Elements of the 3rd MEU assualt beaches on the Syrian Mediterranean coast, before moving to secure important harbour facilities. Blue vs AI only, requires the Marine module. Includes amended textures and design notes, so file size 11MB Enjoy, feedback always welcome

  9. Guys hi I'm holding this back, but expect it at Cmmod's a short while after "Marines" is out. The custom textures will be includes. Marsh to water, and one building texture is altered to allow for the fuel tanks.

  12. So, if somebody who knows what they are doing,they could apply damage effects to a building skin. Smoke stains around windows and doors, and a clever use of alpha channals around windows would allow holes in walls through which units could shoot ?
  13. Sorry to say this is all made with the current editor, so no it's not water. YD - it's not tall grass, its marsh tiles. 3/4 Sunken lanes of gravel will be used to allow vehicles to "swim" ashore. It works but the limitations of the engine have to be taken into account.

Harbour entrance Slipways and oil storage It is suspected that landings will be carried out in the area in the near future with the hope of securing the harbour facilities relativley intact.

Amateur cameraman catches Syrian forces acting as OPFOR and carrying out amphibious landings on Syria's Mediterranean coast. - No doubt prompted by the expected arrival of a USMC MEU in the area shortly.   18. Julio hi Thanks for your kind comments and rating here and at CMMods, much appreaciated. I hope the scenario worked well through till the end. Its hard to control things without conditional triggers. I'd love to see an AAR, given I can't really play it without knowing most of what is likely to happen next
  19. PT thats a well stated case. In the short term I'd be happy with the AI arty being linked to a target area and time window. (In otherwords utilising the existing editor functions.)
  20. Thought I would share this as I've never seen such a severe case of rout for US troops. Two squads are mounted in Strykers on the map edge out of LOS of all friendly and enemy units, some 100-200 yds away from the Plt HQ and other two squads. The Plt HQ and other two squads are then wiped out to a man by a huge IED and ambush (don't ask). Immediatly the two remaining squads gain ! and are panicked while mounted in thier vehicles on the map edge. One Stryker crew is surpressed, the other abandons its vehicle and disappears. I have no control over any of these units. After a couple of minutes both squads have disappeared, leaving one empty Stryker, while the crew of the other recover and I can now issue them orders (albeit to an otherwise empty vehicle). The entire plt was set at regular experiance, normal motivation, fit, 0 ldrship modifer, limited supply, normal equipment. So within the space of 2/3 minutes an entire platoon was lost from the US force. It certainly raised some interesting challenges for the remainder of the scenario. I've never seen such a severe loss of control over US forces before.
  21. A company sized task force is required to capture an important road bridge. Bad weather and mud is likely to hamper their attempts. Blue (player) vs Red (AI) only A small but highly detailed map 500m x 400m Use your imagination for the bridge, which infantry can cross, although vehicles can't.   22. PT hi Yep the number of terrain objectives is a problem. As you say it doesn't matter which unit occupies the objective, however if the objective is only one tile, the player will be hard pressed to find it unless he moves one unit off and another on, and if he's going to do that he's only cheating himself. It's not perfect, but maybe linking it with your ideas on destroy VP will make it robust enough to work. P
