gunnersman
Wow! That's a lot of material!
Wrath of Dagon
Yes, please release the manual as a pdf, I don't have time to read it on the computer.
Franko
Oh my god, there's an Iron Man mode. I may have just wet my pants.
Cull
Awesome! I'll admit I haven't read much of it in detail except for the map/scenario creation bits, which are really, really cool. Can't wait to get my hands on that! Thanks BF for putting this out for us.
Ranger33
Wait, I just glanced at this earlier and now realize there is no option to download as a PDF, unless I am missing it. Don't want to sound like a whiner, but reading small print like this on my PC gives me a headache after awhile.
Destraex1
Nope, see my earlier post, page 21. hehe... Yes I actually did see that.
RogCBrand
It's definitely cool to get this! Something to enjoy before the game comes out!
JSj
Sigh. I was looking forward to reading the manual, and then it's only some unreadable online thing, no PDF...
Staffan
Great read, however page 156 the M4A1 Late, I take it someone got carried away sine there is some stuttt.. stute... stat... repeats! Staffan
Fenris
Those having difficulty reading it... Just in case you didn't know, you can click on a page to enlarge it so it can actually be read. Whilst agreed the viewer isn't ideal at least it gives us a little taste. -F
~Viajero
I just found another mistake: A manual has been released but there is no game that came with it!
poesel
Thanks for the manual but I'm very disappointed that I can't read it. As others have said - the printing is too small and its even hard to read when a page is magnified. You can't flip magnified pages so this is out, too. The brownish style is very nice and will look good in printing but makes it even harder to read on screen. Please provide a simple b/w pdf.
stikkypixie
I'm glad they explain C2 and command and leadership in more detail (gameplay mechanics wise) than CMSF. It took a loooonggg time for me find out why it was important.
Dadekster88
Well read most of it, skipped the editor section but very well put together with nice some touches of humor. Thanks for tossing a bone guys, its appreciated.
GonzoAttacker
I no longer have the eye site to read either. I have no problem reading any of the manual. First I use "control +" to enlarge the type in first window. Then use the reader magnifier and it fills my screen.
Krilly
Thanks a bunch! I like the military manual type style of it. Now excuse me while I peruse it thoroughly. *puts on monocle*
James Crowley
Now that is what I call a manual - excellent! Thanks for the preview, although I shall leave the detailed reading until I have a hard copy. You simply cannot beat a 'real' book!
Praetori
Found another error on page 74. It claims that selected units cannot fire upon units with dimmed icons which is only partially true. In the context it seems that an enemy unit has been selected, while the reverse is true it doesn't mean that the enemy unit cannot fire upon the dimmed units (we have no idea of the selected units LOS). All the selecting does is tell us the LOS TO that unit or rather IF it's been detected (LOS or not).
user38
Wait, I just glanced at this earlier and now realize there is no option to download as a PDF, unless I am missing it. Don't want to sound like a whiner, but reading small print like this on my PC gives me a headache after awhile. Ranger33, I have read the entire thread and it seems the solution to your problem is as follows: Step1: Buy an iPad and a Kindle. Step 2: Sit on the toilet and read the manual. I think there is supposed to be a step in between step 1 and 2 (because I have both and iPad and a toilet, but I am still sitting here in front of my computer).
LJFHutch
Interesting, they added another difficulty level: Warrior. I still say Iron difficulty is the only way to go
Zatoichi
That's a really good tutorial by the way - the amount of information posted there should help complete novices to any CM game, CM1 gamers who missed CMSF, CMSF veterans who have forgotten WW2 weapon capabilities and pretty much everyone in between. Right, only 160 pages to go...
Thin Red Line
Interesting, they added another difficulty level: Warrior. I still say Iron difficulty is the only way to go What i don't get is whether, in Elite or Iron mode, by clicking on the ennemy icon you obtain the unit details (tank, infantry...).
DaveyJJ
Oh my god, there's an Iron Man mode. I may have just wet my pants. I just got to that bit myself this morning. Awesome. And overall the manual is outstanding in terms of explanations, details, writing style etc. Bravo BF. Oops! The 20+ year typographer in me just noticed way back on page 31-32 ... page 31 ends "WW" and page 32 starts "2" ... shudder.
LJFHutch
It's probably the same as SF (enemy unit info). Another thing, I notice you can buy all sorts of fortifications but not tank holes-you-can-put-tanks-in-for-protection (what are those called again? ). So we'll be seeing a lot of tanks hiding behind sand bag walls then?

Just got done with page 110.....90 more to go, but I will probably go back and re-read everything again. Ahh is the demo coming out soon then..
