and we all know that Volkswagens are Nazi inventions, so... Of course if you read the results of the early tests of submarines in the ACW, those reports would be hair raising/harrowing as well. (Weren't they deathtraps?) Things tend to improve...
  5. Believe me... Bootie is doing all the hard work. I am now sunning myself in tropical London.
  6. Anyone checked if the "Brit rolled up sleeves" mod works in CMSF2? (I don't have many mods on my travel laptop.)
  7. IIRC it's a level of fitness. Determines how quickly is likely to tire.
  8. I read that some time ago. Even Uber killed someone in Tempe last year when one of their autonomous vehicles (with a human in the car as back up) ran em over. But, in a combat environment, where there should be few if any civilians, that could be acceptable risk. The biggest risk might be killing friendlies. Unfortunately, friendly fire happens now and is accepted as part of war.
  9. Bootie is working hard and tells me that he uploads 30-50 mods per day to CMMODS IV (the guy has a RL job and life). But, he'll get it done, and we owe him a huge "thank you" for setting all this up for us.
  10. Most of the CMSF1 UI, Terrain, Vehicle, and FX mods work in CMSF2. My understanding is that CMSF1 uniforms do not work(?)
  11. Well... if the vehicle doesn't work in the military area, it could still be good for navigating Los Angeles traffic.
  12. Have been in Tempe-Phoenix area for a few years but moving again outa state and then abroad over the next few months. Used to be in southern Utah and would regularly see A10 squadrons training flying low through the rugged terrain as it's similar to Afghanistan. I recall how I didn't hear anything until suddenly the A10's were close overhead.
  13. So there is hope for us all, then. Better start requesting a flypast today...
  14. Unfortunately all that link gave me was an ad for a Binoche movie. Might be on Amazon Prime. Will try and search. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058863/
  15. It's interesting from a sociological POV to see how the British style of marching has been taken to a ludicrous extreme for ceremonial purposes over the years. It helps one understand how some of the silly things we do today and take for granted as "traditional" derived from something that once made some sort of sense, but have been transformed over the years. (eg saluting, and religious or other ceremonies.) Presumably the weird headgear date back to Alexander the Great Greek helmet headgear(?)
  16. If you could find the .wav file numbers that could help us look thru our WAV folders. As you know in CM1 all WAV's are in one folder - no options can exist in a CM1 folder simultaneously.
  17. Not sure how your MG42 will sound in game, but FWIW have uploaded to Bootie's new CMMODS IV several xnt MG42 sound options that give the distinctive MG42 BRRRRR! sounds.
  18. It's fun to play with those HT's with the 75mm. They are powerful, but very vulnerable. It's like riding a motorbike. If you are a good biker, you will probably be a very good car driver - same with going from being good with a Stummel to a tank.
  19. Glad that PETA didn't get ahold of him. That's a war crime innit? My wife worked with a female A10 pilot who is now a pol in Arizona: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martha_McSally
  20. Good idea. Thanks. (Only wish they were in color.)
  21. I just don't remember - but you may want to check that there are not two "refitting" / "replacement" programs in the game - one for vehicles and one for personnel. Hopefully someone else can confirm the exact mechanism.
