  1. Gerry hi They can cross the barbed wire fence, but not the barbed wire fortification. Fences are map objects, fortifications are unit objects. Hope that makes sense P
  2. I came up with this advertising mural, and while it shows on both gable ends it does help make villages and towns more "interesting" I think you guys are being a little tough on some of the maps, as fences, hedges and flavour objects abound in the vicinity of houses. (I'm thinking PaperTiger and, modestly, myself here among others) P
  3. For a ready made amphib landing, including a harbour, and coastal town have a look at http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=127 P
  4. Have a look at my four "rural maps" at the repository as all are temperate in style. Lots of vegetation, and no desert what so ever. P
  5. It should look like this although Devils Descent and the Road to Montebourg will only show if you have download them, as they do not come with the game disc. P
  6. I posted this in the scenario section but meant to put it here Guys hi Working on a scenario (or 5) where the German forces will have on map mtrs. (The map is too big for off map mortars to be in range) For a Bttn on defense. Each German Ko. has 2 mtrs in its heavy weapon plt. In relation to a defensive position where would these be located. I assume (in linear defense) they would be someway behind the main Ko. position (if so how far). Or might they be co-located with the mtrs from the other Ko.s heavy weapons plts. The Heavy Weapons Ko. then have a further 6 mtrs, and I assume these would be someway behind the main Bttn position, again if so how far? Would all 6 mtrs be close to the others, forming a "gun line"? P __________________

  8. My understanding is that if we get just three more votes ( and it doesn't matter which way they go) Steve promises to include it. P
  9. Amizuar - that's one of my scenarios, looks like the AI caught you just perfectly I hope you enjoyed it P
  10. It's been many years since, but when driving in convoy in BOAR it was SOP that vehicles be spaced 50m apart when moving in a built up area, and 100m apart when on open road. This equates to 6 and 12 action spots in game. I use this principle and these distances in game and it works well enough. But I also do recall numerous bottlenecks, delays and traffic jams. Moving large numbers of troops/ vehicles down the same route is an art in game and real life ! P
  11. That's interesting, as you say there is plenty of memory there (and more than I have), so maybe the problem is elsewhere. I've linked this post to my original one so Phil can pick up on you comments. I hope he can sort it, as the scenario looks a blast ! P
  12. Erwin hi I have this problem as well (and pre patch) and reported it to Phil a while ago. It seems it is a memory issue, but like you he cannot understand why the scenario can be loaded at start, but then not from any subsequent saves. He is still looking at it, but I suspect the answer will be more RAM P
  13. Fuser hi I've run some test and can confirm this, and have reported it. In the meantime if you don't want air support to be too effective drop the quality of the Observer. P
  14. Just to check are you selecting strafe, light or heavy ? P
  15. Wood & Dugdale show SS-Panzeraufklaerungs-Abteilung 17 as at 01/06/44 having 1.Ko Armoured Car Co) 2x Sdkfz 222, 11x Sdkfz 223, (but interestingly 13x 2cm KwK, which the 223 did not have !) and 31 LMG 2.Ko (motorised Recce Co) 20 x LMG, 4x HMG, 2x 81mm mtr, 3.Ko (motorised Recce Co) 20 x LMG, 4x HMG, 2x 81mm mtr, 4.Ko (motorised Recce Co) 20 x LMG, 4x HMG, 2x 81mm mtr, 5.Ko (Heavy Motorised Co) 13 x LMG, 3x 7.5cm Pak (towed), 1x 2cm Flak Gun (towed), 6x flamethrowers. On 15th June the Division as a whole had 13 out of an authorised 18 2cm KwK 93 out of 99 81mm mtr 102 out of 110 HMG 930 out of 1044 LMG 22 out of 27 Pak 40 By 7th July the Panzeraufklaerungs-Abteilung was down to 6 armoured cars only, so it would suggest it was in a pretty good state as at 10th June HTH P
  16. SteveP while I have no idea about whether the concelment is correct for orchards, it is worth remembering that the Norman ochards of 1944 will have very little in common with the tidy intensive farming orchards of today. Not really the tidy rows and neatly pruned trees we are used to, but more a collection of fruit trees in a meadow with no real mechanical tools available to keep the grass down or the trees cut back, and in June/Aug all would be in full leaf. P
  17. I always go with single track regardless, based on the tile width, as a a double track takes up 16m width and to my eyes looks too wide. Just my 2p P
  18. Just an idea - but why not give it a go yourself. No better way to learn P
  19. This is an interesting read http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=156158 The guy seems to have done his research P
  20. The 250/7 is in the Mtr section of third plt of 4 Ko. in the Panzer Aufklärungs Battalion The 251/2 is in the Mtr section forth plt 5 Ko. in the Pz Grenadier Battalion HTH P
  21. Not sure what you are after, but you mention the bridges being submerged For shallow rivers I have the bank level and water level the same, but raise the bridge abutments to a higher level. Here you have three bridges at 20m against the bank at 19m, a larger road bridge at 21m against 19m, and the railbridge at 24m. Hope that helps P
